Ouch.

You really have to wonder how that scout feels. Y’know, the one who made it a special point to nominate him as his "favorite” for day three of the draft and award him a red dot on their draft board as a priority prospect.

I’m not sure he could ever be trusted again. I mean REALLY trusted.

Ouch.

Hated that pick at the time. And every day since

How thr hell does this work for the comp lick?

Interesting article on The Athletic about Tim Walz as a defensive coach at High School.  Loved the playbook pictures, especially the secondary running "Cover 3”, which was a three DB secondary, two cornerbacks and a single S with the instructions, no one gets deeper than you.  Ran a 4/4 front. Kind of nostalgic about HS football and refreshingly devoid of politics.

He would be my preferred target

Curious about the wording. Do those snaps have to be with the Jets...

Yeah…I have no idea how that would work.  Would the conditions the Eagles had have to be traded along with him?

I think me and @vikas83 were talking about this a month or two ago. This is unprecedented stuff. I think it would have to depend on the exact wording. It would open up some weird loopholes if the conditions transferred to a different team.

I don't get why no team wants to pay him. He's a great player. He's worth 25+ million. He's been a top 3 pass rusher in the NFL the last two seasons. He single handedly dominated the Niners in the playoffs. He's at his best in crunch time.

Not sure. Maybe they're worried about the age

Or could be an in private attitude thing. He's been wanting a new contract for years and probably disgruntled

I read that he told Jets he'd play out this year but wanted the new contract so he went back on his word. I'm guessing the terms wasn't what he wanted

I don't know why anyone would seriously consider trading to get Reddick back, even at a discount.

He left because he wanted a new deal and Howie didn't want to give it. He didn't get a new deal and is now being a malcontent. He's not going to come back and get a new deal here, so why bring that drama to the team? If the reports are true you can't even trust his word as he told the Jets he would play on his current deal and clearly is not.

Lol, Jets.

Over/under on how many weeks until he shows up after being fined?

Fine, we'll take him back for a 6th.

It's also why character matters.

I don't want a player who burns to be the highest paid player at his position to salve his ego.

If he's not driven by competitiveness, where winning is more important than money, move on.

We're not talking real money, we're talking useless money - if you're pocketing $40-50M after taxes, a few million more won't make you nearly as happy as sitting by your swimming pool in your mid-30s, reminiscing about your career and how much fun you had playing on winning teams - and odds are endorsement would cover most losses.

Ask Kelce and Cox if they feel shortchanged b/c they didn't get paid that extra three million (after taxes) they might have made if they played hardball and ended up on another team.

The irony is that malcontents who try to squeeze out every dollar often end up making less, b/c they garner a reputation and often end up in worse situations on weaker teams that shorten their career.

I think the Jets should trade Reddick to Dallas. That would really be fun.

This is also odd from the standpoint of until now Reddick has always been a really classy guy who's loved in the locker room. A good locker room guy, good community guy. Now all of a sudden he's being a PITA with his contract. I wonder if his agent is whispering bad advice into his ear.

He’s already been fined over $1M and lost out on a $250k workout bonus too.

He's been asking for a new contract for 2-3 years now I think

That wouldn't be good considering he's still a good player

Yeah, I am guessing it would come down to the wording of the actual document. If it is number of snaps played and sacks in 2025, but doesn't specifically say for the Jets, the the Eagles will argue the conditions transfer and the Jets are on the hook based on his play for the next team. If the language specifically says a % of snaps and sacks for the Jets, then we only get the 3rd would be my guess.

Probably was the plan but not working out that way. With how much work Howie put into top versatile G/T prospects in this past years draft I think he dips back into that well.

Nothing , including the holding call, that Steen did in the game on Friday makes me concerned that he is not working out.  Note that the starting OL in the Ravens game was  entirely made up of entirely of college OTs. Eagles love OL that have T backgrounds, which makes Keegan an interesting pick. Great choice though.  Thought Becton looked okay but I think Steen looked a tad better in technique.
