You’re really tryna justify a blatantly derogatory term with science? Show me one medical source/journal thats referring to the virus as "China Virus” or "Wuhan Virus”. Or one that refers to SARS as "China SARS”. Or better yet even anybody from the previous administration(as you quoted) that referred to it as such.

It’s officially referred to as Covid-19(the disease) or Sars-Cov-2(the official scientific name of the virus). If you don’t want to use a scientific name, the common slang for it is "Coronavirus” referencing the type of virus it is.

There’s no reason to call it "China Virus” or "Wuhan Virus” because as another poster mentioned, it has yet to be confirmed that it initiated there.

Yeah. I feel real compassion for morons’ needs to be "edgy” when hearing about my nephew being taunted by his classmates/neighbors for being bringing the dirty China Virus to the US. The President and other morons are stirring up racial animosity towards Chinese people to deflect from their own failures.

How about it's called China Virus because it is a China virus that came from their freaking lab in China and the shoe fits.

Not to be too provocative, but I think the US would really benefit from a third mainstream political party.  There seems to be a large moderate group who are forced to lose sleep by having to vote along the same party lines as the radical factions of both the far liberal and far conservative extremes.  A third centralist party might push the lunatic fringes back into the fringes.

The result is a polarization that is becoming more and more extreme and, because the split is close to 50/50, successive administrations spend a lot of time undoing what the previous ones implement.

Someone needs to tell beast Vaughn got put on Covid reserve for the bucs. Massive blow....

I know teams get a roster spot, but what are the cap implications? The lower priced guys may not matter as much, but when teams have to sign/release/sign/release vets who are on the street isn't it going to cause issues for teams against the cap? Their minimum contract price is higher.

Can’t answer your question completely. But I know in this situation since he’s having it now he’s likely gonna be fine by the time the regular season starts so I don’t think in this case would even matter

For sure. Just wondering down the line. The Eagles should be fine.  I'm sure teams will rely on PS players as much as possible, but some positions I'd imagine teams would want vets for.

Ah.  Buying into BS conspiracy theories.  I hope you are just trolling and not that naive.

Jeffrey should take the opt out.  Makes best sense for him to prolong his guarantee. Would suck for the Eagles.

Not really sure what you mean by this. Anyone whose on the street outside of a select few will probably be signed for vet minimum. And since they agreed to a pay as you go scale it won’t cost much to sign a stop gap for two weeks. Most teams will probably just go with guys on their own PS anyway.

Don’t think it would matter much for the Eagles. Wouldn’t it just open up cap space this year that would get carried over until next and wash the cap implications next year the same it would this year? I think it would make more sense to just rehab his injury this year while pocketing his guaranteed base salary and then becoming a free agent next year, potentially signing for more being a year younger vs opting out this year

When half the Marlins roster got it in a non contact sport that is going to add up pretty fast over 16 games even with PS guys. Some positions are going to require vets like QB, OL, kickers, etc. If teams are up against the cap I'm wondering what happens? I could see ten guys easily being out at one time with what we saw in baseball today.

Ahh yea. I don’t really see a way football could survive what happened today at all. Baseball has the benefit of delaying games, football doesn’t really. Plus it’s way more likely a severe outbreak happens in NFL vs MLB. From a salary cap perspective I have no idea. It really seems like it wouldn’t be possible unless players on the Covid list are paid but exempt from the salary cap.

Yeah I’m seeing more and more Libertarian stuff as time goes on. I think their thing is essentially no government but they’re going to get some votes because socially they seem very in the middle.

But yes... the extremism each side is bringing to the table is overbearing

I didn't say anything about science.  I pointed out the inaccuracy,  and the double standard.

How ridiculous. Racists were racist before trump became president.

Again look back to a previous administration when middle easterners suffered from racist views against them after the 9/11 attacks.

Racists are racist regardless of who the president is.

I guess they're even more worried about picking up this virus than the one Robert Kraft picked up last year .....

There’s talk the McCourty twins may opt out too.

This is from uniwatch.com which reports on all things uniform related.  The message is now numb to me.

NFL update: It had previously been reported that the NFL would likely allow players to wear helmet decals honoring victims of police brutality or systemic racism. Yesterday we got our first peek at how that will look, and it turns out that they’re actually going with messaging on the neck bumpers, not on the helmet shells. Pretty sure that’s the first time we’ve seen the neck bumper used for any kind of commemorative messaging in the NFL. (Also, according to an analysis by Uni Watch reader Omar Jalife that I published last year, six NFL teams — the Browns, Chiefs, Giants, Saints, Steelers, and Washington — go with blank neck bumpers, so it will be new for them to have any sort of graphics or messaging in that spot.)

According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, “[T]he helmet decals are optional. Players will be offered a list of names, but ‘they can also select a victim of systemic racism who is not represented on this list.’ Can wear Week 1 or all season. Coaches have option to wear hat patch.”

In addition, two new messages — "It Takes All of Us” and "End Racism” — will be added to the end lines of the end zones for home openers:

Also, according to ESPN, “[O]n each club’s seat covering between the 30-yard lines, there will be messaging thanking frontline [pandemic] workers.”

Someone should ask the raider guy

How he feels about honoring a dead criminal
