@ManuManu  I just finished that article about injury insurance payouts creating cap space in the following year. Gotta wonder how that might eventually lead to situations where claims are made with injuries that are more borderline in nature. There's already an incentive for teams to "suggest" an injury is more serious than it actually is if they need to create roster space to stash someone. But in a scenario where a highly paid QB is performing poorly and then sustains an injury, I can see a team trying to overstate the severity to try to make an insurance claim in the hopes it gets granted to give them some cap relief in the following year. Obviously the QB could raise a red flag and cry foul, but if he's getting paid either way and may even have a chance to land with a new team, there might not be enough incentive for them to expose the ruse (not unlike many cases of tampering.)

So Jalen Reagor is living in a double wide?

Eagles are allowing A league worst 6.4 yards per carry. Got to try something else maybe give Milton Williams more reps And put Jordan Davis at DE I know it cuts into the rotation, but from there at least he could set an edge going back and watching the game. Smith and Huss was getting abused, and Robinson had free ways to run through. I’d say grab another Tackle for rotation, and try to get pressure from inside.

I think we need to simply play 5 lineman on early downs like we did in 2022. Sweat, Carter, Davis, Williams and BG/Smith/Huff. I'd honestly play Nolan on 1st and possibly 2nd down, and rotate Huff in for pure passing downs. Stop asking Huff to do something he can't. Smith is actually OK against the run and plays with effort.

Passing on 3rd down and kicking the FG were the correct calls.  Going for it in the first half was unnecessary and costly.  Not having the team practice hard is coming back to bite them.  The bigger issue is the defense.

Agree on the play calls. The pass was as high precentage as they come to your best player

but the offense is still the far bigger issue

Man... what is life with no woj bombs?

I wonder who will fill that role?

I think it would’ve been funny if shams broke the woj retirement story

Curious if anyone else is in this same boat.

If this season gets to a point where it's obvious to everyone this year isn't gonna be it. Say they are like 1-4 or 2-5. At that point I'm gonna be rooting for losses. For higher draft pick and to clinch Lurie making wholesale changes that he was afraid to last year.

I still think Sirianni would be gone if they only won like 8 or 9 games, but I think there's an outside chance he'd keep him and blame Hurts or the defense or something.

Tampering is less serious than potential insurance fraud. Where the line would be between stretching a legitimate injury claim and exaggerating a claim to the point of insurance fraud lies is beyond me.

If you pass on 3rd down to try to win it, you have to go for it on 4th down because then you just gave the opponent almost 2 minutes to win it. That's plenty of time for a TD drive and the Falcons would have gone for it on 4th down needing a TD. And the Eagles defense was a turnstile all game.

The defense had held them to a TD and 4 field goals.  They shouldn't have given up the TD.

Would you rather trade for a d lineman or an edge rusher?

An edge, hands down. Whatever it takes to get a guy like Maxx Crosby here, do it.

I'm all for losing once playoffs look out of reach.

Patriots cut Jalen Reagor following social-media post

After taking to social media to vent his apparent frustrations about his spot on the depth chart, Jalen Reagor is packing his bags in Foxborough, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports.

The Patriots announced on Tuesday that they cut Reagor from the practice squad, shortly after the wide receiver posted an interesting photo on his Instagram story.

The photo, which features a Bugatti sports car parked under a dreary carport, was deleted soon after Reagor posted it. The photo has been used before as an internet meme, often to describe a talented player mired on a bad team or organization (Shohei Ohtani on the Angels might be the apt comparison).

It seems as though the Patriots received Reagor’s message loud and clear, with the team cutting him just a few hours after the photo was posted.

How is that dude STILL this delusional? He's got one foot out of the league already.

Agreed, just used it an example of players looking the other way because there's usually no incentive for them to call the team out for it.

True. I wouldn't be surprised if a player might gain unofficial "atta boy" points by playing along.

Or in Tom Brady's case, unofficial "atta boy" payments made by the owner directly to his TB12 company as a means to circumvent the salary cap.

Yup.  Can't play 88% nickel defense when the other teams are running the ball at will.  Shut down the run game first.  Maddox playing nickel doesn't help run defense at all; most NFL RBs will run Maddox over like he's road kill.  Much easier to get a sustained pass rush when you know the offense has to throw the ball.

Slow down the run, then evaluate if you have the proper LBs to do it if it doesn't happen.  I don't think DeJean is fluid enough to be a nickel; he might need to be developed as a safety -- but I'd frankly prefer to evaluate him at nickel than watch Maddox out there.

Surely you're not implying there was skulduggery afoot in Patriots World.:o

Overall this is a very unlikeable team.  Noticed CJGJ flexing after he made a tackle after a 7 or 8 yard gain a couple times.  Sirianni needs to be fired yesterday.  No accountability from anyone, just the same crap we heard last year.  I’m fine with a bad season as long as it results in moving on from the majority of the coaches and a bunch of these loser players.

My experiences with insurance and claims are obviously different than how this type of insurance process works. But knowing the general vibe of insurance companies and if I'm going to assume they are the same in this case, the insurance company here will do everything they can to stall or find reasons not to pay out.

That's who CJGJ is. You take the good with the bad. Got torched on the Mooney TD and then made the biggest play of the game on the Bijan stuff. He's irritating, but has his positives. I haven't been a big Slay guy the past couple of seasons. Mainly because of his social media and how he handled the Deebo/Bradberry deal in the SF game last year having Deebo's back. I don't care if Bradberry is a bum, you stand up for your teammate.

Howie/Lurie will do everything they can to salvage the Hurts situation in order to avoid having back-to-back mega deal QBs flame out. They will choose Hurts over Sirianni if it came down to it 100 times out of 100.

we'll see how this goes but it could get ugly.

I really wanted siri gone after last season. I still do even if eagles beat ATL.
