I don't watch baseball so help me understand. Why not try to get the player that closer to scoring than the one going to 1st base?

Beyond bad.  I've never heard of such a thing for a QB in the NFL... or NCAA... or even high school.

I think everyone initially just thought he was injured

Reminds me of the Jim Schwartz quote, "you keep doing dumb ass things, pretty soon you're going to be labeled as a dumb ass".

Forgot all about Gordon. Holy crap what a waste that was of talent. So glad that wasn't us

The Schwartz quote was about a player getting caught accidentally bringing a gun to the airport IIRC

So does anyone want to take up weekly prediction responsibilities for the rest of the year? (not it)

Nigel Bradham

It finally kicked in today. We will challenge for a Super Bowl this year. Pieces are falling into place and I have that funny little feeling

That was crazy when Owens came out defending Romo. I would take Romo over Dak all day, every day, and twice on Sunday. Romo had his issues but the dude could ball.

BigEFly is out on the road again. Today I ate at 1050 BBQ in Richardson outside Dallas today with the wife, her cousin and husband.  Sorry @Joe Ball but there is something deeply satisfying as a former Oilers fan and Eagles fan about being in the Dallas area when they lose. (Last night and for lunch today.). As I was chatting with cousin’s husband I mentioned Jerruh.  The table next to us went ballistic at the mention of Jerruh.  Guy nearest me said "F Jerry.  We’ll never win any f ing thing until he sells the team”.  I told him I am an Eagles fan.  He said we are so lucky with our owner.  I mentioned that some believe Lurie gets too involved. Whole table just about spit out their beer at that and then went on a tangent about Jerry being too involved. Overall, we had a good conversation.  Like I suspect many of us, they do expect the wheels to come off soon in DC.  After the beat down the Birds gave the Bengals, they believe the Eagles win the division.  They are a bit delusional in that they think when their injured players return they will sew up a wild card spot.

I think the locker room will be too far gone to salvage a WC no matter who comes back this year from IR or injury period. I'm telling you, Jerry is a fairly hated person here around north Texas among the Cowboy faithful...not tee shirt fans, but lifers like myself.

Ten 50 is some pretty good BBQ and about 5 blocks from our corporate office, I haven't been in a couple of year since i work from home now. Next time you are in town you need to try Lockharts in Plano, about 4 miles north of Ten 50, hit me up...I'll meet you for some good BBQ.

Good showing this past weekend by the birds, looked like the team I expected to see this year.

G-d bless Jerry.  He should just keep on keepin' on!

If Sunday wasn't a one-off, absolutely. That was the game we needed to see from Hurts as a passer; decisive, stood in the pocket. Only had 2 bad throws i can remember and no turnovers. We get that Hurts the rest of the year and the defense can at least stay in the 12-15 range in PPG we can win against anyone the way Barkley is running

Wow  that’s incredibly damming! The Colts are absolutely making the right choice there. Yet another great athlete that just can’t play QB. When will teams learn that more often than not taking these guys high doesn’t work.

He did nothing of consequence at UF, it was incredibly surprising for him to be drafted where he was.

The thing is Richardson was never ever going to be ready to start this year, coming out of college he was a long term project that needed to sit and learn for a few years to see if you can sort out his mechanics and fundamentals to match his elite physical tools. Starting him now is just exposing all the flaws that were clearly identified in all his scouting reports.

Drafting him 4th overall pick was always absurd, he should have been a day 3 flyer. He's another symptom of the ridiculousness of QB drafting these days. talking up guys who are borderline UDFA level as first round talents.

I think Richardson was a GM pick, and don't think that's who Steichen wanted to draft and hitch his wagon to. The Joe Flacco led colts put up the most against the steelers this year and they just play significantly better with him at QB. I hope I'm not summoning someone after posting this.

Now if they only watched his college tape and saw he couldn't throw a football.

Hurts successful 2022 was a big reason for that.  They had just hired his OC from that season to be their HC.  A lot of people thought Steichen could do the same things with him, but some players are built differently upstairs.  Hurts has his limitations, but no one would question his maturity, heart, and work ethic.  It’s not a "just find and athlete and plug and play” thing

Steroids are legal with a prescription as are many drugs and substances (many of  which can be bought without a prescription) that are banned by the NFL. Cannabis is banned in a majority of work places --- especially where employee safety is a real concern. The NFL is giving men with talent an opportunity to make a lot more money over a short period of their life than the average successful person. They will have the best facilities and access to the best medical treatments. If a person can't go up to two decades without smoking a joint for those benefits, I don't feel sorry for them. Cannabis isn't something the human body requires to function nor is it something naturally craved. It's a recreational drug that is being increasingly legalized under the farce of medicinal purpose.
