We'll find out if it was the right move in January or February, I think it's too early to say right now. A variety of things will dictate that. But it certainly could prove to be a really poor decision and I don't consider it all that unrealistic. To me the Eagles losing in January because the pass rush wasn't up to par is no less likely than Reddick getting paid and being highly productive for a few more seasons.

It's too early, but we'll find out before Jan/Feb.

That's why I said "If he stays the same". If he develops further and the upside is still there, sure. If he stays the same he's been thus far, the upside is limited.

It would be funny if they moved him to just being an edge rusher and he got more snaps than Huff.

Yea, basically. They did it last year too but did it once a week. I guess because Sterns isn’t close to practicing that’s why they are doing it daily. 

Do teams pay players when they sign them to the practice squad? Like a signing bonus ?

I don't believe Okwara was ever on our practice squad. I thought he was on Arizona's and then got promoted within.

I think part of this practice squad game the Eagles play involves actual paychecks. I don't know the specifics -- AT ALL -- but it's my understanding that there's a specific moment in the week where players qualify to get paid. My guess is that the Eagles do these moves to ensure that players get their money.

Sterns got his paycheck for last week even though he was released on Tuesday before the game. I think there was something where Howie does this to essentially extend the roster and pay goodwill towards vets. They get their paycheck and Howie typically releases them later in the week where its too late and difficult for another team to pick them up, and they'll be back next week.
