I mean they could’ve gone down the same road as the nhl and nba. Yet choose not too even though every week and month that past showed it was not going to magically be better by the time the season started. And fauci said there was going to be a second wave coming during their season. So with that info they still didn’t do it. Also i don’t believe for a second the nfl thought of anyone but themselves and the money they could put in their pocket. Frankly i believe if city officials allowed owners and the nfl to make decisions on fans they’d allow all fans into stadiums and make them sign a waiver protecting themselves.

I don’t think they could have gotten the players to agree to spending up to six months in a bubble away from family or even bringing family in and removing kids from their schools. The NBA and NHL don’t have as many players and won’t have to spend as much time there.

I'm alright with rolling with what we got

Me too. For the handful or so of games that get played, if any, let these guys get their feet wet in some games that have "meaning”. They’ll be that much further ahead in 2021.

The nba has been talking about the 2020-2021 season having a bubble the other day. Gonna be 6 months+. I think you are at the point unless something changes you either play in the bubble until this gets under control or you risk exposing players via travel all over the country and players not following guidelines. Hence Mlb having the issues they are. They might not have liked it they could’ve opted out. Was And is an option. Frankly I think the NFL is closer to having an MLB problem then they are having success like I think the NBA and NHL is going to have

also you don’t have to follow strictly what the NBA or NHL did. You could have other rules and regulations With theit bubble that they don’t have having more players.

Clarify, please.

The nba has them all in the Disney resorts. You don’t need them all in one hotel. You could have multiple resorts depending on the area they chose to have the bubble. Would’ve had to be a particular city that has enough football stadiums to play games and practice fields.

my plan was pick A state where the numbers have shown to be lesser for the Covid 19 cases. Use about 16 hub cities in that state and Use their resorts and some of the colleges/high school fields that aren’t going to likely be used this year. Use the college stadiums in such state to play games. It’s not a perfect solution but you cut in half 32 cities to 16. Heck you probably could even do 10 cities which still cuts it down and it’s much more controlled environment then having players on the honor system not going out to clubs or strip clubs like we’ve seen. (If Arizona or Florida didn’t have the massive cases at hand right now both would’ve been good solutions. You could’ve put two teams in each city like 2 in Phoenix, 2 in Glendale, 2 in flagstaff, 2 in Sedona, 2 in Tucson and so on. there’s a bunch of pro and college stadiums that you could use for game day and there’s enough high-quality practice facilities that smaller colleges or big-time high school program that you could’ve implemented that aren’t being used this year. however you’d have to change the states now based off the uptick).

obviously not a perfect solution but better than what’s currently in place with teams traveling all over the country and players on the honor code. We’ve seen young players go to strip clubs while traveling. I fully don’t expect players to not go out to clubs during this at least doing that type of bubble you have more control of the situation then right now.

When was his first "hit"

So unless I missed it, no one else was released from the roster yet which puts it at 81. I wonder if there was another player that informed the team they are opting out and it just hasn't leaked yet.

I left my family for a long time to get shot at. I would have preferred it was for a few months, getting millions, and mortars not landing nearby.

Matt Leo has an international exemption, so he does not count against the 80 man roster, so yes, we have 81 players.

Wasn't including him because of that. We were at 83 including Leo, 82 not. Then Goodwin opted out and no other move was made. So we are still sitting at 81 roster players (82 total with Leo)

Only explanation I could think of is because Jeffery was put on PUP he's not practicing so they meet the technicality of 80 roster players practicing, even though he counts as a roster spot.

To me if you’re trying to protect the players safety and that was a better way of going about it To control the situation then they can always opt out if they didn’t wanna do it. I think you would have to give the players that option of not wanting to do it. But once you commit you are in and that’s how it goes.

The tougher part is if somebody gets hurt and you go to the free-agent market to bring somebody in who’s outside of those bubble that you’re dealing with.

A solution to not seeing your family, everyone knows when their bye week is. You make the family members who are going to come visit quarantine for two weeks And be tested. Make team planes pick them up to come out and then return them home. It sucks but that’s what we are living through right now.

Will families be able to go? If so, where will kids go to school? Remotely? What about children who need PT, OT or speech therapies, or other regular check ups? There are a lot of issues at play.

I believe it should be voluntarily as well. There are signs that some people that get this disease may never be able to play again. Honestly, I think playing football games during a pandemic is foolhardy. But if they want to do it, let them.

Signs out of Sweden are now pointing to allowing it to run its course. There is much we don't know.

There’s going to be those issues with the nba if they have an entire bubble in 2021. Everyone has to deal with it. And the nba is allowing families eventually and there’s ways of going about it that i probably given 5 months of thinking about it would look more reasonable as solution. Heck military don’t see their families for times of longer than 6 months. So you have decisions to make. Also made a solution above for visiting families it isn’t great but it’s better than nothing if you opt in

again you could opt out and not do it. It’s the times we are living in. You can either get on board or say no I’m good too many other factors. No one is saying they have to. However if a bubble provides more protection to your health and preventing the spread then thats what you have to do.

I do, and because I do I take care of my neighbors as best I can. That’s what people with consideration and compassion do.

Move the whole operation to New Zealand.

Play the games in their rugby stadiums in front of live, Covid-free fans.

Just need to adjust for the time difference.

I hear you, and I did too, but we have to recognize we made a choice to go into a unique experience. Athletes don’t.

It’s astonishing that someone would say such a thing.
