Seemed like the defense played passive until Atlanta got down in the RZ.  Then he'd get a little aggressive and maybe send some blitzes down there.

I don't like the strategy but it's bend and then tighten up in the RZ.

I'm hoping as the season goes on he will change that but have my doubts.

Which is an organizational philosophy. Has been for years. Going to keep bringing in DC who do what Lurie/Howie want.

I know this is going to sound like an old head mentality, but please Slay, look more upset. I know he's showing great sportsmanship but dudes look entirely too happy following that ass performance.

As I said to my son last night on the way home listening to Nick and Jalen, "get used to the fact that you’re gonna feel way worse about this game than any of the players will.”

Something's not right here. It should npt be this bad.

you can tighten up in the red zone and hold atlanta to 13 red zone points and same with Green Bay.  problem is teams don’t necessarily need to get to the red zone. They’ve given up tds of 33, 70 and 41 yards in 3 games. I’m guessing the over/under for Saints tds over 25 yards is likely 1.5. Frankly with how the saints offense has been awesome on big play tds and eagles giving up 1.5 per game through 2 games it probably should be at 2.5.

I will remain convinced that this idea that Huff had to be an every down player was a media-driven creation to get clicks.

He didn't need to change! Just be the same player on 40% of snaps! We win the game last night if that's the case.

We didn’t pay him 40% of 50M. He was brought in to be the direct replacement for Reddick.

I'm not sure how to break this to you, but ..... Bryce Huff is only playing 48% of the snaps through 2 weeks.

This. They aren’t paying them what they’re paying him to be a situational pass rusher and they aren’t even playing him a significant portion of the snaps so far. They’re paying him the money they are because their analytics told them that they believe he could take another step in his development to be a starting caliber player. It’s after two weeks but currently it looks like the analytics got it wrong and the jets only smart move this offseason was not paying him.

I have less than zero interest in Hurts staying if his philosophy is to be RB2 instead of QB1.  One of his redeeming qualities in his first two years is he didn't turn the ball over a lot.  Now he does.

Paying $51M per year to a QB who throws for less than 200 yards, turns the ball over, and gets injured every year is not inspiring.

Oh, 100% agreed that he's playing well below the level that is expected of someone with that contract. But if we have a Sophie's Choice scenario between him and Sirianni, especially after watching last night, I'm showing Sirianni the door 10 times out of 10.

I’d try to see if any teams bite on Davis at the deadline. Booker, Ojomo, etc should all be getting his snaps. He is an absolute non-factor. Getting pushed around and not absorbing double teams. Offers nothing in pass rush.

My biggest issue is that they've looked the same through 2 games as they did all last season. Clunky offense, porous defense, stupid penalties. How? With 2 new coordinators, how does this team look exactly the same as last season? There are 2 options: the head coach, or the player leadership.

He's playing on base downs waaaay too much.

They're also sticking him at LDE exclusively, the tougher of the two sides to not only rush the passer but also set the EDGE.

Sometimes you got to tip the cap.  Overall i thought the CB’s played a good game.

They weren't passing a lot either since the run was working so well.

Exactly. I just feel there's no way all these guys are THIS bad at pass rushing on just their own talent/work ethic. There has to be something with Fangio's scheme that's at play here where adjustments could be made to improve the pass rush.

And this is with the mediocre Falcons being one of the opponents. They will be dead last after week 4. I hate to be cynical, but I think this season feels like it's headed for an iceberg very quickly.

Cousins was also 13-16 in the second half. Cousins looked like he was playing on one leg when he had to throw.

Another one I’m losing patience with is Howie. He gets overhyped every year, but where is the defense?? We have Carter, and Q looks like a keeper too. Aside from that, where has he excelled in getting us anyone on defense? We’re getting no pressure from Huff or Smith. Can’t blame the field this time. Baun makes a play on occasion, but no other LBs of note, and what else in the secondary?

Also, this offense should not fall apart from the loss of AJ alone. Coaching is again unimpressive. Terrible decision making from pulling Barkley after he’s running for 9+ yards a pop, to passing up on early points, to not running Barkley on the second to last drive when you’re trying to bleed the clock.

But the Tush Push works again, so all’s well I guess.

You must have missed the memo. We're not allowed to talk bad about Howie

Defensive system seems obsolete and doesn't put the people they have in good situations.

Hurts may still be checking out of things and his vision after his first target is covered still seems bad and he rolls out/makes bad decisions.

Nick is not a coach who should have come back. Hard for things to change when he is a major issue.

The Eagles don't have much invested in Sirianni, so he can go anytime.  Right now, the Eagles look like a 9-8 team who will be pretty good one week and pretty bad the next.  If that's how this season plays out, folks will get their wish and Sirianni will be gone.

Their larger problem right now (IMO) is they have a lot invested in players who aren't doing much of anything.  Davis, Carter, Nolan Smith, Huff and Sweat on the DL.  These guys are counted on to be big contributors with Cox gone and Graham going.  They need to step up.

7 points from the offense again last night in the first half.  That was the beginning of the wheels falling off last season.  Just like SEA last year, they let an inferior team hang around and hang around all game, and it burnt them in the last two minutes.  As bad as the defense was on the last drive, they got off the field with a turnover on downs in 4 plays the previous drive.  They gave the offense the ball at the ATL 39 to salt the game away, and the offense didn't get it done.

Good, let's get on with it then.

Look at the bright side.  Sure, Fangio's defense sucks, but at least he's man enough to get in front of the media and talk about how bad they suck!

One other side note, this offense is crap without AJ...this isn't a slight (no pun intended) on Smith.

Smith would be a number 1 on a lot of teams. You need a QB1 who can disburse the ball to other targets when teams focus on taking WR1 away. Hurts isn't that guy outside of finding Covey for 3-5 yards, which is good to take what is there, but they seem clunky.

Originally had this as a win and I’m still not buying Carr and the Saints being this good but we are in fact that bad right now.

Eagles - 24

Saints - 34

Bonus: Saints have more rushing yards than we have passing yards
