From what I’ve heard, they think Hightower is a really smart football player, and he’s more fluid in his route running (than Quez Watkins).

Yea, I listened to the 71 minute cast from yesterday, and I heard him say that.

Said they drafted Reagor because of his FBI (football IQ), but Hightower has shown to be right there with Jalen.

He also said Watkins is "pushing" that 53 as well, in terms of overall skills.

Also, I have to agree with LM about Jeffery.  Unless he is back on the field by this coming week, getting that rhythm with Carson and re-meshing with this team, I don't want to see him active week 1.

Good day!  Phils win last night, Flyers play tonight,  Training camp updates with JP at LT and Pryor at RG.  Only downer is I'm off to work in 10 minutes.

Something for discussion before training camp updates.

A couple of notes here to combat media misinformation.  Follow the facts... Not the agenda, people.

1) Carrying a rifle across state lines is perfectly legal.  However, Kyle's lawyer is stating that the gun belonged to his friend, a Wisoncsin resident, so the gun never left the state of Wisconsin.  This doesn't mean it is right for him to have the firearm, the courts will decide this.

2) Under Wisconsin statues, anyone under 18 who "goes armed" with any deadly weapon is only guilty of a class A misdeamnor.  However, John Monroe, a lawyer who specializes in gun rights cases believes there is an exception for rifles and shotguns, intended to allow people age 16 and 17 to hunt could apply.

Also (and most importantly), 10 US Code 246 states that the minimum age to be a US militia member is 17.  We know Kyle was posted at the gas station with a militia group, which could mean he was a part of this group and possibly legally able to carry his firearm.  Will this hold up in court? Was Kyle privvy to this? We don't know. (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/10/246#:~:text=The%20militia%20of%20the%20United,United%20States%20who%20are%20members)

3) Kyle lives in Antioch, IL and traveled to Kenosha, WI. This is a 20-30 minute drive depending on what time I looked. And he claimed he worked in Kenosha. He was not an out of state agitator.  He came to help defend a friend or families business (different reports, it’s unclear still) and offer aid to the non aggressive protestors.

4) Kyle is a former member of a youth police cadet program, according to police.

5) He was scrubbing BLM graffiti off of buildings earlier in the day and offering medical aid to protestors, yelling he was an EMT and wanting to offer his services.  This is caught on video/photos.

6) All 3 shootings he was involved in were justified uses of lethal force. 1st guy charged him and threw an unknown object at him then continued to charge after missing. In one video, you can see a rioter fire the first shot into the air (it’s been freeze frames many times) with a pistol as Kyle is running, meaing Kyle did not fire the first shot and most likely thought he was being shot at by the man chasing and yelling obscentities at him.  2nd guy clubbed him with a skateboard in the head and got hands on his rifle to take it. 3rd guy presented a pistol and aimed it at Kyle’s head.

7) He was not running from the 1st guy he shot. He called 911 and attempted to get police to the location to assist him and the man he shot.  He also attempted to render aid. He was chased off by the crowd that the next 2 assailants came from.

8)He ran to police after the last engagement with his hands up declaring what happened.  He did not try to flee, he immediately tried to turn himself in.

9) There is 0 evidence of being racially motivated or having came to incite violence. He did not come looking for a fight, he came to help and defend.  There is a lot of evidence in the videos that reinforce this.

10) Joseph Rosenbaum, who has a rap sheet a mile wide (https://www.bailbondshq.com/arizona/azdoc-inmate-JOSEPH/172556) and was the first man Kyle shot, was filmed earlier that day shouting at militia members, "shoot me ni**a" while they were guarding a local business from violent rioters.

11) Comments on social media about some of the videos, from purported witnesses, indicated that Rittenhouse may have verbally confronted someone who was attempting to damage cars, and that the person then began chasing Rittenhouse, which is what prompted him to flee. It's unclear exactly what prompted the initial confrontation.

The media has spun an immediate narrative that this man cold blood executed 3 people. That is simply not the truth and the very large amount of video from before during and after the event shows that.

Sorry folks. I know you want this to fall on Trump, or Republicans. You can’t spin this one.  The video evidence is everywhere, not just the clips the MSM is showing you.  These people can't handle the truth as it causes severe cognitive dissonance.  They need an enemy, a bad guy, and a white patriot is the perfect target because it embodies everything they hate and despise.

They don't even recommend screening until you're 55 unless you have a family history

Since there's no football related stuff at the moment

Can anyone think of an NBA team that has traded away more talent than the 76ers and got so little in return?

Chamberlain for Darrel Imhoff

Moses for Jeff Ruland

Barkley for Jeff Hornacek.

Per the Constitution, the sitting president must vacate office when the term ends at noon on Jan. 20 of the given year.

It’s true that the speaker of the house is next in the line of succession after the president and vice president

That is not what I meant nor what I said.  I said that Pelosi may not be the Speaker and that it is incorrect to assume her party would give her the Speakership given your scenario.  What I meant is Speaker is a position elected in the House and there is nothing set in stone that if it looks like the Electoral College won’t be able to select a president that the House might not select a new speaker. The speaker is selected after each election and the new session of Congress begins January 3rd hence the speaker would likely be selected before the Electoral College is set to vote.  Further, the Constitution doesn’t say the speaker has to be a sitting member of the House.  For example, the Democratic Caucus could select Biden as their candidate for Speaker.  While no non member has ever been elected, non members have received votes.  While traditionally each party caucus nominates a candidate, there is no requirement that a representative from that party vote for that candidate.  In the 2019 election of Speaker, 18 votes were cast for persons that were not party candidates. Those included two votes for Tammy Duckworth (US Senator), and one each for Biden and Stacey Abrams (private citizens at the time).  There is nothing from preventing a coalition of moderates from both parties and independents from voting for and electing a speaker that neither party caucus nominates. Yes, the Speaker is next in line if the Electoral College fails but there are all sorts of possibilities besides Pelosi becoming president.

So, Caplan was saying his WRs for week 1 are:

Jeffery, Jackson, Reagor, JJAW, Hightower, Ward.

Obviously that's assuming Alshon's off the pup, but my question is why Hightower over Quez Watkins?  What does 1 do better than the other?

Hightower is much better at change of direction, feints and sharpness of cuts.  He is a better candidate, hence why they picked him over Quez.

If a recovered Jeffery is better than Quez, they go Jeffery. There are fifteen million reasons not to sit him if he is ready and recovered. Problem with Quez is Dillard and Brooks.  Takes time for him to get open with speed.  Needs to get open with route running quickly as Carson will have a couple of seconds to read and throw.  People denigrate Ward for catching shorter passes.  Folks, that is what is open most of the time.  If the receiver isn’t open in the first twenty yards on a free release, chances are as to when the QB must make a decision and throw the ball, the receiver isn’t open even if our eyes tell us that at forty yards down the field the receiver appears open.

Yeah... Hightower was the more refined prospect of the two. Reasons why he was the higher pick. And also being the higher pick, hes got inside track to the roster spot as well. Especially since he has been performing pretty well in camp.

Quez Watkins sounds more impressive than I expected. And I like Watkins as a prospect. But he was more raw. And hes been making plays consistently in camp even on our more experienced CBs.

I really dislike Jeffery, and Ward making it over him. One of those guys (preferrably Jeffery) has got to go.

Not sure a guy like Quez will stick on the practice squad.

Could add iverson to that. Not like they got a ton for him either. Got Andre Miller, joe smith and 2 2007 first who were Jason smith and the other was traded. Miller was ok but joe smith was a bust before he got to philly.

its a big reason why I’ve said i don’t trust them to trade Simmons or embiid. They likely get back garbage

I never felt so meh... about losing a key starter for the season. It feels like this affects absolutely nothing.

Another receiver I thought was going to be good that kinda fizzled out

Watkins may not make it through waivers to get to the PS.

If teams really are putting stock into camp reports, yeah, it’ll be tough.

If camp reports are true at all, I see no reason to cut Watkins or Hightower. We have one WR on the roster guaranteed to be here in 2021. If a receiver flashes potential to be a contributor on the outside for next season we absolutely need to nurture them them this year.

Watkins is on this team. No doubt in my mind. Feel free to check me very soon.

LT- Rather see Driscoll or Mailata . Man when you see Mailata , he's like 1.5 times the size of Dillard, if that boy can move his feet, but yeah being a Rugby player with no "Football" snaps?

Figure Driscoll knows the drill better. Question for me at that point "actually" for both because the Iggles do this a lot with guys.

In some cases, you gotta make a call. Either the guy can play or he can't. Keeping him around for 4 years making believe someday he might?

Not exactly a great way to spend your Sunday. More like a glorified blocking bag.

I cant see watkins being cut. Reports are he has good chemistry with Wentz has been good in camp and better in red zone in camp.

No reason to keep jeffrey on active list and risk losing watkins.

If not for jeffreys contract dude would have been cut a while ago.

One really odd thing is that Doug didn't mention Tega as an option, even though he played LT at Auburn when Driscoll was on the right side. It may have just have been an oversight, but it seems odd that a guy who had a much higher draft projection than Driscoll or Pryor and who has a lot of experience at the position doesn't even get mentioned as an option.
