Dotson has been highly disappointing so far.  Covey going to be our main slot guy when he returns?  Also, what's going on with Johnny Wilson?

Disappointing is putting it lightly too. I would try and grab Thielen from the panthers. Should not cost much and could fit like a glove here. Reliable and should be a good fit in the receiver room.

Wonder if we can grab a LB like Zaire Franklin or Germaine Pratt. Both of those teams seem to be on the outs. Cincy may be primed to trade a pass rusher too say Hendrickson.

I wonder what QB the Giants take with the #2 overall pick.

As I see it, the Titans, Browns, Raiders and Giants are all looking likely to be up in the top 10 picks and definitely looking for a QB come year end, then you've got the Jets and Panthers who may want to take a look too, I'm not sure there's that much QB talent available, certainly not sure things.

Stoll is a decent blocker which is important given the calculator's deficiencies.

Was it Calcaterra that looked like he almost juked around Bosa giving him a free run at Hurts in the 49ers game last year?

They need to stop giving them primetime games

Hurts and the offense have played much better over the last few weeks, but I haven't seen a single person give Sirianni any credit.

There were plenty saying his system was garbage and didn't utilize the middle of the field, which has been proven false. It's amazing how much better the system looks when the QB stops turning the ball over and uses all areas of the field.

Regardless of his faults, I will give he and Moore some credit as well.

When it's good then Moore gets the credit. When it's bad then Siri gets the blame

Maybe Howie/Lurie had a talk with Nick?

I figured out something we can complain about. It's Kelly Green week! Nike sucks at Kelly Green! :furious:

I did.

I credited the coaches for making adjustments and for better play calling. The team was prepared and focused, other than the slow starts. They didn't technically score in the 1st quarter, but did score on the drive that bled into the 2nd quarter.

This felt like the adjustments that we expected after the bye. Even Fangio on defense. The whole team had an all around good game.

I'm more annoyed that they haven't made kelly green permanent yet

The current Kelly Green > Midnight Green.

The greens ranked:

  1. 90s Kelly Green
  2. Current Kelly Green
  3. Midnight Green
  4. That neon Kelly Green mess in 2008

I’m still mad at the Phillies so that covers me. Also wish they’d come out with a white version of the Kelly green jersey

At 5.8 yards per catch Dotson's catch % should be in the high 80s, not 46.2% -- yuck.

I suspect Covey will resume PR duties when able; even though DeJean has been very good there, I think the Eagles would prefer not use a starting DB on PR duty.  Covey didn't show nearly enough at WR to supplant Dotson; he caught a few short flares from Hurts at the sideline during one game, making up most of his catch production, and certainly didn't do anything exciting with the ball in his hands.

I suspect Johnny Wilson just isn't very good, but he'll get this season and next to show whether he can develop into a useful player.

Why?

Dotson isn't bad due to his talent. There's tons of film and examples of him being open and running good routes. The QB just doesn't look to him or throw his way. Same exact thing will happen if they bring in another WR like Thielen.

Hot take: position we should trade for at trade deadline is RB.

Go get Sydney’s twin to spell Saquon, and just barrel over everyone the rest of the season

Dotson is not here to take targets away from Brown and Smith.  He is here to step in if one goes down - an insurance policy.

The fact that he wasn't effective when Brown missed games, IMO, had more to do with Hurts' trust than Dotson's ability.

It’s more than just "run more when we have the lead.” This goes back to 2021 when we shifted to becoming a run first football team and it saved our season. We’ve always been better as a run heavy team in with Sirianni.

Dotson, at the 40, is even more open than Brown.  Not a complaint, just an observation.

Agree with his take on that.  It’s ok to go big before the deadline for someone that would work anywhere and a player it’s obvious you would keep and extend their contract.  Otherwise it’s basically throwing wet noodles against the wall, hoping something sticks.
