Yikes.

Really hope this doesn't happen to football.

It will but probably impact both teams.

So basically every metric that exists to evaluate qb performance shows Wentz being better than Allen?

I dont see any credible argument.

I like Josh Allen more than most; he's a good player and I think he is making strides .... but I don't see him as a top 100 player, and I likely wouldn't put him in the top 15 NFL QBs yet.

It will. Football is a contact sport, baseball not.

I like josh Allen as well, hes not the most polished guy but hes gritty and fun to watch. Having said that i wouldnt put him top 15 qbs quite yet but he has potential.

Greg Cosell did a recent discussion on just that philosophy and its one i agree with.

i think hargrave will prove to be a great signing

Hargrave seems capable of Jernigan 2017 level of play, which would be a huge boost to this defense.

I think Hargrave can be better than Jermigan. Timmy was good against the run and super high motor but as a pass rusher he was just average.

I think hargrave has the skill set and ability to be a more productive pass rusher than timmy was.

Hudson has a legit case. I don’t think Ryan Kelly of the Colts is better than kelce yet. Definitely in the same tier. He is Really good though.

I think mack about 3-4 years ago was the best center in the league. I still think he’s good. But I’d take kelce over him at this stage. I also think mccoy of the saints is going to be really good in a couple years.

Kid to keep your eye on is Biadsz. Where'd Runyan's boy wind up?

Huge jump from College to Pros. Pro Linemen are pure animals. I like the Auburn kid we took Driscoll from what I caught of him . Where he figures in? Depends. Sucks for some of those guys to have a shortened camp. Might of been a free for all despite best laid plans.

Better yet, how many games they playing? This is such a weird year.  Gonna go back to making a Guardians of the Galaxy tape for D pursuers . LOL

Hargrave is a much better player than 2017 Jernigan. And 2017 Jernigan was good.

Who had the Phillies total wins at 1 for the season?

That's another league that I have no clue how they will determine draft order. Season won't finish much like the NFL.

There’s really only 2 options.

Repeat the previous order, or random selection.

Runyan went to the Packers. He's not his father, it's fair to say. I can't see Driscoll making it. He's got good technique and decent feet but he's not long enough for tackle or strong enough for guard and it doesn't look to me like he's got the kind of body to put on another 20 pounds. Center? Maybe. Prince, OTOH, has a good shot if the knee is OK.

Driscoll is both large enough and athletic enough for center. I do wonder if he can handle the mental game.

Driscoll's likely path is Vaitai: a bad starter but will always be active as he can play multiple spots.

This always confuses me.  Does this mean he get gets an injury settlement or if he clears waivers then he comes back to IR?  Not worried either way, don't see a team beating down the door for a 5th DE recovering from a torn ACL with this year the way it is.

No. If he was waived/injured then he either gets an injury settlement or reverts to IR if he clears waivers. Failed Physical designation is a different technicality where he gets some sort of injury payout but is off the team.

Actually, Vaitai was a pretty good starter. It's just that he went in for Peters, or Lane, or Brooks - three all-pros.

There's a reason he's getting $10M a year now. It's not just versatility, it's that he can play four spots well; that's rare. Leave him along in one spot, a luxury he's never had, and he'll settle in just fine.

I think if he were a pretty good starter at LT we wouldn’t have traded up for Dillard.

This is just the reality of what we’re dealing with. Sports should not be played right now.

While i can't disagree with your logic at what point do you think it's realistic to go back to playing football?

If the standard is no China Virus cases we might be seeing the end of spectator sports.

I'm not trying to be a dick, it's an honest question

He shockingly cracks the top 15, ranking 11th and in tier 2.

Excerpt:

Wentz inched upward after starting all 16 regular-season games for the first time since his rookie season. He still lost ground to surging NFC East rival Dak Prescott, with only a few votes separating the Philly and Dallas quarterbacks. They combined for eight Tier 1 votes.

"He was a one at a point, but we played him this past year and I think he lost a little bit physically,” an exec who placed Wentz in the second tier said. "Some of it was, he did not have the same weapons he had early on. But I also thought there were some inconsistencies in his game that I did not see early on. Some of it may be because of the knee injury. It is also interesting out of there you hear guys wanted (Nick) Foles over him. It sounds like there might be something underlying there.”

There were no psychologists on the voting panel this year. No formally accredited ones, anyway. But there were some interesting analyses of an unusual situation, one where the team never played better than when the anointed franchise quarterback was lost and the backup won it all.

"You have these veteran receivers there who want their targets, you had (Nelson) Agholor struggling with drops in a contract year and then you have a young quarterback whose personality might not be strong enough to navigate all that,” an exec said. "The quarterback needs to be able to say, ‘Shut the eff up, get in the huddle, this is the play and I’m going to go through my progressions’ instead of worrying about a guy’s targets. If you noticed, when they started playing good, it was when they had these no-names at receiver, almost like Wentz could finally just play the offense.”

The Eagles drafted three receivers this year. Perhaps those wideouts can grow with their quarterback instead of putting pressure on him. Other voters thought Wentz could threaten the top tier if he improved his risk management. They saw a quarterback who too frequently treats every play like the final play of a game the Eagles are trailing by a touchdown.

"I really like the guy and when he plays he can be a one,” a former GM said, "but injuries and the fact that they did not need him to win a Super Bowl against the Patriots, and they won with a guy I think is a four, makes it tough to push him higher. People say he is elite and at times he might be, but not consistent.”
