I agree theoretically, but I'll believe it when I see it with this defense. I'm expecting the same old defense.

I should have added that I'm not so sure these positionless DBs are going to be any good outside of Slay.  But I do love the strategy.  Crossing my fingers that Mills has an easy transition to S.

GM Executives.  "How can we make sure we half our potential buyers will go buy something else.  I've got it, let's have LeBron James be our spokesman!"  Brilliant.

Hopefully he pans out.  Sounds good.

Good quote on Warren. Pretty accurate.  Per roster, he is down to 218.  Think virtual with him focused on his shape a bit.

See the cardinals and marlins clearly didn’t have this in their strategy

Honestly wouldn’t give up a first for him right now. You can’t negotiate a long term extension since the deadline was July 15. The jags botched it cause no one is going to give up maximum value knowing for one year (a pandemic year which the league might not finish) and then he can just bolt. I’m guessing the jags wait til the deadline and take the best offer which i could still see the jags declining and doing this all again on a second tag.

A bubble is totally unfeasible for FB and baseball for that matter and even a bubble isn't going to stop it. So you couldn't come up with an answer could you?

That wasn't the question, he asked if anyone thought there would be FB played this year.

No. That is not the question I responded to.

I’m hopeful that the NFL and it’s players will see what’s happening in baseball and either agree to a daily testing plan throughout the season or they’re behind the scenes devising a bubble plan.

In Montana?

I would pay no more than a 3 for him since we very well would let him walk for a comp pick anyway.

If we had a ton of cap space and could theoretically franchise tag him, that would change the potential compensation, but he has so much leverage as a FA to be that I have no idea how we could afford him.

I also like how the article brushes off adding $17M to the cap this year and eliminating 75% of your carryover into next year where there is cap problems as "a conversation for another day."

That's never how you manage a salary cap.

Love levy and riddick. Actually met Steve levy years ago. He’s a awesome guy and extremely friendly. I like griese but i don’t like 3 person booth. I feel like they hardly ever work out

Yup. It basically hurt the eagles ability to make that move. There’s no way they take him on a franchise cap number. They’d have had to negotiate to bring that down so they have more carry over into 2021. With the cap likely going down the eagles need as much roll over as possible.

I was thinking about this the other day. I have no idea why the majority of NFL Ref's wouldn't opt for the season given their age, unnecessary risk, and the fact this is a hobby and some are already loaded financially.

Agreed. However i have a feeling at the deadline (assuming the season is still going on) some team will give up a 2nd for him thinking he might put them over the top. I wouldn’t do it cause i think he’s gonna test free agency since he has to play on the tag all season he probably thinks he owes it to himself to see what the market will bring in FA

Hopefully. Right now it is really sloppy. 4.5 months away will do that.

Yeah it's really weird.  I'm grateful sports are back but taking a 4 month break is too long.  They should have canceled the season.

So let me get this straight......they're gonna play till October then start the 20-21 season in December?  Do they not think players wont complain about such a short turnaround?

Wouldn't give a 1st for him ever.

Only time you should give up 1st round picks is for players like Khalil Mack, Aaron Donald, Julio Jones, etc.

Seattle was stupid for giving up what they did for Jamal Adams.

There’s been talk that they’re going to have an entire season in the bubble in 2021. I don’t even know how the players are going to take that as it’s going to be at least seven or eight months in that bubble. This one is only like 1-3 months depending on your team.

tbh I thought the NBA should always start around Thanksgiving and go through June into the middle of July. The only thing you’re competing with at that point from June to July is baseball. So you start a month later and you finish a month later and the draft is end of July so you still really in the limelight. Have the summer league in August

realistically They took an entire off-season off from when they ended to when they began. Usually the NBA finals is over the second week of June and you start up at the end of October that’s about 4 1/2 months. The only difference is the NBA didn’t have a draft and they didn’t have for agency. However they did have players opt out. Frankly part of me wants to say they did it cause lebron pushed for it cause he knows it would’ve been a wasted year in his career if there was no champion and he was highly likely to at least be in the finals. Other part is the nba wants money from the tv aspect and figured they could cash in still.
