Why weren't arenas being used as poling places prior to this?

Now that they are,  how many people will actually be assigned to vote there?

You can imagine a large capacity,  but usually based on geography so might not really serve as many as you'd think an arena theoretically can.

Curious how it'll work.  Feel like if it was convenient for a lot of people to go there,  they'd already be in use.

Look at where Wells Fargo is.  But in York, the Revolution park is walkable for some inner city neighborhood.  I would point out the all but one of the schools in my district isn’t convenient for most but churches and municipal buildings are.

You do know there's a difference between absentee voting and mail in voting.

Do i have to explain it to you?

Not at all.  Still has to be placed in a mailbox and mailed by the broken USPS.

Glad to hear that. You'd be surprised by the number of people who think they're the same.

So i guess Fla has cleaned up their voter registration rolls. Good for them

what we need is all hands on deck.  I am driving people who can't/don't drive to their voting sites and back home on election night.

Unless they’re voting for trump, they can find their own ride, right?

😂😂

I mean I can see Barclay's being able to conveniently serve a ton of people being right in the middle of the Bronx.

But I dont see a lot of residences too close to the philly sports complex. I dont think it really makes sense for every arena to be doing this. Next youll have Greta Thurnberg protesting outside these huge arenas that are open to serve only like 5,000 people cause to open those buildings theyll be killing our planet.

Good for you. That is my second choice to poll worker and as a retiree, I will do it all day. I don’t care what party a person belongs to or who they vote for.  I just want anybody eligible to vote to have the opportunity to do so.

i encourage everyone to Google and read your states’ voting laws. And if your legislators are in session, check out any pending bills.  The Republicans in PA have proposed Senate Bill 10.  I think Wolf would sign it because it fits a lot of what he proposed.  I have been corresponding with my state senator on another issue raised from one of the bills she sponsors and raised Senate Bill 10 and my thoughts on it. (Yes, we write back and forth.  Despite what our resident socialist thinks about politicians, a lot serve and don’t profit a lot.  Most local - Congress, state senators, state representatives, borough council members or township supervisors, city council members and even most mayors are more than happy to exchange thoughts with constituents.).

Every state besides NY, TX, IN, TN, SC, LA, and MS allow absentee voting by request  And of course all voters in WA, OR, CA, NV, UT, CO, NJ, DE will receive ballots in the mail.  75% of voters can receive a mail in ballot. As a nation, it appears our election officials have the matter under control.

Not necessarily.  If Senate Bill 10 passes you can drop off your ballot at a secure box at the Board of Elections in your county or to your district’s election judge on the date of the election. That is a Republican bill, BTW.  Want something different, communicate it to your senator or representative.  I have.  I told them I want early voting next year or the following.

I don't discriminate.  I don't ask.  I just drive because they need help.  I'm in the land of seniors that need this type of assistance.

If that holds true, then I commend you.

Can absentee ballots be dropped off at the boxes or only mailed ballots?

You mean like all mail in voting is rigged and ripe for corruption (Florida notwithstanding) or after how many years of successfully counting votes, in just the four years between 2016 and 2020 our voting system has become so broken and unreliable we may not know the results of this election for months or even years after the election.

The excuses are pumping like free gas

If electoral college does not announce president by jan 20 , Nancy Pelosi  becomes president.....fact

Trump doesn't stay past jan 20 ,it the law

Sure. Absentee ballots are requested by the voter.  The county clerk (in my state) verifies the request with the registration rolls and the person is given a ballot. On in many cases the ballot is sent to the address of the voter.

With mail in balloting as it is being proposed  the county clerk would have to mail a ballot to ALL voters on the registration rolls. The problem with this is  many counties have out of date rolls. Since these ballots aren't specifically requested they could be sent to people who have died or moved to another location.

I recently read that Texas has been cleaning up their rolls and have found over 900,000 registrations that were invalid. (people who had died or had moved)

I'm sure you want only legal voters to cast ballots. You don't want your vote nullified by someone who isn't allowed to cast a vote do you?

Serious question, how many arenas are even under team ownership? I know the Linc is not and only a small handful of NFL stadiums are. Maybe it’s different with smaller arenas?

The key point is BY REQUEST.

I did a quick Google search and it wasn't easy to find so I gave up.  It's a good question.  Saw a headline that MSG will participate.

In Mo. absentee ballots can be filled out on the spot when you request it or cast anytime before or on the date of the election.

I haven't lived in Pa for 45 years so i have no idea about their laws.

Nah, it isn't.   The key point is that we don't have a corrupt and unreliable voting system. that cant be trusted whether voting by mail, by absentee, or at a polling site..  Anyway, we've upset 4for4 and while I could go on, he makes a good point:

But these votes are verified once received. And the punishment for voter fraud is so severe, it would be stupid to risk jail time for just 1 vote.

That's a good system.   Nice easy and simple.  Sorry 4for4 I'm officially done.
