Level 8 of jumanji already off to a bad start. Feels like every couple days something new happens that makes it even worse.

Kobe dying in January really set the tone for how awful this year was going to be.

Always played a good part.

I watched a fifteen minute Youtube video of the Eagles/Rams game from 2002 the other day. That's the one where the defense shut down Warner, and they won with A J Feeley at quarterback, making his first start after Detmer was injured in the MNF game against the 49ers. Bobby Taylor scored the only touchdown of the game on an interception return.

The very first thing I noticed was that the shade of Eagles green just looked different to what we've become accustomed to. It was obvious that it was more "greeny" back then. It really feels like there has been a gradual infusion of blue into the tint over the years.

Was that the one where they literally blitzed BOTH DB's at the same time?  Johnson was fearless with his blitzes.......

I was at that game.  I believe it was the last regular season home game for the Vet.  Right.

Just checked.  Not final home game.  But I remember it was cold and windy.

I think the final home game at the Vet was against Washington and the Eagles wore all green.

I was in a conference on Friday. We split up our staff in to groups in 4 different conference rooms at various locations, and watched presentations remotely. I happened to be in a room full of college athletic trainers. All of their fall sports are cancelled. I got to  hear some discussions.

Some will be having fall practices.

One was saying his coach talked about having pro-day style competitions against other schools in the fall just to keep the competitive juices going.

Another said hes not practicing in the fall, and may not even play if the season is postponed till the spring. He doesnt want to waste a year of his players' eligibility on a shortened sham season.

Sheesh, using Covid as the umbrella for about 20 other talking points., mainly BLM and paying college athletes.  Below are the first 3 lines.  I don't think NCAA athletes should be paid but I do think they should be able to make money off certain things.  The NCAA is not the best organization around and I'm not defending them but this who

To ensure future generations of college athletes will be treated fairly, #WeAreUnited.

Because NCAA sports exploit college athletes physically, economically and academically, and also disproportionately harm Black college athletes, #WeAreUnited.

In rejecting the NCAA’s claim that #BlackLivesMatter while also systematically exploiting Black athletes nationwide, #WeAreUnited.

Explain to me how a free education and housing, free meals, free nutritional supplements and athletic training, top-notch health care, free tutors, WORLD CLASS facilities many offering on-site barbers, gaming centers, lounges and study areas plus much more ham black athletes?  Where are black athletes being disproportionately harmed?

You can claim the NCAA exploits ALL college athletes, not just black athletes.  To single out blacks is silly in this regard.  You don't think they are exploiting Trevor Lawrence or ANY other start non-black athlete?

Do the Pacific Islanders who actually make up A LOT of the PAC-12 teams not matter?  Enough with this.

that seems to be brett brown's offense.

also, Shake is shook. He wasnt ready for PG in the NBA. So, as we knew coming in to the season, PG is a major problem area on the team. Neto isnt a help.

They may need to scrap this new lineup and go back to Ben at PG for the playoffs. It sucks, but this might suck worse. Till we get a legit PG hopefully next year might have to stick with Ben.

Have to give Milton more time to show what he can do

hell my fifth grade girls moved the ball better than they did last night. I am so sick of bens stupid blind jump passes

Ben and Joel still showed all of their warts last night. And both had statistically awesome games. The worst is when they try to pass to each other. A moron passing to another moron is always disastrous. Its a turn over every time.

But they produced big time. You got 0 points from the starting PG and like 4 points from the highly touted Richardson in the Butler trade. Richardson is a big disappointment for me.

Harris looked thinner and quicker than ever knowing he would be playing more wing with Bens move to PF. Harris looked great I thought. Embiid had a 40 and 20 game and skied for some blocks like he hasnt really done since his rookie year. And Simmons was Simmons.

Shake was nice for those few games Ben was out but as they near playoffs intensity and physicality ramps up and hes just not a PG.

Milton is a knob; that team is going nowhere.

Throws a terrible pass over a 7-footer's head, almost gets him injured, then says "that's you" ..... ride the pine

I still don't know which way to go on that anymore.  Schools could definitely pay kids, but I think it becomes a simple transaction.  The students sign a term contract and get paid.  In turn, they pay the school for food, educational fees, housing, etc..  If they want a union, so be it.  They just can't have it both ways.  This way, they have to own their own decisions...good or bad.  Right now, they want the good (and more) with little downside.

I think you’re thinking of opening day 2001. I remember JJ doing that in that game.

How exactly how are they gonna do this? In any successful enterprise you're paid based on your performance are you gonna pay the starters the same as the last guy off the bench?

Just to be clear scholarship athletes  are getting paid right now. Paid with 4 years free tuition, room and board, healthcare and the like. Is it enough based on what the schools make off of them? At the big schools maybe not. The smaller schools don't make that kind of money though.

Also are you gonna have a free agency or draft coming out of HS? Or all these kids gonna go the highest bidder.

This is a can of worms that no one is likely to have a good answer for. Lets make sure the cure isn't worse than the disease.

I just wish JS would take a page from JJ and incorporate more unique blitzing...or even just blitzing.  Avante Maddox thrived at blitzing from the slot when he was at Pitt.  We have all this new found speed at LB.  Use it.  Create havoc.

Not many JJs around

Fortunately, unless he's with us.

I don't disagree with anything you listed.  I just don't support handing them more $$$$, then scholarships, food, housing, travel, and a lifetime education.  That's too far.  We can just change the whole model versus adding onto an already very sweet situation.  In a different model, they have to own their decisions.  Today, they don't have to.

I think a lot of problems could be alleviated if the NCAA would let the players be able to make money off themselves.

Endorsements and the like?

Could be part of the solution
