AJ out for Sunday

Brown being out really shouldn't hurt us that much if they gameplan well. There's still Smith, Barkley, Goedert, etc.

We've been saying all off season that the offense is stacked with talent. They need to show it

Thanks good to see you still hanging around.

I've always gotten the sense that Hurts in private, and in the locker room, is a lot different than press conference Hurts.

We've seen clips from pre-game huddles where he's hyping up his teammates, locker room speeches, sidelines and touchdown celebrations.

I think he's a lot like Andy Reid: give the media nothing. He knows the reporters are looking for material and wanting to stir things up, so he gives them cliches.

I don't care what he says in media, I care what he does on the field (which needs to improve of course).

Don't usually like to make sweeping statements, but I will for Sunday. Sunday we'll get good insight into whether or not this team is a contender or pretender. Contenders bounce back from efforts like MNF. Of course there are exceptions to everything. Teams go through rough patches. But generally, after being embarrassed to that degree, contenders will bounce back. Not saying they have to win, but they can't get blown out or shredded. If they do, that's typically the sign that you suck. That's what you see from bad teams and teams that are broken.

If the Eagles get the doors blown off on Sunday, while of course there's always a chance they could still go on to have a good season, I'll bet my bottom dollar it's likely a sign of things to come and this season is going to suck. If nothing else, if they can't show pride and put forth a good effort, then that's a really bad omen.

I didn't see the Falcons game as an embarrassment at all.  They simply let an inferior team hang around and hang around, and it came back to bite them in crunch time.  The defense isn't getting it done on early downs and it's contributing to the lack of pressure.  The offense didn't create any big plays at all without A.J. Brown and couldn't finish off drives in the red zone.  As a team, they're turning the ball over and creating very few turnovers.  On defense, Fangio needs to adjust quicker.  On offense, Hurts needs to make better decisions and get the ball out quicker.

The Saints have a good (not great), balanced offense.  Fangio needs to scheme to slow down the run and put Carr in some long third downs.  The Saints' first game was a gimme against CAR; I didn't see their game against DAL but something there was a screwy early-season game.  They're not a good enough team to win in DAL like that under most circumstances.  Their defense is usually pretty good and their offense not so much.  It's an anomaly they've scored 91 points in two games.

Without Brown, the Eagles offense needs to be Smith-Barkley-Goedert.  It looked more like Britain Covey was featured for some reason.  The running game needs to be more RB2 and less Hurts trying to keep up with Barkley.

Eagles haven’t won in New Orleans since 2007 but Hurts has never lost to them. Something has to give I guess.

the give will be the defense , giving up massive passing yardage. last week lane looked like this  , pic

Who do you really hate? A bit strong isn’t it ?

No.

Taysom Hill is Questionable.

All other starters are playing

I really love the Eagles. I always have. Always will.

I really hate several of the players and not just because of performance. Just a lot of unlikeable **** bags on the team IMO.

Can’t agree with this more.  That’s why I can’t be that upset with a bad season.  Move on from some of these guys

Well, I wouldn't want them at less than full strength anyway.  Statement game. 🙃

It's a completely idiotic take. Brown played every game in 2022, and every game in 2023 other than the playoff game. So you're basically looking at 2020 and 2021 Hurts vs. 2022 and 2023 Hurts. Shocking news -- young player improves with experience.

Cowherd is a moron, but also somehow the smartest guy on FS1.

Not only that, he included W/L's from 2020 when Hurts was a backup and playing like one snap a game in those dumb wildcat snaps

Let's hope the statement isn't

@mattwill

Saints 38

Birds 16

Defense records no sacks or turnovers and no more than 1 punt before the 4th quarter.

I'm feeling a bit more optimistic that maybe Monday Night was some weird fluke loss. It's not based on anything at all really though. I'll probably be back out before the 1st quarter ends.

Saints seem good but it's a very small sample size. Add in there rushing defense looks good but who knows if it actually is since both games were complete blowouts and other teams abandoned the run.

This virgin has never have a girl in his house and has been making the same crap song for every game and he gets the Colts cheerleaders to help now.

That was cringier than the Padres fans.

Those other teams were also running… *checks notes* Miles Sanders and Ezekiel Elliott.

Yep. The only fear is they make too many explosive plays on offense and then Barkley starts getting ignored to play catch up. I’d run him early and often.

Are people ready to admit Goedert is overrated by the fans like I said three years ago or are we still holding out hope for that big, breakout season?

Yea but that Albert O breakout is coming I can feel it

I agree...but there are a few possibilities after Monday night:

1. Eagles are a very good team that got caught with their pants down and are capable of a great wakeup, rebound, and competition.

2. Eagles are a very talented team, but still have the same lockerroom issues as last year, lack the resolve to respond, and are going nowhere.

3. Eagles are fine in the locker room, attitude is fine.  They just are not a good team, not that close either.  Just can't stop teams.  They don't have the ability to respond.

4. Eagles will be a really good team.  Just aren't ready to play a clean game yet since it's early in the year.  Saints game will be ugly too but they'll be fine.

#4 is really convenient rhetoric for a team that will be 2-10 in 12 games if they drop one to the Saints.  That's top of the draft bad.  It would be a joke to talk about competing.

Otherwise, options 1-3 mean that we WILL see the real face of the Eagles against the Saints on Sunday.

This has a lot to do with the DC and his game plan.  That game plan last week was worse than anything Gannon/Desai/Patricia put together.  They let a statue stand pat with no pressure, very few blitzes, very few five man fronts to stop the run, etc, etc.  You'll find out this weekend whether Fangio can adjust or is even willing to adjust.  That guy was a premier DC.  We'll find out if he still is.  And he can't let guys like Huff play just because Huff is making a lot of money, and he can't let former first round picks play if they are not doing the job.  H has to be his own man.

Still waiting for Hurts to make that Allen leap!

Can you even imagine Josh Allen with these weapons? Guy would win MVP at least twice.

I don't think the offense has used him well but also don't think he's some top 5 TE
