When they had the '84 draft of college players who had already signed with the USFL and who were not eligible for the regular draft, the league simply used the same draft order. After using the fourth pick in the regular draft on Kenny Jackson (sort of a bust, or at least a pretty disappointing player for someone picked that high), they took Reggie White with the fourth pick (after Steve Young, Mike Rozier, and Gary ZImmerman) in the USFL draft. Worked out pretty darn well. To answer your question, I suspect they would have some sort of lottery, perhaps weighted in some fashion, to prevent teams from being able to automatically double-dip at the top, so to speak. I've been wondering about this as well. They can't just give the Bengals the first pick again. Outside of the Browns it's rare a team stinks so bad as to get the number 1 pick multiple years in a row. Now if the Cowboys or Patriots get the first pick... If they do the first and last 16 picks from this year are scrambled in two lotteries could really stink too.

NBA basketball lost my interest more than 10 years ago when the analytics knobs decided it was advantageous to fling up 35 3-point attempts per game rather than try to dominate with a solid big man. To be fair, there are only a finite amount of legitimate dominant big men, while you can pick three guys out of a ditch and teach them to be chuckers.

I’m all for a first round lottery and then second round just goes reverse order of the first round and then back to the first round order in the third round. I think it makes the most sense. It is the most fair to everyone because you don’t know how to season would’ve played out. The rosters aren’t the same as 2019 with the draft and free agency so there’s going to be some teams improving and declining. I just do it like a snake draft after a first round lottery. Plus i’m sure the NFL is gonna want to get revenue where they can televise the 32 pick lottery and make some money off of it since they’re not gonna have fans this year

Basketball just doesn't draw very well and hasn't for a long time. The NFL crushes it in ratings. For the most part, the NBA has a niche audience. Anyone offended by them kneeling, most likely wasn't watching to begin with. Now the NFL ratings dipped 11% during the Kaepernick kneeling ordeal because they have a larger fan base than the NBA. Trump also has a hard-on against the NFL so he got his herd to turn against the NFL during the kneeling. The Trump herd was never watching the NBA to begin with. Wrong

But nothing like I used to. I’ll hardly watch a MLB or NHL game if my team isn’t playing. Not even the post season. College Football is what I watch the most as a casual observer. And tournament basketball naturally. Just too many other options on TV now. I have missed sports but I am nowhere near the sports junkie I used to be. Understandable. I feel as we get older we find other things and with everything able to us now we can look elsewhere for entertainment. Like I’m still gonna watch sports every time that they’re on but since this whole pandemic since it started with no sports I found other things that are also my interests that can get me through if it’s not On. That’s why I was OK if they didn’t bring anything back until 2021 just to be safe. Frankly I think it’s absurd to just restart a season 4 1/2 months later and treat it like the results were going to be the same conclusion that you would’ve had if the season continued. I look at the Flyers, I think Flyers had a better chance at winning the Stanley Cup in March because they’re younger, they have fresher legs, hot at the right time and some of these teams like the Penguins, lightning and Bruins who are mostly made up of veteran players. maybe the wear and tear from the season and then into the playoffs catches up to them where as the Flyers are still fresh young legs with a lot of their team. Now I think those veteran teams have had the 4 1/2 months to rest up and have a bigger advantage because they’re loaded veteran experience and they’re going to be fresh because I haven’t played really for 4 1/2 months

With no fans going to be at games that is a good way to bring in some money. Plus I could imagine the drama of hoping your team gets a top pick and rooting for Dallas not to get a good pick

July 31, 20205 yr Been an impressive performance by the Clippers so far. They have been down a lot of guys since this whole bubble thing started. Shamet, Beverly, Harrell, and the whole Lou Will distraction. Lakers had laser focus throughout and you have Caruso skipping his sisters wedding so he wouldnt have to re-quarantine for 10 days. On the contrary I thought there is no way the Clippers could possibly be prepared for this game. Here, they lead in the 3rd quarter after trailing double digits most of the 1st half.
July 31, 20205 yr I feel like I’m watching exhibition/early season basketball right now. Both games super sloppy. Hoping by the time the playoffs start in 3 weeks it’s up to Speed.

No other Finals in the 90s decade fell below a 12.3 The last time the Finals came that close was back in '01 (Lakers/Sixers) with a 12.1. Golden State's run typically averaged anywhere from a 10-mid 11. So the NBA has essentially lost nearly half it's audience since Jordan left the Bulls and they never came back. Does that include streaming too? Back in the 90s you watched the game one way which was on TV. Now people watch on TV but also use other methods to watch NBA games. Not sure if that's included in ratings today. Regardless, NBA was still better in the 90s and early 2000s. 36 minutes ago, Alphagrand said: An NBA game is 48 minutes — why anyone watches the first 46 minutes is beyond me. I can watch the 4th quarter as long as it's close. But if I watch an NBA regular season game from start then I'll end up asleep by halftime. Wont mind at all if they reduced NBA and MLB games during the season to 50 and 80 respectively. NFL is king because there are only 16 games and each game is important. Same with ncaa football.

I absolutely love all the different traditions, fight songs and just the overall pageantry of the game. To me there is nothing better than waking up Saturday morning in the fall, getting some yardwork done coming in and listening to College Gameday and then watching games all day topped off with the game of the week on ABC, the evening SEC game and a ND game on NBC.

I kind of think the best constructed team is the clippers. I think they have the most Depth and they have the star talent to be almost any team. I know it’s the unpopular opinion but if i had to choose a star player to start my franchise with I’m going Kawhi. I think defensively he wreaks havoc every time he plays Lebron and Giannis. And i just think when he’s on top of his game he’s right there with Giannis and Lebron at this stage of his career.
