We can make better money by having other countries make the inexpensive, low skill labor, parts, and paying our more skilled workers to assemble those parts into more expensive end products.

The soy bean farmers were affect the first time. Even if he lowers/removes tariffs sometimes the damage to reputation is already done.

When ish inevitably hits the fan, countries we don't like will control all of our agriculture, manufacturing capabilities, and raw materials.  Im sure we can defend and feed ourselves by selling digital entertainment or IT services.
