Peters was ready to throw hands with the entire Washington roster after that Baker cheap shot. That Chip Era always feels like a blur to me, but that was a great win.

DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jordan Matthews and Riley Cooper (no matter off field opinions) is as good a WR group as there's been for the Eagles in some time. Add in Shady, Sproles and Celek and that offense was loaded.

Because I'm bored, and also a nerd, going off of vikas' point on the rookie QB deal aspect, I calculated the average number of QBs taken in the first rd since the introduction of the rookie pay scale and compared it to the avg number of QBs taken in the same number of years prior.

It has really ticked up since 2018.   5+  3x in 7 drafts.   Meanwhile, only 1 time had 5 Qbs before that going back to 1997.   That's crazy, and that was a truly 'historic' class as discussed at the time.   Couch, McNabb, Smith, Culpepper and McCown.    They were likened to the 1983 draft at the time, IIRC.

Just too quick to go pro for some of these guys... and who can really blame them, they can get NFL teams to trip all over themselves to get in position to draft middling QBs (JJ McCarthy).   And go even more crazy for guys with rare physical traits, even if they never really did it successfully in the NCAA (Richardson).

He couldn’t push off his back foot. It slowed his delivery and most of his throws were high. And, he can’t move.

P.S. He takes most of his snaps under center but not last week. Almost everything was out of the gun. He can’t even drop back comfortably.

They just said on Pre-game live that he took only 2 snaps from under center, they were both spikes to stop the clock.   And there was a ridiculous split with shot gun and passes, versus pistol and runs.  Seems they are tipping their hand quite a bit just by formation.

At the same time, just trade an ILB or a CB.

MNF Countdown seriously spending an hour talking about leadership.  We aren’t storming the beaches of Normandy here.

It was BS when Hurts was called such an epic leader before he was even handed the starting job and it’s BS that people are freaking out about his personality not being conducive to leadership now.

In the sports world, leadership comes after you establish yourself as a perennially dominant player that others look up to.  The Garrett Stubbs and Koy Detmers of the world are great locker room personalities, but you can’t lead from the bottom.  Jason Kelce was a character, not a leader, when he was young.  The leadership came in time, not coincidentally around the time HOF conversations started.  I’ll worry about what kind of leader Hurts is after he’s 100% displayed what kind of QB he is.

Unless there’s an injury I think white will be traded.

Who will be interested in giving up anything for him?  Why would they?  He was available as a free agent this offseason, and no one really sniffed besides the Eagles.

Why do we convince ourselves that other teams are just lining up to trade assets for our castoffs all the time?

On paper, IMO, that’s the best the Eagles have ever had.  Riley Cooper was actually kind of good.  But I don’t think they were ever really cranking together.  Cooper’s big year was 2013…he wasn’t used much or as effective before (or after that)…and I think Maclin spent that year on IR.  Then Desean was gone.

Falcons should put London in the slot all game and just hunt Maddox.

Jalyx Hunt is active. Hope he gets to do something cool.

If he gets his name called in the game, that would be more than Huff did last week.

Right, on paper. If they were all together and their peak, could have been amazing. Cooper in 2013 had 800 yards, averaged nearly 18 yards per catch and had 8 TDs. Those are incredible numbers. Jordan Matthews had 19 TDs his first 3 seasons. We know about the rest. Shame we didn't see them all perform at their highest at the same time.

Of course, there is only one football to go around and that’s part of why their respective best seasons were staggered around the availability of the others.  But I do think Cooper and Matthews, in particular, were uneven in their level of play.  They were pretty different players in their good vs. lean years, IMO.

These two teams are done.

Damn…really looking that way.  I hate that it’s going that way (injuries).  I kind of expected the 49ers to have a hangover, but for other hangover reasons (that it’s just hard to reload and do it again the very next year).  I really hate it when injuries derail a team…any team

This feels like a loss. Chance to go up a game on Niners, cowboys, and Lions. Home opener. No Brown.

The one saving grace is Cousins in prime time

Rams in particular have been having terrible luck the last two years with injuries. It’s really odd how many guys they have piled up in game.

Also, the Foles retirement and Kelce's first game at the Linc since retiring...a lot of the off field hoopla that usually accompany an Eagles egg.
