We really lucked out with the Wentz deal

The Fans did but there was no luck involved. Howie wanted to lock him up and Wentz had been injured 2 years in a row and wanted some security. That and he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that seeks the prestige of being the highest paid player.

It is now clear that Dak was right about his value. That $40mm asking price that we all laughed at is probably where he should/will end up.

That’s someone I’d be interested in as our third TE or for a PS spot.

Not sure hed be any better than Tongai at this point whose had a full(ish) training camp with eagles but could be a good prospect, much better than Richard Rodgers😒

Apparently he was injured most of camp, so he sounds like a perfect fit.

It’s really not even all about the 40 mil per year. It’s about the guaranteed money he could accumulate if he plays it out like cousins. Supposedly Dallas was offering around 100 mil in guaranteed money. This year alone under the franchise tag he’s gonna earn around 31 mil guaranteed. If he’s franchised again next year (very likely if Dallas doesn’t give him the contract he wants) It jumps to around 37 mil with it being the second time and top 5 average QB numbers jumping up. So in two years he’d earn roughly around 68 mil guaranteed. So in two years he nearly getting that complete guarantee. After the next two years if he just plays well he hits free agency and could get a deal similar to cousins. So let’s say he gets a cousins type deal at 84 mil guaranteed For 3 years (my guess it’s likely way more. Closer to 3 years 110 on the open market). He’d have Roughly 150 mil in guaranteed money for 5 years which is around 50 mil more than Dallas is offering him in a 5 year deal. He and his agent are betting on him and his health. But if he does what he has he’s going to make Much more than what Dallas is Offering him in terms of guaranteed money.

So you really think Army and Navy would be playing if this virus was that horrible??Playing football is more important to Army and Navy than the safety of their future leaders??

I get why the Big Ten and others aren’t playing... the fear of lawsuits. All I’m saying is that if this virus made it 1% more unsafe to play football that I couldn’t imagine our military academies participating.

What I think is not relevant, which is the point.

Yeah I was wrong earlier when I said they’d be breaking down low level games. Should have remembered it was still ESPN

Neither is what I think but it’s called a discussion board

Watson is hurt even more than Wentz. Wentz probably didn’t try to break the bank with his contract, but these new QB deals are crazy.

Was really rooting for him.

Whether or not he is not the point. Just explaining what I think most folks would assume was Wentz’s mindset for taking a relatively modest deal.

An apparent miss by Stoutland.

also a possibility

I think they've got to bring someone in... I mean another injury at OT and we are looking at Mailata as next man up. And let's be honest with this team? That's a real likelihood.

yeah correct , wentz already takes a beating and i'm worried this season he might get hit more.

Bausby, guy had some hype in camp a few years back. Apparently he was really fast gotta be more than fast to make it in the league.

He played well for Denver too then he had a scary neck injury I believe.

Wow remember the Eli Harold hype for all of 2 weeks.

Oh I don't think there's any doubt about that this year. This year will really test just how durable he can be.

We shall see. I liked Bates too, but he's not a starter for them. Heck, he may not even dress on game day.

Then there was this.  My lord.  You would think they could be positive about something.  Like you I turned it off.

This is some tank by Jacksonville.

Glennon will be re signed after week 1 so they don’t have to guarantee his contract.  Strictly cap maneuvering.

That and... neither are very good anyway so not so much part of a move to tank but just a bad team with a lot of bad players.
