grew up on banana pudding and peach cobbler home made from my country momma

I grew up eating my mother’s cooking.  But, while she really took to Tex Mex and some New Orleans (anybody that didn’t pronounce that N’w Orlins doesn’t understand the cooking there), she didn’t fry much.  But my friends’ moms understood southern cooking.  Lightly battered pan fried catfish, shrimp, fried chicken and chicken fried steak.  If it is cooked in a deep fryer or fry daddy, it isn’t fried right.  Pan fried.  Anyone that doesn’t own a seasoned cast iron skillet doesn’t know how to cook southern.

As to cobbler, I still think it is best when coming from a flat top Dutch oven off of coals but even oven cooked, slow and in a Dutch oven is best.  Loved harvest peach cobbler.  And as we end cherry season, buy some fresh cherries, stem, half and pit them and cobbler them.  Like any cobbler, best eaten out of the Dutch oven warm. That’s my second favorite cobbler.  In Autumn, when the orchards have "cooking apples” (the ones not pretty enough for the store), grab some and make a crisp cobbler (and some pies for freezing).  I don’t think of cobbler as being southern as much as I think about it as harvest fruit delicious.

Am I the only more than a little nervous about the OL? It’s obviously been a strength of the team the last few years, but with all the uncertainty around Dillard and Peters moving to RG, I could see things not going well. Not as much proven depth either.

No. I think they are being way too over confident on the Peters move. I'm also still not sold on Dillard. It's definitely going to be a see it to believe it for me. But with that said, I think it should still be somewhere in the top 10 of the league. Maybe just not as dominant as we have been accustomed to.

Has anyone had any issues with ads since I disabled all political ads? Or has anyone had any ads pop up (while you're logged in)? Members shouldn't be seeing ads, so I just want to double check.

No pop ups. Haven’t been not signed in to see ads in a while.

Got any good recipes to share??? I love both bananna pudding and cobbler but everything my mom cooked as a kid came out of a can😞

you gave me a task now , sadly i lost my mother back in '07' and haven't had good cobbler or banana pudding since. i will check with my sister to see if she's got my mom's recipe's , i had to remodel my mother's house cause my father had a water supply break when he was out of town and was a major insurance claim and we emptied the house to update 3 levels. sorry to make a long story but i have bought store brands and they just don't make the grade of old recipe's passed down.

I'm nervous, but I'm also assuming Peters will be the LT and Pryor RG on opening day which makes me feel a little better

Pryor isn’t remotely as talented as Peters or Dillard, so squelch that thought. What we have at the moment is an OL with only two guys lining up where they did last year. Cohesion takes time.

Based on what I’ve seen and heard, I have nothing intelligent to say.

I'm surprised the Eagles haven't at least taken a look at Darron Lee.  He fits their mold.  He definitely hasn't played anywhere near the level people thought he would but in my opinion worth a look.

Shouldn’t say things like that without pics...

Mike Milbury would call her a distraction if the players were forced in to a bubble.....and he'd be right.

Well Brett Brown was fired.

Wasn’t Trevor Williams already on the roster coming into training camp and got cut?

Yes, he was one of the cuts to get to 80

What Sanders injury?

That's what I'm asking. I only saw that it was a significant lower back injury. I haven't been keeping up with much of anything so I have no idea who is injured or why they're injured

I like Pryor at RG more than Peters, but not challenging Peters talent, just age and position change., especially to the right side.

So basically you fit right in with the group.

True. But also have no preseason and CBA limited practice time.

I don't know if they're overconfident.  I think Peters probably determines what reps he wants to do at practice.  I think the team probably trusts him on that part of his game.  I also think they want Pryor to have plenty of first team reps.  Wanting Pryor to have plenty of reps, tells me that they're not super confident that Peters will be starting all 16 games.

it's the injury that says i'm the starter so who makes up the rotation at my position
