I hope you guys are right. Q and Slay outside, Maddox in the slot, and CJGJ and Reed at safety would work nicely.

I hope so too. Moving a rookie from outside to inside every other play might be too much to ask of him in his very first NFL game.

Packers- 31

- If Jalyx Hunt dresses, he gets 2 sacks.

- DeVonta and AJ both get 100 yards.

- Hurts throws 2 INTs but 300+ yards

- Ringo, pick 6

Rodgers was also the starting KR on the unofficial depth chart. Maybe they give that to the next man up who would be Gainwell, maybe they give it to DeJean if he's active?

With Rodgers out, I think DeJean is definitely active. Don’t there need to be 2 returners with these new rules?

Good point, yeah that pretty much would make him a lock then I would think.

I guess you can have up to 2 returners in the landing zone, but you can also roll with one.

These new rules are so dumb.

Seems like you'd defintely want two for anything that lands short and a bit off-center. Who else was even lined up as KR in the preseason games? Covey wasn't back there for any of them, right?

I have no idea about like 75% of these kickoff rules and I'm not bothering to learn them. They will remain what the kickoffs have been for awhile. Piss/food/beer break.

OK, which one of you is this?

Yea, I think one of the rules is something about rolling into the endzone without being returned is the most advantageous for the kicking team or something stupid. Seems like it would be possible if there was just 1 guy back there covering all that ground.

What’s the over/under for starting QBs sustaining a season ending/long term injury before the trade deadline?

Last year was rough for QBs.

I’m going to say 2.

Seems like a guy who wears that helmet the other 6 days of the week too.

Shipley did some KR the first game. Campbell had a return too. Everyone else who did it isn't on the roster anymore.

That's a touchback at the 20, which is why you want to field anything in the catch zone if you don't think it's going to bounce out of bounds. Buf what if it's looking like it's going to land at the 15 and not make it to the end zone? Would be a live ball just like under the old rules from what I assume but I could be wrong there. I would think you'd want a second guy there spaced laterally to field those to reduce the risk of the returner having to field a ball off the ground and then scramble to try to get a few yards so that your offense isn't pinned deep. Though the more I think about it, maybe they have a returner positioned at the 5 or even the 10 and then have him back track for anything over his head. That way he's still in range of anything that would land in the short end of the catch zone. Not sure how they handle fair catches though. Way too complicated for little to no benefit. Dumb rule.

Pretty sure that it is required that teams have two players lined up in the stupid landing zone.

Unfortunately I think that if everyone just kicks touchbacks year, the league will be too pigheaded to go back to the old rules but will instead mandate that touchbacks come back to the 35 next year.

If you just go in the sink you don't even have to stop at the bathroom.
