  • Some quick thoughts on "Liberation Day," also known as "Liquidation Day." Obviously, these tariffs are way beyond anything the market expected. I think very little of Trump and the administration

Napoleon maxxing today.

mayanh8: Kz said prices would go down after tariffs because of patriotism!

Me: What? No.

Little man: pulls a post saying some American companies unaffected by the tariffs might keep prices the same depending on their profitability.

Yeah, dude, totally the same thing! lol roll

And how'd your prediction play out so far, Nostradumbass? Did companies elect to keep prices the same for funsies?

It was always curious to me how something as awesomely beneficial as tourism clashed with hard core nationalism. Like, you really don't want foreigners even as tourists? It' f'ing nuts to see in action.

I know you're still doing the illiterate bit to try to salvage some respectability, but it clearly wasn't a prediction. I said if an American company was profitable without raising prices, it's conceivable they wouldn't. I know, what a wild and wacky statement. I really went off the rails, there! lol

"I didn't say it would happen, I just proposed how a fantasy scenario that completely defies the basic tenets of economics would play out in my head!"

Correct, there were clearly no predictions in the post, and, again, saying it's conceivable businesses unaffected by tariffs wouldn't raise prices is in no way controversial or even debatable. But sure, that really defies the "basic tenets of economics!"

This is why you simply shouldn't engage with male liberals. They'll battle the English language tooth and nail to argue some inane point. lol

^He still doesn't understand how supply and demand works. Good Lord, they're all so incredibly dumb.

Totally, little fella. lol

CVON is the only place you can come and say something as banal as "it's conceivable businesses unaffected by tariffs wouldn't raise prices" and end up with two retards reeing at you nearly a year later.

"Maybe companies will just elect to be less profitable because they're nice" is an absolutely wild take for an alleged conservative roll

"If I'm unaffected by tariffs but my competitor's prices are significantly increased while demand remains static, I'll just elect to keep my prices the same and forgo additional profit because this is something that totally would happen in real life!"

If increased profitability was dependent on having a now competitively lower price point than the Chinese competitor, yes, a company may elect to keep their prices the same.

I know, wild, crazy, inconceivable and against all the laws of supply and demand! lol

lol, again, this is why you don't interact with male liberals. lol

Yeah dude and I also may elect to tongue punch Sydney Sweeney's fart box in a similarly plausible scenario where that can totally happen. Wild and crazy!

To be fair, when KZ was posting that, he was probably euphoric about the really good deal he got on his $500 Trump phone. Everything must have seemed cheap at the time!

Yeah I can see how interacting with anyone with a 4th grade education and above would be hard for you.

Do you legitimately have trouble conceiving of a scenario in which a business wouldn't raise it's prices? This is such a random and weird topic to argue, but I know the libtards on here do get desperate from time to time. lol

Did you legitimately conceive of a scenario in which the cost of inputs are significantly increased and yet prices remain the same?

You are very smart. The way you distilled what I've been arguing over the last several pages into this succinct sentence was masterful.

"Maybe companies will just elect to be less profitable because they're nice."

So much of arguing with male liberals is just them feigning illiteracy. It's wild. lol

We're talking about businesses unaffected by the tariffs, phillytwerp. Now I have five libtards reeing over one of my hottest takes ever, apparently. Who are we missing? Where's that barho ***got? lol
