Thats a pretty big "Fail" on Howie's part if your giving up on a 4th rounder after one year. Could say the same for Bulter on the Cards. Normally a 4th rounder is given a few years. Usually.

Miller was an unathletic DE with no pass rush potential, no idea why they drafted him.

At least the 2020 draft had them going athletic upside.

Would have to see what the market has out there after cuts. Kind of feels likely they go with what they have. I think parks returns week 3. Have to hope slay and maddox stay healthy. Frankly i was worried about the outside corner position a week ago. I feel even more now. They should’ve addressed it in the draft to give maddox competition and groom the kid for the future. They didn’t.

Wonder how Schwartz feels about Maddox.  Does he really think he's the guy for #2.  Or do they look to add a starter...  Jettisoning the guys who were in comp with Avonte make me think they just might.

Kinda of sad on Douglas. I still like him but I understand since he doesnt fit our scheme. I honestly dont see our new DC next year coming in that will fit his scheme as well. Hes a cover 2 type corner.

Lol. I think maddox is the starter this year. I believe the eagles always saw nrc as a guy they have this year. If things go south at the deadline try to deal him. Or if he plays well they let him walk and cash in on the comp pick and move maddox back to slot next year. And draft a young corner high.

LOL. The best one is a safety in Miami.

Sorry if I'm heartless but I'm guessing said player didn't take advantage of his most likely free education.  Welcome to the real world kid.  Put your degree to work.

Hestor.

Hestor.

Huh?

These are back of the roster guys.  If they keep Rudy Ford over Ostman I'll be disappointed.  Rudy Ford had a whole season to show that he was some kid of ST ace and didn't do a thing.  Ostman has busted it for 3 years, fought through torn ACL and continually impresses in practice.  Hope he finds it back to the PS.

So pumped to watch Slay this season.  I've forgotten what good CB play looks like.

Hestor.

Eagles actually had both.

Bruce Hector and Treyvon Hester

Remember back when we had both?  That next summer people always kept mixing them up on here when we were getting ready for cuts again.  Hestor played very well the year prior.

Doesn't really matter because we ended up cutting both I think.

Wow, I was still under the impression they had Opeta as one of our top backups.

Damn this truncated offseason...

Salty.

Disappointed they cut Ostman. He's had two good camps in a row.  Definitely thought he earned a spot.

Yup - I mean Matt Ware was essentially a special teamer and backup safety.  He probably had the next best career

You're not alone. Douglas didn't fit Schwartz' scheme, that's for sure. I hope for Rasul's sake he ends up some place where he and the scheme mesh.

I know folks are going to slam the 2017 draft over the next few days. Two mediocre starters and nothing else four years later is not a good look. I always thought the Douglas and Pumphrey picks were egregiously bad; Douglas couldn't run and Pumphrey didn't have the elite athleticism to compensate for his lack of size. On the other hand, Barnett and Clement (UDFA, I know) came up huge in the playoffs, and you could argue the Eagles don't win the Super Bowl without them. Hollins started off looking good, but hasn't been the same since the injuries. Jones was a worthwhile gamble, in my opinion. The only way I can definitively call Jones a bad pick from a process perspective is if the Eagles overlooked red flags about his mental toughness.

It's gonna sound like a cop out, but I can't muster a definitive stance on that draft.

We can pay a wooden post a million dollars too. It's like throwing the football at a wooden post.

ESP said he thinks the top candidates to come back are Killins, Holyfield, and either Opeta or Ostman...

Maybe he needs a updated definition of balled out.
