On a personal note, I have damage to both heart and lungs, courtesy of the virus. Fortunately, thanks to e45,'s direction I have the solution: in the Inuit tradition I will sit on an ice floe and freeze quietly to death.

Sorry to hear. I hope the damage is as minimal as possible.

If the dog practiced social distancing this never would have happened.

She was social distancing from the other dogs. Just not from the skunk.

Really interesting breakdown. It would be nice if our slot WR here did anything other than run in a straight line.

You ignoring the impact of COVID on survivors, there is mounting evidence of serious damage to patients sick enough to be hospitalized, lungs, brain, other organs.

The impact on asymptomatic or mild symptomatic patients is still unknown, but something to be concerned with, as a lack of symptoms may reflect merely a mild infection or simply damage that is not obvious in the short-term.

Google Scholar is a great way to search the peer review literature. It's Google for academics.

I've treated more COVID survivors with damage to those organs than you have, so don't tell me I'm ignoring it or lecture me on the impact of it.  And if you scroll through enough of those citations for CNS sequela, you'll be citing my own papers against me.

If we can say that the impact of asymptomatic disease and mild infection is unknown for the long-term (which is correct), then we can and should say the same about kids sitting home for a year.

Big shock... Lane didn’t pass that involved testing his bodily fluid...

The first big politician with all the money for the care he’d need. 😞

15 pounds of brain muscle?

I don't think the list is from players

Shouldn't every player be?  Why would it be special?  Such fluff spin.

I'm guessing he used the same criteria for all of them

Correct.  Even so, I don't think any others on the list have ever missed a playoff game for their team.  I don't care about Stafford, Garapolo, Foles, or Bridgewater.  I don't consider them in the same tier as Wentz.  But if Watson, Roethlispuke or Brees missed multiple playoff games due to season-ending injuries 3 years in a row in their first 4 years in the league, then I think they would also have been heavily criticized.  Didn't Ben win 2 SBs in his first 4 years?  I guess you could play the other side and say that Houston didn't make the playoffs at all because Deshaun's injury ruined the entire season causing them not to make the playoffs.

I just think it's a careless tweet used to provide a false narrative by leaving out important facts.  You probably know as much as anyone in here that I think Wentz is elite, and I always defend him from some of the morons who don't have eyeballs or common sense.  But this is a dumb tweet.

How is this working? Are they sitting out for 2 weeks from the initial outbreak, or from their last reported case?

Unpopular take:

People admiring Joe Kelly for throwing at the Astros players is pathetic. Yeah the Astros cheated but throwing at guys doesn’t make you tough, let alone a "hero” like so many moral high ground keyboard warriors are calling him. He’s just a clown.

Agreed with unpopular take.  They didn't just cheat.  They destroyed the integrity of the game, they received almost zero punishment for it, and they literally won a World Series as a direct result of their blatant cheating.  Firing their manager and GM?  That's it?  I wish the Phillies cheated the last few years then.

Not to mention the no fans in the stands has saved any sort of ridicule and embarrassment they might endure.  They completely lucked out, and I'm happy that the players will self police this thing.  I don't think Joe Kelly is a hero at all.  He seems like a pretty big D-bag actually.  But the Astros need some sort of punishment for what they did, and I hope it continues.

I’m not a baseball nerd so the whole integrity thing doesn’t mean much to me. They didn’t cheap shot anyone or use a corked bar. And I’d be willing to bet they weren’t the first or only team "cheating” in a similar way. From the fans and media reaction... you’d think what they did is way worse than what the Pats did.

I’m not saying the Astros should get off Scott free like they essentially did but I probably wouldn’t care much if the Phils were doing something similar in 08.

But my big issue is Joe Kelly. Guy is a tool and no matter how bad someone cheats, trying to hurt them physically is barbaric. MLB is the worst run pro sports league in America by far. Mainly because they’re just reactive and never proactive.

The second someone gets beamed in the head and it effects their long term well being then we’ll see all that false justice crap disappear. But nothing will be done by MLB’s old boys club until that happens.

MLB execs, media, and fanboys are most moral high ground, self righteous nerds imo
