"Chang argues that China’s regime under Jinping cannot admit it’s not able to stand up to Washington. "China, without any announcements, is not collecting tariffs on important goods. So for instance, some semiconductors, aviation products, industrial chemicals, medical devices, some medicines," he listed.

"This is going to expand," Chang predicted. "It means that China has made an important concession. But it's not saying it's making a concession, which is a fascinating insight into the Chinese political system right now, which has become both intransigent and inflexible."

Citing two sources familiar with the matter, Reuters reported on Tuesday that China has decided to waive the 125% tariff on ethane imports from the United States imposed earlier this month.

Some quick thoughts on "Liberation Day," also known as "Liquidation Day." Obviously, these tariffs are way beyond anything the market expected. I think very little of Trump and the administration

I don't pretend to understand your mental illness but your commitment to it is first rate. I'm not even going to discount your advanced age.

Unfortunately, I believe a recession is probably what this country needs to motivate enough people to show up and vote for the other side. It's the economy stupid.

A recession of the scope your seeking only creates slaves to government.

What we need is a total cleanse of the palate. Asteroid.

oh, the idiot edgelord character is back

Not that the doomers are wrong about supply shortages but with food it's going to be very regional. Take Texas as an example. They import a ton of food from Mexico and Central America. Northern states probably source more from Canada.

So in those instances you're more likely to see skyrocketing prices instead of empty shelves at major grocery stores in those states.

Now... if you live in a rural area all bets are off.

That's the GOP spin now. We're not complaining about high prices anymore. We're taking our medicine.
