Other than strength, a lot to like in Toohill's profile. We have enough power rushers.

Sorry, I don’t compare a sport to a life or death situation.

It’s like if you ran a bar and needed a bartender to cover for a server who called in sick and they refused to do it.

And we seriously have no idea if Peters will even be that good at right guard.

Yea, cutting him makes no sense whatsoever.  Wentz would walk.

Possibly, but I'll still take him over Glenn and Pryor over there any day. Pryor isn't cut out for LT and Glenn stinks these days.

Glenn graded out as an average tackle last year.

You really think Belichick wouldn’t cut him? Wentz would not walk either

Glenn @LT with Pryor backing up Peters @RG > Pryor at LT and Herbig backing up Peters.

It's obviously an analogy, but I was trying to convey that the Wentz's health may be directly affected by who plays left tackle. Their job is to protect him from being hit. A guy with an injury history. I'm not gonna F around with that.

Then we shall see I guess. I think there's a reason he's unemployed, and Bengals fans weren't a fan of his play there. I always trust a fan base first over the PFF type sites, which are often way off. Ultimately, whatever the Eagles do, they gotta get it right. If they, say, sign Glenn and put him there, he plays terribly, then eventually cave to Peters it would be a bad look all around.

Not seeing a name in the cuts from other teams that jumps out at me.  You guys see anyone you like ??

Amukamara is all I got

  • I don't expect many claims.  No preseason film to work with.  Also, I believe that for this season, there will be less poaching due to the extenuating circumstances.
  • Some combination of Parks, Avery, and Reagor will end up on IR.  I can guarantee Parks.  Only reason they kept 6 S.
  • Reminder, can't put Jeffrey on IR.  They just told the league he is healthy enough to come off of PUP.  Can't turn around and say he is injured for IR.
  • Yes, the 2017 draft sucked.
  • Wonder which four PS players will be protected.  Looking at their roster construction, you'd think at least one OL and RB.

Tra Thomas watched him and thought he’d be fine too.

Belichick wouldn't cut him if he was counting on him at RG.  But I don't think it's as confrontational as some are making it.

Maybe Glenn's name was already in the conversation back when this started.

I thought he was a definite for the PS back in May.  A pleasant surprise.

Kempski asked specifically about those players (maybe not Avery) and Howie said one of the names would.

Credit to Barwin.

This article on Glenn put my mind at ease a little. Seems like we'd get at least Big V level performance at LT.

Then we'll see. Personally, I'd give whatever money Glenn would get to Peters, and move Pryor to RG. Peters was pretty good last year excluding the Seattle playoff game. Consider me very skeptical about Cordy Glenn. If they sign him and he's good I'll give them credit.

Just to piggy back the PS protection is a weekly thing and not a permanent designation.  You can protect the same 4 all year but would have to do it each week. Starts Tuesday at 4PM all the way up to the game. Teams have a small window to poach anyone.

The three game minimum makes it less of an onerous option.

Avery on IR this week to hopefully bring back Ostman or a 9th OL makes sense.

8 days til the opener. I think the Washington Football Team is more talented than most think they are. Their coaching staff was a mess last year. While they may be at a bit of a disadvantage early with a new coaching staff in a shortened camp, no off-season work, and no preseason, their coaching staff will be improved. That DL will be quite the first test for the OL. On offense, Terry McLaurin is a beast and Stevin Sims is nice a player. Slay vs. McLaurin should be interesting. A lot will be on Wentz's shoulders, as usual. He needs to prove he's the top 5-8 QB we think he is. I'm excited to see some of the new looks on offense with Scangarello. I think we'll see some WR reverses this year. Ideally with Reagor, but I could see DeSean or Hightower doing it until he gets back.

To clarify, you mean until THIS Tuesday.  Once they pass through, the protection can be seamless all season.  Correct?

I hope all this Cordy Glenn and talking up Peters at RG stuff is posturing. If not, it would be organizational malpractice to have anyone other than Peters at left tackle. They are going to get Wentz absolutely killed.

And I know Peters is being a ****, but sometimes in life ya gotta take the L and bite the bullet to do what you gotta do to survive. What the Eagles do at that position could make or break their entire season. Let's hope sanity prevails and they don't let their pride have to win every battle at the expense of their franchise QB.

If Glenn is healthy he’s not a bad option. Has played guard and tackle. He’s competent. He only played 5 games last year is the bigger concern.

Nope. It’s a weekly schedule that runs through the season. So basically every Tuesday it’s open hunting till 4, then the protection applies for the rest of the week
