He said he was back to his normal weight after a week. He apparently trains for these contests so that he is pretty in-tune with his body and gets regular check-ups from his doctors. There's a Q&A from wired where he said there are certain contests (ie fried foods) that are harder on his body but the hotdog one isn't too bad.

I haven't QB or WR, but I really enjoyed the Florida documentary. Manziel was good too. Those early 2000s years were peak college football for me. Looking back, 2000-2008ish was probably peak football for me all around. Miss that era.

Yeah I watched that one as well forgot about it.  Was crazy what meyer put them through but if he tried that in Jacksonville it would make sense why he didn't last.

Bummer Trent Williams caved. Would have loved some early season controversy for the 49ers.

Wouldn't really call it caved. Sounds like 49ers are giving him a new deal.

Eagles are gonna have to beat these teams as they are, can't hope they fall apart to make it easier. Though I do think the Niners will probably trade Deebo at some point, but probably not until the offseason. It doesn't seem like they want two uber high priced WRs having to pay Purdy soon.

Is there anyone whose voice less matches their look than Matt Patricia?

Sounds like per Zangaro that Covey is the new Greg Ward/Boston Scott of the locker room:

For the last two seasons, Britain Covey has been a popular guy in the Eagles’ locker room and in the receiver meeting room. Part of his role is to lighten the mood and he does that with aplomb.

Star receiver DeVonta Smith recently handed out a big compliment to Covey.

"He’s the light of the room,” Smith said. "In the room, he’s always the guy keeping the spirits up, no matter if anybody is having a bad day, he’s going to be the guy to make sure that everybody in the room is having fun. Whoever it is who may be down a day, he doesn’t continue to let them feel that way.”

From the outside, Smith and Covey are very different. One was a Heisman Trophy winner and early first-round pick. The other was an undrafted rookie a few years ago and finally made the 53-man roster out of training camp for the first time in 2024.

But Smith and Covey are close. Aside from both being fathers to young children, they’re two of the smallest players on the team. They joke about that a lot.

"He probably weighs a little more than me so I consider myself the smallest guy,” Smith said.

ESP talking about how out of it he is today after the long flight to Brazil yesterday.   Had me worried about Eagles flying down tomorrow and not earlier in the week.  Looks like Packers are also flying out tomorrow though so at least both teams won't have too much time to get back into the swing of things

Covey and Wilson give them different options/looks as the 4th WR, Covey is the quick underneath guy who is a total mismatch against LBs, and most 4th CBs.

Wilson is H-back sized and can block. With his size and reach, comes down to his hands, if he make catches in crowds, doesn't need a lot of separation.

He's tall, physically big and a cannon for an arm.  You would think there would be some coaches that could mold him into a quality QB at least.

But it seems he just relies on his physical traits rather than learning how to play the position.

He's been holding in. He is in the facility, but not practicing. Same thing Aiyuk was doing.

Football is in 3 days.

What a time to be alive

Is he going to play week 1? Didn't know there was a hold out and hold in lol

Thought wanting a new contract and refusing to participate was holding out

I just talked to a Brazilian buddy of mine. Apparently GB is the most popular team in Brazil. Followed by the 49ers then the Patriots. Why, I have no idea. There are a lot of Brazilian immigrants in New England so I get that. But I can't imagine too many go to Green Bay if they can avoid it. 🤷

Same colors as the Brazilian flag?

I travel to Tokyo and the Middle East routinely for work. Long flights suck but honestly the way these guys travel, business class/charter, it’s really not that bad. Hydrate, sleep, they’ll be ok. Notably Brazil isn’t far off as far as time zones. They’ll be fine.
