I agree. That's why I said supposed. Perhaps deliberately setting up the long run. Or, perhaps, as you say, a bad read.

I did look at this and I think the main reason the play fails is that the safety comes crashing down.  Dotson also didn't make a great block. So maybe seeing that led them to the Barkley call.

Pretty weird AJ Brown missing 3 straight weeks with a "tight hamstring." Rub some CBD oil on it and let's go baby.

Morning news said that storm surge along the coast near Tallahassee could be as much as 15-20 feet!!!!  (That's where the hurricane is expected to make land fall.).  Tampa will be on the "Dirty Side" of the storm, so it should still be rather significant there, but the best news is that by the time the Hurricane reaches max power, just before hitting land, Tampa will no longer be on the leading edge of the storm.  And Tampa appears to be on the line between where the intensity shifts from Hurricane to Tropical Storm.   That's the good news.   The bad news is that its on the wrong side of the storm for the vast majority of the storm passing, and as a result will deal with the "Tropical Storm" strength for a very long time.

This should be an interesting game if they don't change the time.   Sunday at 1 won't give much time to clean up or for the field to really dry out.   I wonder how well the field will be able to drain where everything around the field will be a soggy mess too.

I think if there's going to be a weather related problem Sunday, a soggy field is it. Right now the wind down there isn't that bad, 24 gusting 38. They're in the northeast corner of the storm now which is normally the worst weather. It looks like Tampa will get the eastern edge of the storm according to radar. I'm glad I'm not in and don't own property in the Florida panhandle though.

Bucs 20, Eagles 16

Without AJ Brown and Smith I think the Eagles offense sputters again.  I don’t trust Hurts to lean on Goedert two weeks in a row.

Bonus — Hurts 2+ picks, Eagles D has 3+ sacks

They just wanted to get Devonta more targets.

NFL is serious about safety 🤡

A bit reductive because he's had some plays called back by penalty, he's been put in motion a lot by Moore, and of plays like this:

Bottom line though with  Smith and Brown out and 3 games under his belt in the system THIS is where we see if that trade was smart. And a HUGE game for Dotson if he wants to show the league he's a guy worth paying in the future. I hope he brings it.

Hurts doesn't even know he's out there.

No Brown, Lane or Smith.

Facing a team Hurts has routinely struggled with.

Bonus: Squirts turns it over another two times

I give Jalen crap but he did a good job here

Crazy thing is if he goes Dotson's way, he probably scores.

True, but all things being equal I'd rather he pass it to the reliable hands guy with 100+ yards on the day with a clear shot at big yardage than the dude they traded for 3 weeks ago with 14 total yards on the year even if he had a path to a TD there.

Good problem to have though.

Team is very banged up.  Don’t see how they can win this week

A bit off topic, but does anyone have any tips on people to follow on BlueSky for Eagles news?  Trying to migrate over from Twitter so I'm not getting blasted with tabloid news whenever I try to look up beat writer/NFL news.  Not sure which writers are over there and which aren't yet.

I get what you're saying if you mean to ride the hot hand.  But in fairness to Dotson,  his hands are better than Goederts.

Maybe, but Hurts had to see that to believe it. Like I said this is a huge opportunity for Dotson. I'm naively optimistic. I liked him coming out.

Bucky Irving may not play on Sunday. Hurt his hamstring yesterday. He's been their best RB as Rashaad white has been disappointing. We might be able to get away with 4 man fronts.

Their injury list is a mile long. Eagles have injuries too but they don't have an excuse to lose this game. With that being said:

Eagles 24

Bucs 16

Saquon- 200 yards, 3 TDs

Huff- 3 sacks

I'm an hour and a half below Tampa and it hasn't even rained today, just wind gusts.

Could it be more serious and they aren't saying?

You weren't able to find the same people on bluesky?

A lot of the good ones yeah. But always looking for more good follows. Train the algorithm a bit.

It's nice to be able to use the "suggested for you" option again.

This is the fourth down sack. It looks to be like it's on Johnson and Dickerson.

Fourth and about 10,so he can't dump it.

Johnson can't ride his man around the pocket and Dickeson's man gets away with hands to the face to close in.

My choice of the mistake is Dotson and/or Goedert. Too close together. Hurts has nowhere to go with the ball.

I believe that was a 4th and 4 situation, iirc.   LOS seems to be the 35, and the first down marker appears to be at the 31.5 yard line.

But, here's a question... why not kick the FG here, especially if you are going to try a 60 yarder later?  I believe it was still 3-0 at this point, so getting 3 points makes this a tie game.  On second thought... was this the play on the end of the drive at the start of the 2nd half?    :nonono:. Still a stupid decision, regardless of the outcome.  They needed points and to get on the score board.  By this point, the defense had shown it was able to ball out, so the offense just needed to do its job and get on the board.   I'm still upset with Sirianni's decision making in this game.  Boneheaded decision after boneheaded decision.
