I think the team is legit. But that doesn’t mean Baltimore is the only team on the schedule that can test us. We still do a lot of losing things. That’s the point.

Yep. Steelers defense will probably be the best we'll face all year and I wouldn't be shocked if our defense comes back down to earth against the Rams.

I like the casualness of being like "he’s a big dumb *****”

One day the Phillies will catch their losses too. Granted we wont be alive

At the time, Hamilton and McDuffie would fit.  McDuffie being a premier position might get the nod over Hamilton, though S is becoming more and more premier.

Agreed those are two possibilities.  Slay had just been traded for, but the other CB, manned by Avonte Maddox would have been a nice spot for McDuffie to land.  Our Safeties were McLeod and Mills, with hopeful backups in Epps and Wallace, so I never considered Hamilton a fit.

Respective to the rest of the NFL I feel good about the Eagles in pretty much every area except the passing game. The passing game still feels broken, I'm sorry. For the weapons this team has it should feel far more explosive. And yes I know the Eagles have a lot of explosive plays this year but it feels like every game is a slog until they bust a big play or two. And their first half offense is just flat out awful, I'm sorry.

The saving grace is that no team in the NFL has truly looked great in all aspects consistently this year. So the Eagles look good compared to the rest of the league. But they've got to get this passing game fixed. Hurts needs to see the field better. And they need to scheme guys open more often, though I think they are more than appears and Hurts is just missing them. I can't stress enough how tired I am of the contested sideline throws on 3rd downs.

On the Jordan Davis conversation -- I think there is a decent chance we extend him this offseason (instead of exercising the 5th year option) at a somewhat team friendly number. I wouldn't discount the value he seems to place on playing with his Georgia boys. Kinda thinking they try and get Dean and Davis on reasonable extensions this offseason.

I think that would be great especially given the time it can take to reach potential at the position and long term value.  Davis is an above average run defender.  He can still develop as a pass rusher.

I think we're intoxicated from the big plays and we hit so many of them it makes sense to fish for them often

Almost caught up to the Commies as well in the all-time series: 89–86–6

Will be decades before we catch up to Dallas, if ever.

Need to build on our lead on the Giants while they suck for the next while.

100% when saw it live though Dean was dead man walking. This was an incredible play by him

If Howie gets Parsons with Carter that defense would be insane

Some Philadelphia businesses need to come up with an endorsements package that makes it really easy for Parsons to come home to Pennsylvania with a team friendly deal that combined with the endorsements money makes it an easy decision for Parsons.

Glad to see you have found your way back to the EMB.  I hope you and your family are doing well.

Probably Hamilton and karlaftis but a lot of people on here didn’t like him. I’d say Trent mcduffie but we don’t need him cause we got dejean and Mitchell.

As I said above to @Iggles_Phan Hamilton would have been an addition to McLeod, Mills, Epps and Wallace. Wallace didn't pan out, but the team did have hopes for them.  Karlaftis would have been a nice fit ... but better than Davis?  I'm not sure that is the case.

Going to be a bigger challenge for secondary cause nacua and kupp might be the best tandem we’ve faced since the bye and possibly the rest of the year. Frankly Robinson and atwell as their 3rd and 4th WRs are guys who probably could be low end starters on some other teams.

Last I read was Dallas was in no hurry to extend him and Parsons was willing to wait next year

It'd be crazy if Dallas let him walk

Karlaftis is pretty good. Had 10.5 sacks last year (3 in the playoffs too). on pace for 8 this year and really has a chance to get to double digits when you look at who the chiefs face after Buffalo.

I disagree.  Percentage of snaps is a "derrierre in the chair" approach to evaluating an employee.  That is a bureaucracy approach.  I'm much more of a fan of a meritocracy approach to employee evaluation.  And the merit to Davis' onfield play is that he forces the opposing team to change their game plan.

Not exactly.  If Davis forces them to throw the ball, and we don't have players capable of making plays in the passing game, that's a self-defeating effort.   Without Mitchell and Dejean being added Davis forcing teams to beat us through the air would just be a faster way to lose.  Davis can't impact the game from the sidelines.  So, is it Davis that makes the difference, or having two young studs at DB that makes passing the ball much much harder?   Players who can only do one thing are less valuable than players who can do multiple things, even if the one thing they do is very good.    For example, Carter is a more valuable piece, because he's effective against both the run and the pass, and he plays in both situations, and at a very high level.  Davis is a less valuable piece, and more easily replaced, because he's only showing acute abilities in one phase of the game, and is by and large ineffective in the other phase.

Davis' run stuffing ability was pretty worthless for this team down the stretch last year as team after team would just throw the ball down the field with impunity.  Sort of makes him a complete non-factor without the players on the back end that can shut down the passing game.

Yep, and Stafford still has some zip on his passes too. Should be interesting to see how we hold up.

None of them were long term fits, so Hamilton was definitely an option, IF they were willing to spend a first on a safety.

I am going to be a bit of a contrarian but I don't want the Eagles to sign Parsons.  I get the appeal of signing him and there's no doubt he would add a lot as a pass rusher.  I just think the team is better served focusing on the core players we have currently. Keeping Baun, Nolan Smith, Davis and Blankenship long-term are better building blocks.

Adding too it Williams is a good pass catcher out of the backfield which we had trouble with ekeler last night.

i thought the rams were going to look better vs. Miami then they did. Felt like the rams oline that hasn’t played together all that much had issues and Miami just played more desperate

Yeah but Stafford got killed a week ago against Miami. Their o line didn't block for crap
