Just heard a study published today by JAMA Pediatrics has found that although children experience more mild symptoms, children under 5 carry 5 to 100x more virus than adults.

Well there's no "middle-age man yells at cloud" gif equivalent that I'm aware of so I had to work with what I got.

BS they are losing fans. Politics don't belong in sports. Their fans are going to love them for it. I sure as hell do.

I am probably the outlier. I really don’t care either way if they go over the top or what they feel is just enough. It doesn’t bother me either way cause i understand both side of the coin. I’m more annoyed of the article you mentioned with the nhl saying they didn’t do enough. It’s their decision As it’s their league and they aren’t sponsored by BLM. They frankly didn’t have to do anything if they didn’t want too. Just like it’s also the nba’s decision on what they want to do so I’d be as annoyed if someone wrote the opposite story of the nba doing way too much over the top.

I think i merged the 2 topics.  I mean the NBA especially.  I'm really bummed the NCAA is now getting in to the SJW game.  I just want pure sports.  None of this stuff.  Give us 3 hours to not be reminded.

I'm with the NHL 100%.

So players are going to kneel before every game.....no big deal.

I just hope ESPN and other outlets dont make this a story every night.

I agree, the article is pure trash.  Basically shaming the NHL for not kneeling, having any BLM messages.  The mindset is if you don't show support it means you aren't on board.  It's not a good angle to take at all.  It's what Charles Barkley said.  Just because you don't kneel doesn't make you a bad person.

HA, ESPN not make a big deal about political stands?  You must not have watched ESPN the last few years.  They are licking their chops at being able to discuss this every day.

I brought this up during the whole DeSean Jackson thing that you can’t have that type of slogan of if you don’t say anything to stand with us then you are part of the problem. BUT then when something else happens that’s an injustice like anti-Semitism just sit around and not say anything. Then you’re just a hypocrite to if it affects you that’s when you want people to be with you and make your voice heard. However when it doesn’t affect you don’t care

The NBA was already struggling ratings wise before the kneeling and well before COVID. Basketball just doesn't draw very well and hasn't for a long time. The NFL crushes it in ratings. For the most part, the NBA has a niche audience. Anyone offended by them kneeling, most likely wasn't watching to begin with.

Now the NFL ratings dipped 11% during the Kaepernick kneeling ordeal because they have a larger fan base than the NBA. Trump also has a hard-on against the NFL so he got his herd to turn against the NFL during the kneeling. The Trump herd was never watching the NBA to begin with.

I didn’t  think Goodwin was that great of a pick up even before he decided to not play. Didn’t give up much so that was nice. But He’s had like 2 seasons where he did anything the rest hurt or unproductive. I like reagor but he and 2 other unproven rookies in a year where there’s a pandemic and there were no training camps. i like some of the picks like Hightower and reagor but not exactly nailing the certainty of weapons.

That’s what I meant though. Wentz has some speedy receivers but has to deal with another obstacle with the pandemic

Ok it's fine for tonight.  Restarting the season and everyone is kneeling.  Ok, fine, no problem with the kneeling although the messages on the jerseys is kinda weird.  Couple guys had "Ally" I think if I read it right.

Headline on ESPN is Pels, Jazz players kneel during anthem.  Is a headline tomorrow night gonna be Boston, Milwaukee players kneel during anthem?  Or on sunday will it be Wiz, Nets players kneel during anthem?

Its great they're doing this but we dont need to be informed of this every night.  We all know they're kneeling.  I just hope this doesnt happen.

I mean it’s nice to have speed. If you would’ve said they finally got him speed option I would’ve been more with you. I look at it this way I didn’t like the off-season plan at wide receiver because of the pandemic Where rookies were never going to get enough time to trust them to be major contributors. I don’t think it was a good idea to begin with. I thought I was underwhelming the way they addressed the overall position and I like reagor and hightower. But I also think it’s gonna be super hard to trust a rookie with no camps all year to come in and hit the ground running and the Eagles need them to now cause i don’t trust desean.

Same. I think every league should just go with the South Park solution

I was watching every Sixers game.  I love watching them when they are on their game.  They can be a lot of fun but also frustrating to watch.  The other night the Sixers posted on social media a picture of Matisse Thybulle wearing a Malcolm X shirt raising a fist with a bunch of fist emojis.  Me personally, I don't think Malcolm X had the best intentions regarding equality and it was just one more step closer to pushing me away.  Now you have more and more, the huge BLM on the court, the entire team and refs kneeling.  I really loved watching the team.  I'm just over it now.

I think your problem with the NBA has been the creating of superteams that you already kind of know the outcome in almost 80 to 90% of the seasons. Like you knew the Warriors were going to destroy the Cavs once they got Kevin Durant. It took Kevin Durant And Klay Thompson getting hurt just for the raptors to have a chance to win that title and be the champs. If both of those guys didn’t have injuries they smack the raptors. It’s hard to watch a league where I know who’s going to win it. Like the NFL there’s always surprise teams now there’s some quality teams that stay up there. MLB you have a high spenders that stay up there but if you go look there hasn’t been a repeat Champion in a while. And hockey I feel like every year hockey is so fluid and who’s going to win. Like there’s some teams that stay at the top because they have star players but they don’t always win. I feel like the NBA is the league where you know pretty much have the same teams and players over and over again cause they make super teams

Don’t give me wrong I think the NBA has more talent now in the league. That’s just because overtime I think we’ve had better athletes and better training to be those athletes.  However that doesn’t mean it’s a better product that You are watching.

Not sure if the NBA's ratings were struggling prior to Covid but I do know I dont really watch anymore.  NBA is getting similiar to MLB for me in that it doesnt interest me till the playoffs start.  Sucks because I used to be a bigger basketball fan, especially in the 90s when Jordan played.  Definately not anymore.

The '98 Finals (Jordan's last Bulls run) averaged an 18.7 rating. No other Finals in the 90s decade fell below a 12.3 The last time the Finals came that close was back in '01 (Lakers/Sixers) with a 12.1. Golden State's run typically averaged anywhere from a 10-mid 11. So the NBA has essentially lost nearly half it's audience since Jordan left the Bulls and they never came back.

An NBA game is 48 minutes — why anyone watches the first 46 minutes is beyond me.

The NBA really has never been the league I love the most. Don’t get me wrong love all sports so i follow and i will tune in. I would still choose football, MLB in the NHL over the NBA. However once they start going to all these guys making superteams and predictability In the outcomes is when I kind of lost more and more interest in the league. For instance once Kevin Durant went to the Warriors was there any doubt in anybody’s mind the Warriors were going to win the next two titles unless something happened where KD got hurt or multiple players got hurt.

To the NBA is credit this year I actually thought there was more competitive balance than there has been dating back before LeBron left to go to Miami.

that said I thought it was ridiculous just to restart the season just to get a champion after 4 1/2 month hiatus away from basketball. That’s an entire off-season of time off. It’s not the same season anymore even if you have the records that teams had prior to all this. 4.5 months is enough time for guys to develop and get healthy which will change the outcome especially with some players not going.

Because the last two are drawn out to 15 and nothing but intentional fouls

How are they going to decide the draft order if there is no season played?

Repeat the same order? Not having a draft? Random order?

God I hope it has no chance of being a repeat with NY and 4skins picks...

FWIW, the Eagles were actually huge beneficiaries of this sort of thing. Using the same sequence, I mean. When they had the '84 draft of college players who had already signed with the USFL and who were not eligible for the regular draft, the league simply used the same draft order. After using the fourth pick in the regular draft on Kenny Jackson (sort of a bust, or at least a pretty disappointing player for someone picked that high), they took Reggie White with the fourth pick (after  Steve Young, Mike Rozier, and Gary ZImmerman) in the USFL draft. Worked out pretty darn well.

To answer your question, I suspect they would have some sort of lottery, perhaps weighted in some fashion, to prevent teams from being able to automatically double-dip at the top, so to speak.
