Stop falling for MLFootball headlines

Yep, no idea why people here still follow that fraud, multiple posters have warned about that guy, but people still post stuff from that account.

Many aggregators suck, but he's the worst.

Don't follow him but it showed up, among a few other accounts in similar fashion. I can't stand that account. Maybe I should just block.

At the Phillies game. So bet big on Washington today.

It's great.

I’m much more open to doing it for a good lb. Simply cause i don’t know what I’m going to get at that position this year nor a definitive long term answer. We are basically hoping white, baun, dean and trotter works out this year and next year if white, baun and dean fail then you don’t have much.

LB PFFs after 1 preseason game

Vansumeren - 91.6
Nakobe Dean - 90.4
Trotter - 63.6
Devin White - 59.9
Zach Baun - 38.4

LB PFFs after 2 preseason games

Nakobe Dean - 91.6
Vansumeren - 90.5
Devin White - 68.4
Zach Baun - 59.3
Brandon Smith - 54.9
Trotter - 40.5

Great signing.

Oh man!!! That's awesome.  I hoped for it after this olympic performance.  Heck I figured every team would want him.  I never expected the 6ers to make a move like this.  Figured they'd stay safe and bring in someone familiar like Morris.

I wasn't even sure how this would work with cap, and his buyout. And if it would fiscally make sense for him.

I think he's going to make less money in the NBA this year but I guess banking on earning a bigger deal next season.

The obsession with PFF grades is ridiculous IMO

It's data.

You seem to be against the use of data.   Opinions for you.  You're going with either the louder, more obnoxious one on the radio station,  or the more quiet one, who sits next to him.

I would like more data,  but I'll take the data that's there.

Eagles fans are never worried when they take positions that fly against the data.  They're wrong a lot.

It's pre-season. Big difference between the 1Q and 4Q of an exhibition game. I stop watching pretty much after the 3Q for that reason.

Which is why these stats are silly.

Great if Dean and vansumeren play against backups and 3rd stringers in regular season games we are set

If Dotson is waived he'll likely be claimed. Don't think he'll get to the Eagles on the wire. Which makes me wonder if the Eagles would be interested in a player for player swap with the Commies if they indeed plan on cutting him. That team could use DBs.

A lot of fans don't understand how to use the PFF grades and refuse to look into how the grades are compiled. They don't understand how a QB that throws 5 TDs in a game can have a lower grade than a QB that threw only 1 or 2 TDs. They don't understand that "outcome" is not part of the grading process. A QB can throw a screen pass to a RB and that RB can make 2 guys miss and break 3 tackles, going 95 yards for a TD. Statistically, that's a great play for the QB and is a huge boost to his passer rating, but PFF would give him a 0 grade for the play because the pass is expected to be complete and the QB is only being graded on his part, not what the receiver does after. He may even get a negative grade if a defender clearly reads the play and nearly intercepts it. That's the difference between grades (PFF) and stats.

IMO, together the two tell a more complete story than one by itself.

The other thing about grades that people need to keep in mind is the sample size. Getting a great grade like around 90  in just one quarter of a game is less impressive than getting that same grade through playing an entire game.

For the life of me I have no idea why that dude still posts here but some of the other posters have been axe'd.

I’ll give you some data. If Eagles fans are wrong a lot, you are a large contributor to that. You’re an outlier pulling up those percentages.

Old school coaches don't mince their words.   Jim Johnson had a lot of those same characteristics, and its why he was beloved here (that and that his defenses were always really strong).

I wonder how long that will last with today's athlete.  But, it is a refreshing change around here.

Mekhi Becton exits Eagles practice with apparent leg injury

A physical day of practice for the Philadelphia Eagles led to their starting right guard leaving early in the team drills, Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports reports. Mekhi Becton left practice with a right leg injury, as the Eagles starting right guard appeared to be favoring that side when he headed into the locker room.

Becton does wear a brace on his right knee, which he said he wore last season with the New York Jets. He was favoring his right leg in a practice session last week, but noted he was "good" and he "finished practice."

Guard Landon Dickerson also was hobbling most of the practice, appearing to favor his knee after the first team was finished in one of the team sessions. Dickerson came off limping after a 1-on-1 rep with Milton Williams, but stayed and finished the practice. Dickerson missed some of the first week of camp with a lacerated toe, but left a practice early with the knee injury. He did return later that practice, but hasn't missed a day of the open practices since the toe injury.

Second-team guard Tyler Steen is also out with an ankle injury he aggravated in the second preseason game. With Becton and Steen out, Brett Toth took over the first-team right guard duties.

First of all, Becton is just not very good.  Good drive blocker but lost in space against speed and stunts.  Secondly, he has a long injury history.  Hoping Steen can get healthy.  Not a Becton fan.
