How many touches did Covey get tonight?  It was probably more than twice the offensive touches in his previous career

Hurts is like 4th or 5th down on the list of reasons for why they lost.

Fangio

Sirianni

Barkley, one of the best receiving backs in the NFL, dropping a perfectly placed, game-winning 3 yard pass

No pass rush from the DL whatsoever

BARKLEY??????? I don't give a F if he dropped a ball on the world's dumbest playcall. Without him this offense scores 6 points

eagles had 9 penalties to their 3 , another issue to top off the flawed team

It's a coaching issue. HC is an immature moron hence the sloppiness.

There are 11+ players on defense who were bigger problems, coaches, 2 penalties on the center, etc etc but some people on here just decide to blame Hurts.

Sorry, after that last throw, you can't wash away the stupidity of Hurts by just blaming the coach, who's another idiot.

Or you can blame Smith like DWatzwhatever his name is

I can't believe Barkley dropped that. It's game over and we're laughing.

I wouldn’t be laughing. I see exactly what this team is — a waste of time. Might as well sim forward to see who the next HC is.

Hurts can't be throwing the ball in big spots during games. He should be looking to make plays with his legs first in those moments. You can't trust his eyes or his arm.

I think, by now, we know this is not going to be a good pass rush or a particularly good DL.  The real question is if our first glance sense of panic is accurate…that they are completely dead on arrival.

But this also speaks to the draft philosophy.  Everyone can say all they want about how Davis is so stout against the run and is going to be a good pick because he impacts the game in many ways without filling up the stat sheet as a pass rusher…and Carter being one of the best young defensive players in the NFL.  But we have ENORMOUS capital sitting in DTs that are doing almost nothing to disrupt the passing game when we sure could use some of that investment on the edge.

Probably, but the fact QB1 is that f'ing stupid and obviously didn't learn from the Seattle game is a bigger concern long-term. Coaches are easy to change. QB1 is not the guy.

I just watched the Eagle Eye Podcast and both Dave and Reub think the Eagles should walk all over the Falcons on MNF. Then Reub mentioned that Cousins is terrible on MNF. He's 3-10 all time on MNF. They then brought up that it's the technical home opener, they are honoring Nick Foles etc. I just got a sinking feeling that brought me back to the Reggie White MNF Seattle game and the Joe Webb game.

The Eagles SHOULD dominate this game, but ugh, it has all the makings for an Eagles stinker too. Never fails when a player has a never does well in this situation against the Eagles.

@mattwill

Eagles- 45

Vikings- 23

Saquon - 185 yards total, 2 TD.

Quinyon - 2 INTs

Carter - sack, FF

Me 6 days ago was right. Not the predictions part but the let down part.

Howie had a terrible offseason. He does what he always does, he over-corrects and gets cute. He saw the Niners get to a SB with CMC and thought "That's what I want too!" and if they wanted Barkley, that's fine, but they neglected other positions typically value way more. He went away from their typical model.

I want to be mad at Saquon for dropping that ball on that play and not just running it so you can burn as much time as possible. Both can’t happen and frankly I’d have just run the ball and burn clock at worse

But the defense allowing the falcons to go 70 yards in 1:04 with no timeouts is embarrassing. They did the same Fing thing last year against the commanders and got lucky Rivera was a **** and didn’t go for 2. This comes down to the Eagles defense is not good. Fangio can come here and run his system, but the system has been caught up by the rest of the league. The then when you add the fact you have no pass rush and you can’t stop the run, eventually you’ll run into teams better than Atlanta and they’ll break your bend but don’t break defense

Has a team ever given up an easier 70 yards? My goodness what was that last possession?

Nope, I cant ever remember a D worth a Damn giving up 70 yards that quickly and easily

Not sure what the F fangio was doing all game. Rushing 4 and dropping 7 all game isnt gonna work when those 4 get zero pressure nor can stop the run.

Jordan Davis was never a pass rusher at georgia and now that hes slimmed down hes not a run stopper either☹️

No Slay, huh?

This team needs a reset. Starting with the HC.

I hope they lose by 40 next week to NO.

A bounce back win would help but I’m more interested to see how this team handles Siri and do they still believe in and support him enough to go out Sunday and bust their ass for him?

I’m not blaming Hurts for the loss but his game outside of a few rushes was awfully average. 6.1 average with this many weapons even without Brown is not good.

Shameful

Everyone had to know this was a loss when they announced that. They should just this ish during the week cause every Fing time it's a terrible loss

Given where he was drafted, Davis is approaching bust status.

Hurts was fine for the most part tonight but it’s still not a well-oiled offense. It’s clunky to say the least. They had to absolutely grind for every first down. Dotson is invisible in this offense, Goedert is pretty much cooked, and there was a stretch there where everything ran through Covey. Hurts saved some drives with his legs but that is not a sustainable strategy and will lead to him getting hurt for the third season in a row (technically 4th if you count the ankle surgery at the end of 2021).

I’d put the new OC right next to Sirianni. I thought the dope playcalling was supposed to stop with the new OC?

Hurry up to the stadium and drive your boy home. After that throw, you won't have to worry about him holding his head up

I can't even bring myself to blame the D for the last drive. Once you see such a dumb call to lose the game, you just know it's over.

While I agree with you, I think the Eagles have to bash their collective heads against that wall until the wall either breaks down or they knock themselves out in the process.  You can’t have a $250m qb with all-world WRs that can’t throw the ball in big spots and has to run first as a battering ram.

They are going nowhere unless that reality changes.  So they might as well risk losing games trying to change it and get Hurts right rather than treat him like a rookie or a backup QB.

Through 2 games there’s some concerning signs. I know this defense made plays in the red zone today but when it mattered they choked and it was too soft.
