I don’t think he’s a good enough player to deal with the headaches (reportedly), and I certainly don’t think he’d be happy to come to Philly and play behind Sanders. He can help form a good 1-2 punch in a power system, sorta like Jordan Howard (whom I think the Dolphins overpaid too), so I’m not saying he’s a bum. Maybe he needed to be humbled. Maybe he just had to get out of Jacksonville. It’s fairly telling that the coaching staff hasn’t wanted him there for some time. And none of the other 31 teams would give a conditional 7 for him. For 1 year without needing to give up draft picks, I'm all for the (minimal) risk. He has never been behind even an average OL in his career yet. We may not have that anymore but it should be better than what he's had. He should realize a good season in a good situation can set him up for another contract with someone else. If he misbehaves, cut him. No big deal... Eagles wanted a vet back and didn't land any. They should be interested. Sanders is already hurt. We don't really have another guy we should trust to start on our depth chart behind him if he gets hurt again in the regular season. Fournette would be that insurance. Now the media instead is trying to sell us on Holyfield looking good. Um... no thanks. I'll take Fournette instead. Fournette averaged over 3 years per carry behind no OL and with Bortles at QB and loaded boxes focused on him. Here, with our OL, Wentz, and our speed at WR he will eat. He should be a better version of Blount. He's far more explosive. He definitely worth the risk, and a 1 year 4 million deal. We have plenty of cap space left. To get back to our super bowl year style offense we had some speed at WR, and we had a smash mouth running game that consisted of TWO punishing runners. Sanders can be great, but hes 1. Super bowl year had Blount and Ajayi. Fournette is that 2nd guy we need to replicate that type of ball control offense. To tire defenses, and run out clocks when we have a lead.

August 31, 20205 yr Back to football...I do think it's becoming increasingly evident that Peters did, if fact, demand a not insignificant raise if they want him to play LT. And if that is true...I would absolutely cut him. Being a HOF and an "all-time Eagle great" is a 2 way street. Just as many fans (and likely many within NovaCare) want to treat this very delicately because of his stature with the team, so too should he. He made $100m off this team. His time here is his legacy. Squeezing a team for more money in a moment of need post-injury is the lowest of low things a player can do. It is truly without precedent. I'll ask again: what would Bill Belichick do?

Fournette isn't bad; he just needs to be in an offense that is willing to run from under center. IMO, he'd be a great backup to Derrick Henry in Tennessee.

Only 6% are COVID only deaths, all others died WITH covid with and average of 2.6 underlying conditions. Am I not understanding this? Under Comorbidities It's incorrect because co-morbidity factors are NORMAL in almost all deaths. Most deaths aren't just one cause. The whole article is misleading if you don't know how to interpret medical data. On CDC look up Excess Deaths. That is a statistical model that looks one the average of the last however many years and looks at a normal number of deaths and the number of deaths we are seeing now. If you take those numbers and compare them the 180K deaths associated with covid are probably correct if not a little low. The issue is people are looking at things with a partisan or confirmation biased lens. People want to latch on to the 5 or 10% outlier articles to justify their feelings. If 90% of the scientific/medical community says it's a problem, maybe we should listen. That's going to be my only post on that topic in this thread. Just please stop talking about things you don't truly understand. I don't truly understand it either, hence why I will follow the suggestions of the medical professionals. I do understand statistics to a decent degree and those also say there is a problem, so yeah.

But his number is pretty high at a 11 mill base that any team that trades for him would have to take on. Not to mention 11.6 next year. Viks only take a 2 mill hit this year, 2 mill next year.

The best case scenario is getting more independents into congress, or supporting candidates that do not accept corporate money. Good luck winning an election that way though.

I’m guessing on the open market he’s still going to get decently good money from a team and multiple years. actually looking at his contract I probably make the trade and make the pick conditional on him making the roster. I work with him over the next couple days to restructure and if he doesn’t I can just release him and my cap hit is nothing if I’m reading it correctly. Minnesota ensues 2 mil dead money and the eagles if released would just clear the 11 mil.

I've seen obvious deaths due to neurological reasons recorded as COVID deaths. I've seen neurological deaths in COVID+ patients that very well may have been precipitated/accelerated by the COVID infection. At the population level, it would take some major AI-driven computing and statistical horsepower to dissect through the incidence of various deaths (MI's, pneumonia, cancer, even trauma) in a normal year compared to what we have seen in COVID+ patients with these same comorbidities to actually get a handle on it. No one is doing this, despite a few weak papers that make a passing attempt to tie it all together. There are true COVID only deaths, COVID accelerated/contributed deaths, and COVID coincident deaths. It's very, very hard to get the numbers on each category. that data is out there already.

Like i responded to lean i make a restructure conditioned as part of the deal. But i would make the restructure more enticing for him then Minnesota’s idea to get it done. I still believe he’d get decent money on the open market if he reaches the market. Likely gonna have to pay somewhat a premium price anyway cause I’m guessing 3-5 teams going for him. so based off sportrac he has 2 mil dead money for Minnesota and then clears 11 mil cap for them if they deal him. I believe the eagles would ensue the 11 mil but if they release him no dead money. I’d make the trade with the pick conditional on him making the 53 man roster. Try to get a better deal done over the next week and a half. If i can’t then release him.

Not to mention we never have success with any Gmen players coming to Philly. Atleast I cant think of one ever. Mark Bavaro played pretty well for us even though he was well past his prime.
