July 28, 20205 yr An important part of Training Camps is the fear of the unknown for NFL players and getting them to a point where they realise that they can live in some normality and compete at a high level. It's completely understandable for players to be unsure and step back, especially those with health conditions. The harsh reality for all teams is how professional they are from top to bottom will dictate if COVID spreads through them or not. Teams with poor leadership will learn a harsh lesson early on. I am glad I wasn't the only one to wonder about the Pats tanking this season.
July 28, 20205 yr And ultimately, well run franchises will see the current pandemic as an execellent chance to win a Super Bowl.

Because the removal of the Emergency use, and the FDA warning were all based on these BAD studies that said it was killing people. The studies which were retracted from the peer reviewed journals. Its a really scary thing that scientists have let their political bias impact the work they are putting out. The doctors and scientists that did this work, as well as the panel of peer reviewers are all a disgrace to the scientific community and a danger to public health. We cant be making medical decisions based on politics. I do believe there are patients with COVID benefiting from hydroxychloroquine. I do also believe there are a few even better options out there now as fat as treatments... Nonsense. Unadulterated BS.

July 28, 20205 yr Just channel surfing and found the Flyers vs Penguins game. First NHL I've seen in over 10 years and I'd forgotten how quick it was. I won't pay for a subscription to watch it though

July 28, 20205 yr I would incentivize Jeffrey to opt out. We recoop some money this year, get him back when he's completely healthy. Maybe we get all our highest paid players to opt out and we carry over the cap savings to next year?

I thought Trump is supposed to be buddies with these guys .... what gives? Maybe Alex Ovechkin will end up getting his Nobel Prize instead.
July 28, 20205 yr If a player is on the bubble or is one of those training camp battles that is unlikely to make the roster (there are probably over 100 in the league), why would they NOT opt out right now? I understand that if they don't get picked up next year, then they apparently have to pay that guaranteed money back, but I seriously doubt teams will enforce that.
July 28, 20205 yr 32 minutes ago, ManuManu said: YES. yeah ideally both are starting. But it was important to have someone behind Jackson for when he is hurt again. Hopefully Hightower can be that guy to give a spot start. Hey, we will take our lumps this year but every team is gonna have players opting out and injuries of their own. Its not a bad year to have a less than optimal roster. Everyone is in the same boat.

You know their salaries also roll over to next year, so you are still paying them either way, so there is no cap savings.
