I wouldn't be dying on a hill. He was a legit NFL starter in his last 9 games and was playing near the highest level for his position during that span. Somehow, you equate that with not being very good. 

 

He wasn't void of question marks when we claimed him since he was suspended without a return date and missed an entire season without being able to work with a team. But most of the questions were answered in OTAs and camp as he not only beat out last year's starter, but he beat out the front-runner to eventually replace a starter as well as our first two draft selections this year.

I think they played that game differently than other games moving forward. Lamar wanted revenge because he carried it 16 times and is zero chance that is sustainable. 

Our defense should be ahead of GB, Fangio is new but he's basically running the same defense as last year, but better.

GB has a new DC with a new scheme.

From what I can glean from GB websites and a cursory look at pre-season games, they run a 4-2-4-1. That is: four DL, two LBs, quarters, single high. Their stud DL is Rashan Gary. The CBs look good but safety is a problem. Lotta zone. Saquon should get a lot of mismatches, especially when we go in 11 personnel. If he can gash them a few times early we should score a lot of points. I'm beginning to feel more sanguine about this game.😃

Why is safety a problem? They signed Xavier McKinney in FA. Javon Bullard is more on an unknown but he’s a second round pick out of Georgia.
