August 26, 20205 yr Author So a quick view on status based on reports, podcasts, etc. The major concern on offense is Dillard. Getting a real good impression on the new WRs and JJAW. The offense should be explosive. Some minor issues with depth at OL and TE. The major concern on defense is Barnett, he needs to show up this year. I'm pretty confident that Hargrave will be ready. Hearing positive reports on Mills and Parks. That's it in a nutshell. Our first round picks need to deliver.

You need to get Tonkatsu sauce, which is not unlike Hoisin but sweeter and lighter. Kikkoman makes a good one and a decent supermarket will carry it. Get Panko bread crumbs while you're there. Then, boneless pork chips - pound them if they're not already thin - dust with flour, dip in an egg wash, then into Panko bread crumbs, deep fry to medium golden brown, dress with the sauce and chow down. If you want to try it before cooking it yourself, go to Sagami, a Japanese restaurant in Collingswood. Theirs is great. Sagami has been there for more than 40 years. I mentioned this in here once before: some years back we went there for dinner and Clint Eastwood was sitting at the next table. Their tonkatsu made his day. http://sagaminj.com/index.html

Add on i love sanders but he also left multiple games last season. I’d be surprised if the eagles went with just 3. I have no problem with the idea of keeping three on the 53-man roster and putting a couple on the PS and activating them as needed. And I don't think any of their guys would be claimed on waivers so there's not a huge risk. I'd rather carry a seventh wideout (or an eleventh defensive lineman) than a fourth running back. You should go heavy at positions where you have depth and light at positions where your low end guys are kinda JAGGY. And to be honest, I don't think our running back depth is anything special.

I am guessing you prefer real meat to bean "meat”. Me too. That said falafel done well is not bad. But much like a hush puppy it needs to be fried correctly. I prefer a mix of fava and chickpeas. The best I had was double fried. Quick fry, rest to let it cook internally and quick fried again. We are too immune to immersion frying ala McDonald’s in the US. There is an art to frying.

I generally agree. However, I think that Fipp will want to weight in on a couple of spots at the bottom.

As for Dillard/Bull-rushes, that's not that big of a deal. Bull-rushes are the "least efficient" pass-rush move if your goal is quick pressure. It takes more time to push someone back. As long as our WRs/TEs can separate it should be ok. However, teams with good pass coverage AND strong bull-rush will cause problems for us. FYI, this is what the Pats/Lions run. quickest way to something is a straight line. That said he already pushed him into Wentz

Hope it survives because I do like roast chicken. Not much of a breakfast eater. Perfectly happy with loaded hash browns and a side of bacon once a year. Used to do that at the Waffle House outside Lehigh when my boy, a friend or two of his and I would go the TC. Beignets at Cafe du Monde remind me of my childhood. Little secret to avoid the crowds, if you are bypassing the Crescent City on I12, there is a Cafe du Monde in Hammond. Same great beignets. My mom’s brother lived nearby and my closest cousin grew up there, so going to NO, we usually took I 12 out of Baton Rouge to the causeway so we could visit my uncle. But that story of yours is why you eat local. Miner’s pies (think loaded pot pies) at a little joint in Anaconda MT. Flaky light crust and almost an Irish stew type filling. Some fifty years later, I can still taste and smell them when I think of them. We were camping in the National Forest west of there and panning for gold in the stream or river by the campground. One other family in the campground, a retired couple with an asthmatic boxer camping in a converted bread truck. The husband told my dad about the place so he drove into town and got us all miner pies for supper. Damn good. JR may appreciate this, there were still Burma Shave signs up on the backroads in sky country back then. Thanks for the tip about Hammond. The Café du Monde in Jackson Square is always mobbed. And thanks for the Burma Shave mention. That takes me way back; must be getting old. Our server at Vernick's described the roast chicken process. Amish chicken brined 24 hours in a mix of spices, salt water, apple vinegar, lemon, and soy sauce, steamed, then roasted in an 800 degree oven, slathered with chimichurri sauce. Not cheap, but divine. https://www.vernickphilly.com/vfd 4 minutes ago, greend said: I would be glad and honored to look stupid. Better me than Howie and Doug You and me both.

Idk i could see someone taking a shot on killins as a 4th running backs/return specialist (feel teams believe he could thrive in a return specialist role). Could they make it through? Likely. However we had this same discussion after the super bowl run where people wanted to just keep three knowing sproles was older and coming off injury, ajayi had knee issues, and clement was coming off a good rookie season. If sanders didn’t leave multiple games last year and clement hadn’t missed the majority of the last two seasons I’d be much more responsive to just 3 and some on practice squad. Frankly our 6 DE or 7 WR are just JAGs in my opinion. Is Burnett any better than warren, Holyfield or killins? Not really. (**Unless alshon is active by week 1. Then it changes but i still don’t see that). Is ostman/toohill the sixth DE better than warren, Holyfield or killins? Not really. He’s a backup that likely isn’t active on game days. And I’m one who has loved and still loves ostman. I also think ostman and Burnett are highly likely to also make it through waivers. Toohill maybe not but I’m not convinced someone would snag him either.

That's an interesting thought. I wonder if they keep Killens because of his return skills over Holyfield.

If there wasn't a numbers crunch he would probably make the team Good for Sweat. He needed to work on his techniques though. Thing with the beat reporters is in tweets they concentrate on a nice catch or a sack, maybe a PBU or interception. When I was reading day eight reports last night, one mentioned that in Wentz targets, the leaders were Ertz and Wars with 21 each. Mentioned Wentz’s chemistry with both. All they do is get open and catch the ball. Don’t see that in tweets. Don’t see, Dillard just stuffed________. That said, we should enjoy today and tomorrow. IIRC, ten open practices and then they go dark from the reporters. Two weeks dark and no PS games, I have no idea who grabs those bottom spots.

I mean Greg ward never did it in college yet we had him back there doing so last year. I still think teams are going to try and push him into that role. I believe clement had 2 kickoff returns and zero punt returns in college and the eagles made him into a kickoff returner prior to the injuries.

Sadly all we can rely on is 150 character tweets from guys who never played football watching 50 yards away. What can you do? Supposedly Saturday and Sunday are now open to reporters as well.
