I think this is a bad matchup for us. 34-16 Saints

Give me an unrealistic optimistic take... Eagles 35-29

Bonus:  Defensive score.

I haven't heard that medical science has found a way to boost the processor speed in human brains like you can with computers. Too bad.

My hope is that it can be improved with repetition and experience, though.  The more expertise Hurts gains in Moore’s offense can perhaps make some of these reads second nature, where they’re executed without thought.  That’s the argument people make about Hurts having to learn a different offense every couple of years.  That’s why I want Hurts to rely less on his athleticism and more on his mastery of the offensive scheme, and to get the ball out as scripted whenever possible.  There will be times during every game where he will be well served using his legs to convert first downs and extend drives — I just don’t see 10-12+ QB runs every game as beneficial.

This is why I say when you have an offensive head coach, it’s his responsibility to learn Moore’s offense just as well as Hurts does.  People voiced a concern if the Eagles offense becomes elite, Moore will be hired away as a head coach just as Steichen was.  That doesn’t need to be a problem if the knowledge of the scheme is retained through the head coach.

Saints 36

Eagles 19

Hurts a fumble and an interception

@mattwill

Foolishly optimistic.

Eagles 31, Saints 27

Bonus pick: Hurts with zero turnovers.

Only thing the Eagles have going for them is that Huets is undefeated against the Saints.

I would have zero issues if they spent a high pick on a TE. He is an UFA in 2026 so have two drafts to find one.

I would not be happy with this. We don't spread the ball around enough as it is

If Hurts keeps playing like he has been for the past 20 games they will have a new QB in 2026.

@mattwill

Saints- 34

Eagles- 24

Dallas Goedert 300 yards receiving

@mattwill

saints 41

Eagle 24

Hurts 2 turnovers

@mattwill 27-19 The defense looks better, but the offense doesn’t. Hurts has less than 200 yards passing and at least one turnover.

Eagles 38

Saints 25

Jalen Hurts 4+ total TDs

If you look at his win rate vs. man, he's actually a starting caliber WR. Those man/zone splits either mean he doesn't understand the playbook or he's just there to open up space for other guys. Probably both.

We need one of those games that happens too frequently against the Birds. One where some mid-level WR gets hot, the QB focuses on him and they shred our D. Come out of the closet, Dotson.

We’re gonna be 12 personnel heavy tomorrow, everyone’s favorite.

Goedert has not been overrated.  But I do suspect he’s entering the portion of his career arc where he’s not going to bring much as a receiver, even if the offense wasn’t stacked with weapons in front of him.

Give him a QB who will actually throw to the middle of field and he's golden

Will dodge a mini-bullet

Graham also got fined the same amount as CJ for his face mask penalty

Goedert would probably thrive as a receiving TE in an offense that passed 60% of the time or more. This offense is built around Hurts and his strengths as well as his teammates strengths. Goedert is a lot like Brent Celek in that he can be whatever kind of TE you need him to be. He's a good blocker as well as a good receiver. He gets asked to do more blocking on average than most TE1s around the NFL since we have two WRs that are very good at getting open and run around 50% of the time.

So that argument has some merit even if you don't agree with it. In this offense, Goedert simply isn't targeted as much as he might be on other teams that believe in "pass first."

So…running more and passing less.

If Week 2 defense shows up, they've brought a knife to a gun fight.

Why did Ray Ray get smaller fine when he's the one that threw the punch?   The NFL makes ZERO sense.
