Difficult to not get excited about all of these guys. I think Smith and Keegan are going to surprise some folks.

The battle for the slot role between Smith, Campbell, and Covey should be a fun one. I think Smith takes it, so I won't be one of those surprised by it.

Coaching issues on offense: Siri said it's his offense, yet it didn't look like the year prior with Steichen, even in 2022 at first Siri was calling the plays and the offense wasn't performing.

Coaching issues on defense: Siri made a panic change to a guy the locker room didn't respect, said Desai is still the DC but will swap roles with Patricia, who ended up making massive changes that were worse than what Desai was doing so how was Desai still actually the DC?

Confusion and chaos.

It always matters what they do. And what they did after that was hire experienced coordinators with proven systems.

She's my new write-in for Prez.

It’s pretty remarkable how much different our draft would have likely been if the Falcons didn’t take Penix. Probably would have traded up, not gotten DeJean, etc.

I guarantee that Denver and Vegas would have taken Penix and Nix. So the impact would be who does Atlanta take instead and how that trickles down through the next 13 picks.

Below are the fourteen taken after Latham at #7.  Let's assume the Falcons take Turner, whom IIRC was mocked to them the most at #8.  9-11 probably don't change.  The Broncos take Penix.  The Raiders take Nix.  Saints, Colts, and Seahawks probably don't change.  Now it gets interesting.  There is one less top defender on the board at this point (replaced by Bowers).  The Vikings can't trade up for Turner now.  Do they trade up for Verse?  Are CBs now in play?  How far does Bowers fall?

Either way, it's arguable that the same 22 guys would go, but in a different order.

8     Atlanta Falcons    Michael Penix Jr.
9    Chicago Bears    Rome Odunze
10    Minnesota Vikings    J. J. McCarthy
11    New York Jets    Olu Fashanu
12    Denver Broncos    Bo Nix
13    Las Vegas Raiders    Brock Bowers
14    New Orleans Saints    Taliese Fuaga
15    Indianapolis Colts    Laiatu Latu
16    Seattle Seahawks    Byron Murphy II
17    Minnesota Vikings    Dallas Turner
18    Cincinnati Bengals    Amarius Mims
19    Los Angeles Rams    Jared Verse
20    Pittsburgh Steelers    Troy Fautanu
21    Miami Dolphins    Chop Robinson

He didn't really test.  He was above average in Bench, about same in shuttle, and above average in 3 cone.  All the jumping and 40 times were not tested.  Not saying he would have crushed those just that he didn't really test.

I don't know what happened with his testing.  However,   draftscout has more numbers than ras does.  If someone runs in April,  often Ras isn't on top of it.

covey and campbell should get the most snaps.  Covey is small, but over the last 2 years he's proven himself as an excellent punt returner in the NFL.   His resume in college and high school has a lot of undefeated QB, 2x state champion,  still, too small maybe, college 180+ catches,  a good number of runs, with a good high yards per carry.   And a passer rating of over 500,  3/3,  2 tds.    He's weapony,  we haven't really seen attempts to check that out.

Eagles would get 3rd round picks right?

Either way, stop stealing our front office guys, it's every Fing year. It's getting annoying.

Because he is a pod cast ****.

Patriots already have a de facto GM Eliot Wolf who just ran their entire draft. They can’t name him GM yet because they are having trouble getting outside candidates to interview because everyone knows it’s basically his job and this is all procedural.

I wouldn’t expect anything to happen here.

It’s why the draft is so enticing.  It rarely falls the way people think it will fall.

I was thinking the Eagles were all about getting a top OT in this draft.  I was well aware that CB was the next, or arguably, an equal priority.  I leaned towards OT mainly because of their previous history and Lane’s playing age (which is older than some here think it is…as far as top level play goes).

But with the way the draft went, I am happy with what they achieved.  Never dreamed of having 2 of the top DB prospects on the team.  It’s a different, but still exciting result.
