Depends on your take on Daniels. I'm not big on him.

Talented roster.  I like Daniels I just don't think he will be long for the league with how small he is and the physical nature he plays with.  But they also have a major coaching upgrade which is key.

Saquon Barkley segment on First Things First.  Nick Wright is now on record of saying he will take the under on all of these stats.

I will take the under on the first two, but the over on the other two. Assuming a full healthy season, I would not be surprised if he ended up with 1,800 total yards and 12-14 TDs total.  However, 5-6 of his TDs are coming from receptions.

I’d probably take the under on them all. Maybe I’m a pessimist but I expected Swift to have a bigger role in the passing game and he didn’t do much at all. I’m in a show me mode. Show me you will stick with the run with a bell cow RB. Show me you don’t just tush push inside the 2/3. Show me you will throw to RBs.

This might be a joke but OnlyFans would probably be a great idea. You wouldn’t even need a marketing department.

How about Bradberry for a 6th round pick?

If we still had the same offensive coach calling the shots, I would share your pessimism.  I don’t see a reason why Howie would change his philosophy of paying a RB that amount of money if there wasn’t a real plan to use him in different ways.  If they don’t do that, then I’m wrong, and I fail to see the point in it.

Barkley was the bell cow for that franchise.  I think he will get more than a thousand yards rushing, but he doesn’t have to carry the team and that makes less than ‘22 a win for the Eagles.

Under on rushing yards and TDs, over on receiving yards and receiving TDs.

I’m not talking about his rushing yards… I already said I agreed with the ‘under’ on that total.  My point was that he would get the over on receiving.

I look at it this way… Swift averaged 5 receiving targets per game in Detroit in his 40 games there.  He averaged about 7.5 yards per reception in those games (30 yards per game).  Then he came here and averaged a measly 3 targets and 13 receiving yards per game.  Only one receiving TD for the season.

I really don’t see a point in changing offensive coordinators, letting Swift go, and signing a guy viewed as a premium RB for more money if that philosophy was going to stay the same.  If they do not have a desire to change those numbers, then why invest what they did?

I think they intend to target Barkley in the passing game quite often.  That’s my point.

Exactly what I’m trying to say

IMO, rushing yards are really, really generic…especially for any fan of this franchise.  Elite OL has been a near-constant for this franchise since AR was here, well before Stoutland.

Deandre Swift averaged 4.6 yards per carry last year.  At 3.9, Barkley hasn’t been there since 2019.  Everyone dismisses that.  And they should.  Because RB rushing yards are generic.  We all know the OL is the difference.

For years, the Eagles have plugged and played and plugged and played RBs.  The new RB outplays the one who just departed for a bigger deal.

No one is running for 2k in this offense (nor should they)…and I’d expect they’ll have the same old as always good but not spectacular rushing numbers whether it is Swift, Sanders, or Barkley.

I suspect the real opportunity to change the offense for Barkley (and Moore) will be in the air.  Our entire team was abysmal with screens last year (it wasn’t just a RB issue.  Even Stout’s OL couldn’t seem to set them up).  And, as you all know, there are more ways to get an athlete like Barkley involved in the passing game than just screens.  I don’t think the Eagles would give any skill player the money they gave Barkley if he wasn’t going to be integrated in the passing game and would just be a generic quality north south runner.

What were hurts stats throwing to the RBs in 2022? Because it seems like he doesn't know how to utilize the backs as outlets

Everyone in agreement the worst teams in the NFL this season likely will be Raiders, Broncos, Panthers, Giants, Cardinals, Patriots?

I’m going to guess the cardinals may end up the best of that group. MAYBE the raiders.

I’ll agree with you on the Titans but not Washington.

And yes, I know Washington lost Sam Howell….

None of their off-season moves were all that special, IMO. Lots of old men and JAGs with a few solid players in there. I think their OL will be improved. I'm not sold on their DL at all. Their LBs should be better and their secondary is largely still kinda meh.

If Daniels pans out I can see them winning 6 games, give or take.

I got Washington as a middle of the road team that will end up with an inflated win total. They are basically set up to shed the old vets next year and try to make a run next year if Daniels shows promise. But they do have some nice pieces on both sides of the ball so they are not complete trash like some of the other teams mentioned.

They’ll be good enough to tea bag the giants twice along with the panthers and titans. The rest of the NFC south plus the browns and Steelers are reasonable wins and that gets you to 9 right there.  Even if they drop the Steelers and browns games they could reasonably get the bears and another division game.

TL:DR; their schedule is REALLY easy.

John McMullen said something interesting about Parris Campbell on a podcast. He said he was getting a lot of looks today because he was consistently getting open with great route running. His exact quote - "If he continues to look like he did today, the third wr competition is over."

Pretty encouraging stuff.
