I just watched the Eagle Eye Podcast and both Dave and Reub think the Eagles should walk all over the Falcons on MNF. Then Reub mentioned that Cousins is terrible on MNF. He's 3-10 all time on MNF. They then brought up that it's the technical home opener, they are honoring Nick Foles etc. I just got a sinking feeling that brought me back to the Reggie White MNF Seattle game and the Joe Webb game.

The Eagles SHOULD dominate this game, but ugh, it has all the makings for an Eagles stinker too. Never fails when a player has a never does well in this situation against the Eagles.

@mattwill

Eagles- 45

Vikings- 23

Saquon - 185 yards total, 2 TD.

Quinyon - 2 INTs

Carter - sack, FF

There's a scenario where the Falcons identify that Kirk Cousins has no mobility and thus rely heavily on the run, which the Eagles couldn't reliably stop last week:

-Falcons run the ball and shorten the game.  They have two good RBs

-Eagles offense leaves more points on the field and turns the ball over.

-Falcons get enough breaks to grab the lead and hang on.

Who here couldn't see this happening

Love the Animal House reference and for the newbies around here....it's almost laughable how many times the actual movie has been quoted on here and it never fails..when someone posts "Was it over...when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"...someone actually comes in here and tries to correct it.

I think there were some scheme issues up front that impacted the run defense last week.  They caught the d-line in slants and one gapping for the big runs by Wilson and Jacobs.  The other big run was the WR sweep to Reed.  That run was because of a combination of bad angles and poor tackling. It's not like they were blowing Eagles defenders off of the ball.  That being said, it would be foolish if they didn't look at the success Green Bay had and didn't try to run some of the same things.

Best record in baseball. :phil:

Magic number for the playoffs/division - 10.  Bye - 15.  Top seed - 17.

The ten games after tonight, NYM (3), at MIL (3), at NYM (4), will clarify their place in the playoffs.

How's the interior o line of the Falcons? With Cousins looking like a statue last week, Carter could be in for a monster day.

One of the sideshows of this season is that the Mets are now only 3 games behind the Yankees for bragging rights to New York City.

They may be a home for Devin White.  Give them Devin White in exchange for Dorian Thompson-Robinson.  Get it done Howie!

They estimated him going 60 in a 45

How can they issue a ticket based on an estimate? It sounds like the only valid violation is seat belt. It doesn't even sound like careless and reckless should be on the table.

Yeah, I don’t understand how anyone could watch Hurts last game and come away with the idea that he didn’t make a lot of unnecessary, high risk decisions.

It is what it is.

The good news is that Hurts is actually pretty darn good throwing from the pocket when he actually does it. Can coaching fix this and teach him to be more patient and throw in rhythm? Theoretically, yes, absolutely. In practice, it’s more complicated. Some players just get stuck in behavioral ruts that they never overcome.

Hurts plays really well when the play call works and his first read is there.  He Really it seems if they just stopped with the RPO's alot of the negative plays would stop.  A QB running game predicated on Hurts trying to out run a scraping LB to the edge is not going to work.  He needs to work on stepping up in the pocket and progressing in his reads rather than trying to escape.  One of the issues with this may just be his vision behind that massive o-line.  Hurts isn't towering over these guys.

Honestly, I could paint a positive scenario for the lesser team to win in every game every week.  That’s the NFL… just look at the Patriots in week 1.  It’s also why I don’t wager on games.  My gut is telling me right now the Eagles could win by three scores… But they are only favored by 6.

It's very good. The offense stinks, however, mostly because as you say Cousins looks like a statue. They line up a TE on the right wing, motion him across and basically run what looks like a single wing. About half their pass plays are a scissors pattern - two WRs running straight up the field, one in the lead then the trailing WR crosses behind the lead. They must have run that one pattern ten times against the Steelers.

No kidding…or hope he doesn’t get benched.  I picked up the Jags D for my team this week.  Surprised nobody else in my league put a claim in…

@mattwill  Eagles 34   Falcons 13

Bonus: Saquon gets 125+ rushing yards.
