September 6, 20205 yr Top offense guys never showed up this series. Flyers need to move some of these old guys.

But... since they aren't even in the playoffs, posting the cup pic makes you just as lame as a Cowboys fan flaunting ancient history.

September 6, 20205 yr Jones/Douglas/Miller cuts are an ugly trifecta. Hopefully Howie has turned over a new leaf with his drafting. Yet, I feel like we've been saying that about his drafts for 10 years.
September 6, 20205 yr Big Opportunity for one of these young guys Hightower or Watkins to really grab a spot in this league. Week one's wide open for both of them unless somebody knows something about Alshon. Alshon ready to roll ?

Both guys are getting signed, and I would imagine that Douglas gets a lot of playing time somewhere this season.

Missing on Miller is whatever, but we need to stop drafting players with fatal flaws with premium picks — Jones’ Achilles and Douglas’ speed.

Ummm im not a penguins fan i think hockey is stupid but if flaunting a stanley cup that was won in 2017 means this poster is no better than a cowboys fan then same logic every eagle from now on that flaunts the eagles 2017 super bowl is no better than a cowboy fan???😳

That feeds into the unending drafting/coaching/fit debate for the ultimate success or failure of players. All 3 matter in determining if someone is a success or bust. I don't think Schwartz does a good job with the secondary. I think that's his biggest weakness as a coach. While that would suggest that Jones/Douglas might have success elsewhere, they also aren't the kind of talents that are going to have big upside as afterthought additions on other teams. Some guys lose those early years and never have another chance to develop, even if they were potentially good picks ruined by a coach. It's chicken and egg...I'm not necessarily saying Schwartz ruined them.

September 6, 20205 yr Names that stand out to me looking through the NFL cuts today Dolphins cut Ballage. Somewhat interesting as a 4th RB. Patriots cut Lamar Miller Jets cut CB Javelin Guidry who ran 4.2 this year. Dont mind trying to get him on the PS. Ravens cut Nigel Warrior. I was interested in him in the draft. Would like to see him over Epps or Ford cause they suck anyway. As previously mentioned, Toth- would like to get him back on our practice squad. Maybe a guy worth us protecting next time someone tries to sign him. Bengals also cut AJ Green who is a nice CB/S rookie prospect. May? be better than Arnold for our PS but I guess we are likely to stick with the guy we know for the last few weeks. Steelers cut S Antione Brooks. Hes gotta be a PS guy everyone would be interested in. This year's Joe Ostman in the draft- Derek Tuszka was cut by the Broncos. Worth a look if we dont bring back Ostman on the PS Guy Im not too interested in but connection with our new WR coach- Chiefs cut Kalija Lipscomb. I guess we really like Burnett, but Lipscomb is solid after the catch and coach recruited him iirc. Saints cut Margus Hunt. Feels like just 2 years ago he completely dominated us while playing for the cults. I dont know what the hell happened to him but Im interested to take a look. 49ers cut Jajuan Jennings. Wasnt super interested in the draft but interesting PS candidate I think. Seahawks cut Anthony Gordon. Hes my 4th QB if we can snag him. Seattle also cut Cody Thompson who I still insist is an Adam Thielen clone just needing a shot to play. As well as Penny Hart if you need a possible returner option and slot WR. Some people liked him better than Isabella in that draft as a slot guy.

Are the Penguins actively playing or were they eliminated before the real playoffs began? He posted it to troll. No one brought up the Pens, nor was anyone even thinking about them, as they aren't part of this tournament. So, if an Eagles fan decides to troll with the Super Bowl trophy in a similar manner, then they are also trolls and lame. But, the facts remain... Pittsburgh Penguins declared bankruptcy, not once but twice in their franchise history, and both times got propped up by the league... And when they have their inevitable down turn, their so-called 'fans' will bail on them again, as they always have, and they will be facing bankruptcy once again... they are due for it. It's been 22 years since the last one. Their longest previous streak was 23 years. Maybe they can beat that record this time around.
September 6, 20205 yr I really have nothing against the guy. Why would I? But isn't Joe Ostman the most overhyped prospect in recent memory? There are fans lamenting that he was released, and yet it's extremely unlikely they've even watched him play, certainly not lately anyway. The guy was released two years ago without any fanfare -- after a relatively nondescript preseason -- and missed all of last year with an injury without even getting to play in any preseason games. And he didn't get to play in any preseason games this year. So none of us have even watched him play at all in over two full years. But because of some praise in some Twitter comments from reporters, fans jumped on the bandwagon in droves and acted like he was not only a lock to make the team but would actually be a major contributor who would be sure to get multiple sacks. Instead, he appears headed for the practice squad. Hopefully he can improve. Not at all surprised about Prince Tega getting cut. I wasn't all that impressed with the Auburn footage that I watched immediately after the draft. The next 24-48 hours should be fun. More fun than this Flyers game has been.
