I don’t think I could ever blame anyone for shooting at someone breaking into their home in the middle of the night. Look what happened to Sean Taylor.

I don’t really want to get into the politics of this, but I will just say three things. First, the founders wanted able bodied males to own and bring their own weapons as members of the militia. This was intended, in part, to allow the US to do without a standing army. Any and all small arms available to infantry of the era were explicitly stated as equipment of the militia in the Militia Act. To believe that they would want their militia to be stuck with 18th century technology in the 21st century is laughable. 

Second, the founders allowed private citizens to own cannons and artillery. Not just that, but warships with entire batteries of cannon. James Madison himself wrote a letter explicitly allowing for this under the second amendment and even encouraged their use against pirates.

Third, yes, they could absolutely imagine fully automatic weapons would be possible in the future. These are some of multi-shot firearms designed before the constitution:

Yeah I made the same argument when they restarted. It was 4 1/2 months of layoff. That’s an entire NBA off-season of time off. You weren’t going to get the same exact finish to the playoffs that you would’ve had if they didn’t have a stoppage. For instance Ben Simmons was not gonna play in April in the playoffs when it started. It just so happened he got hurt it played ouT that way anyways but that could’ve been a huge factor for the Sixers compared to if they would’ve started in April.

Additionally 4 1/2 months of time if you’re in the gym practicing and doing what you’re working on your craft then you could be a better player with that training and development then what you were when the season stopped. That’s an entire off-season of time. And there’s players who also opted out so that changes the dynamics. The only thing that was different was there was no NBA draft and there was no free agency otherwise it was an offseason of time off and a much different dynamic.

If someone is trying to get into your house you have every right to defend it.  You never know what their intention is.  They could be trying to rob you or kill you.  But its doubtful they are trying to get in so they can have a cup of coffee.  It's usually some kind of criminal intent.

Agreed. But I also think there is a very big difference between say a drunk guy accidentally trying to open the door vs someone or several people actively breaking the door down. I can’t say what I would do in the moment though so it’s hard to blame the homeowner.

I’m guessing the dodgers, brewers and giants canceling games. Other than that i don’t know cause nhl is still playing. And everyone else is besides the nba, WNBA and 3 Mlb teams

Another thing to take into consideration that I'm selfishly clinging to.  There are many more fringe/underpaid players, obviously non-guaranteed contracts, and mediocre players that make up a roster.  The 10th man on an NBA roster probably makes more than 95% of the players in the NFL and it's guaranteed.  

I'm sure the guaranteed contract guys and stars will make a scene, but the NFL isn't the NBA.  Some of these guys need to play.

I actually hate LeBron but dam he has never committed a crime and loves his kids and always was actually a good guy and took care of his family even with his opinions and he gets trashed so bad.

Honestly I tend to believe some of the other guys in the 70s and 80s probably would’ve been trashed to if we had social media then. I feels like it’s just the time we live in.
