He can’t run out of shotgun. Their offensive line didn’t help them tonight, but he’s very one dimensional. Justice Hill got a lot of snaps tonight. Unless if you line up under center and really commit to running with him there, he’s not going to have a huge impact this year outside of short yardage and goalline. I hope Keaton Mitchell gets healthy for them because he’s electric. 

Henry was that slow last season but no one noticed because it was the Titans.

Again, it's all about how you played and are playing. Just because you know absolutely nothing about Rodgers before the Eagles signed him, does not mean he wasn't a good player. It's okay to admit he hadn't caught your eye. Most of us don't have time to follow other teams like we do the Eagles. But claiming Rodgers wasn't very good in 2022 just demonstrates ignorance. If you wanted to argue that 1000 defensive snaps and only 10 starts over his last two seasons is too small a sample for you to form an opinion, I would respect that a lot more than just claiming he wasn't very good because you don't watch colts games and never heard of him until the Eagles claimed him.

Week #1 is always the hardest week to have a feel for heading into it and by far.  Plus, it has just gotten harder nowadays with so many of the starters not getting time in the preseason games.  Adding to that we have the aspect of playing an international game which always adds uncertainty.

Finally, we have two new coordinators.  I suspect that we end up being very rusty and not ready for the game but that we see some real bright spots as things progress.  Hopefully Green Bay is also a bit off and we can somehow come out on top.

(The game is tonight,  this is an the international start time but I like the poster)

 

WEEK 1 IS HERE AND THE BIRDS ARE BACK FOR BATTLE IN BRAZIL.   They are 3-0 during the Hurts/Sirianni Era in Openers.  They are also 1-0 in International Games (London).  Packers and J Love are a good team but they are still young and growing.  I expect some offensive fireworks in Brazil.  The Birds put on a show and keep the streak going.

I think Ringo outside is a better option than Maddox in the slot. Gets a bigger body on the field and is more in line with what they have practiced in camp.

Maddox/blankenship + CGJG safeties?

Think that in base defense it's Mitchell and Slay outside, nickel Mitchell shifts inside with Ringo and Slay outside and dime would be Ringo and Slay outside with Mitchell and some combination of CJGJ, Maddox and Dejean?  Maybe the best way to approach this is:

4 top DB's - Mitchell, Slay, CJGJ and Blankenship

5 top DB's - Mitchell, Slay, CJGJ, Blankenship and Ringo

6 top DB's - Mitchell, Slay, CJGJ, Blankenship, Ringo and Maddox (Maybe Cooper)

After the end of last season....not sure what to think about this game.  My hopes are with the new coordinators (adults in the room), we should be much better.  My fear is that with the new coordinators, even if better, may not be better right out of the gate.
