yeah ideally both are starting. But it was important to have someone behind Jackson for when he is hurt again. Hopefully Hightower can be that guy to give a spot start.

Hey, we will take our lumps this year but every team is gonna have players opting out and injuries of their own. Its not a bad year to have a less than optimal roster. Everyone is in the same boat.

If we take Doug at his word, I would suspect Reagor picked up the terminology quickly and is comfortable at Z, allowing him to learn the X as well. That would be huge. Reagor and DJax in 12 is so much better than JJAW and DJax.

Let Hightower and Watkins battle it out for backup Z.

He was the CFL star a lot of teams were interested in.

Just channel surfing and found the Flyers vs Penguins game. First NHL I've seen in over 10 years and I'd forgotten how quick it was.  I won't pay for a subscription to watch it though

Of all the sports I’ve watched with no fans so far, hockey it’s not nearly as glaring as baseball and basketball.

All of these players opting out today has to be coerced.

knowing our luck, this will happen if eagles play in 2020:

carson gets covid from opposing team.  designated out for 2 weeks.

complications with recovery from covid, takes "rest" of 2020 off.

offseason 2021, we find out carson carson's lungs got messed up due to covid, he cannot play anymore due to breathing problems.

2021, wentz retires due to health.

fans of playing in 2020 shocked pikachu face that covid is actually serious and revert to "i KNEW we shouldn't have played that wasted season! :furious:".

They have a deadline to do it and today most teams reported to camp. Not sure what you are getting at.

Howard probably takes another L tomorrow.

YES.

The Eagles make their stories up as they go.  Early last year the story was that JJAW was learning only one position, was exclusively the X, and that’s why he didn’t see the field.  After the season the story was that they overloaded him making him learn all the positions.

First Reagor was a Z learning behind Desean.  Now he’s learning X.

Reagor is a first round pick.  Ideally, a first round pick and the future centerpiece of the WR corps will be running the full route tree and catching a high-ish volume of passes.  That’s more an X than a Z.  Not to mention, we don’t have anyone else who profiles as a possible X either now or in the future. Desean/Hightower/Watkins may combine for a short and long term Z option.

Im thinking about high school sports again as PIAA posted an article on their site saying the SMAC (Sports Medicine Action Committee) approves the decision to begin fall sports on time.

First, thats a conflict of interest because athletic trainers who make up the SMAC need sports to happen to make a living. My colleague is involved in that and oversees a staff of over 40 ATCs who need work. I think the PIAA should be taking advice from independent medical professionals not connected to sports. So, infectious disease doctors rather than sports medicine doctors and athletic trainers.

Secondly, if all of these NFL players are opting out someone is telling them that the risks outweigh the prospect of being paid MILLIONS of dollars. In high school, that level of Benefit does not exist in their weighing of risk:benefit. How can it be so dangerous that people are turning down millions of dollars to play professionally, yet somehow it makes sense for high school players to play just for fun?

The real question is who starts at Z in 2021 after Wentz/Doug/Howie finally get a taste of how great it is for all 3 games that Reagor/Desean start together outside this year.  They ain’t gonna want Reagor/JJAW.

With all due respect to the Watkins/Hightower lottery picks, they’ll probably need to go out and get another premium guy in this mold.

Im down with a guy like Tylan Wallace or Tamarion Terry in next years draft. There seems to be a good chance one or both may not even be 1st rounders due to the amount of WR talent again in next years draft.

Hopefully X and Z are answered for years to come with Reagor and Hightower. But as much as I like both its just not that likely.

Just want to point out that we’re on page 69

I’m thinking AB

Jalen Reagor can play all 3 WR positions. The big question is where he's best at long-term. IMO, his best position is Z where he can avoid press-coverage and be used in motion horizontally or vertically to stretch out defenses. His speed will mean that some CBs won't even press him at X.

Sucks for the players who do the right thing, didnt go to strip clubs,  and make sacrifice(s) so they can get to work and play baseball.

Especially when they get covid from the players who were  out being careless

If there was any team you’d think would have this issue it would be likely the marlins. Aren’t expected to be very good so the sacrifice might not be there because they know they are unlikely to win anything anyway. The team is extremely young  And they are in a state where it’s surging.
