Typical: the "Eagles speeded Foles up" and it was because of Vaitai. Uh, no. It was because that was the way to attack Minnesota, whose defense is based on quick pressure. That's what Mike Zimmer does. That analysis is also more than two seasons' old. Was he as good as Lane? Uh, no. Does that prove anything? Uh, yes...that he's not as good as Lane. As long as we're mentioning that I'll ask: if you're coaching against the Eagles whom do you attack? Lane Johnson or a part-time starter? And if you're the Eagles, whom do you help, of those same two guys? Any fool could anticipate that Minnesota would go after Vaitai rather than Lane. Zimmer did what was expected and Stoutland countered what was expected. Vaitai is not and never will be as good as Lane, or Peters, and probably not Dillard. That doesn't make him chopped liver. Vaitai would start for the other three teams in the NFC-E, easily. Detroit is paying him $10 M a year with $20 M guaranteed. Surely that means something. Oh, we could argue that it's Detroit, so what can you expect? So, maybe not. V may not be as good as I think he is but he's definitely better than you think he is.

Think I will take my chances with it. That said, I would volunteer for a test group too. But then too, I am the only one in my family, including my rocket scientist son, that would ride a rocket to outer space.

The only part of his analysis that I disagree with, which you pointed out, was speeding up Foles to help Big V. They did it for Foles obviously, and it helping V and the rest of the OL is a nice byproduct. I said before FA I expected him to get a nice payday and a starting RT spot somewhere. I think he’s good enough to start, but not good enough to stop a team from trying to upgrade on him. People in here actually talked about him as a top 10-15 LT. I’m pretty comfortable with my stance vs that one.
