Hindsight. We could’ve had Jefferson too but we took raegor instead 🙄

It's not hindsight when it's a player people wanted to draft at the time though. I didn't mind taking Davis, I didn't like trading 3 picks to move 2 spots for him.

Who do you think wins those divisions out of curiosity? With our defense, I'm struggling to see us on top atm. Falcons offense is firing on all cylinders with cousins now...vikings I kinda get lol

Eagles, Lions, Bucs.

There’s players we all want all the time that we don’t draft. I’m sure there were a couple who were busts that you probably wanted to. To be quite frank, who knows how Hamilton would’ve panned out here considering our inability to develop talent in the secondary for quite some time. It seems to be changing but who knows

Lions i see if gb keeps waiting til the second half to play. Bucs and falcons will battle it out. I don't see us taking the division without the help of injuries atm

To try and be different, let me present some reasons for optimism coming out of the bye. Let's chalk this up to me still riding high after that Phillies walkoff. Or maybe just being high in general...

1. Getting AJ, DeVonta and Lane back. Honestly, if you had told me we would have missed AJ for 3 games, Lane for over 1.5 games and DeVonta for 1.25 games in the 1st 4, I'd have said 2-2 was the ceiling. I know it feels like forever ago, but the offense really clicked week 1 other than the turnovers (I get that's like asking how Mary Todd Lincoln liked Our American Cousin other than the ending). But week 1, we put up 410 yards, 25 1st downs, and 34 points. Week 2 we still put up 365 yards and 22 first downs without AJ, and 460 yards and 20 first downs week 3 without AJ and Lane/Smith for a chunk of the game. So, red zone efficiency and turnovers have been the issue, not moving the ball when we aren't injury ravaged.

2. Red Zone should improve with AJ and hopefully better play calling. Here's a weird thought -- give the ball to Saquon in the red zone. Just try it out. Historically, we've been a good red zone team, and hopefully they can get back to that. Part of the red zone failures have been Nick's seemingly haphazard 4th down decision making. Hopefully it can't get worse.

3. Hurts has to stop turning it over this much, right? I still can't reconcile the guy from 2022 to the guy we see now. This is the one that I feel the least confident in -- maybe this is who Jalen is now. But hopefully he can be coached into taking better care of the ball.

4. Cooper DeJean takes over for Maddox. Maddox has just been terrible at nickel. DeJean may be a rookie, but at least he'll bring effort and size to help against the run.

5. Fangio's defense improved dramatically in Miami last year. Per Anthony DiBona on Twitter, Miami allowed 29.7 PPG and 382.5 yards per game in the 1st 4 games of last year. For the last 13 games, it became 20.9 and 301. We are allowing 24.0 and 365.8. Hopefully things show similar improvement.

6. The NFC Sucks. Seriously, the conference is terrible and there is parity all around. I don't buy Sam Darnold becoming Dan Marino, and the Commanders really haven't played anyone. The scariest team is the Lions. And they're...the Lions.

7. The schedule. Cleveland, NYG, Cincy, Jacksonville. You have to win 3 of those. Then a tough 4 game stretch at Dallas, short week at home against Washington, at Rams, at Ravens. But the closing 5 games aren't bad at all, with the last 3 all division games (last 2 at home).

Honestly if that's who he is now then I think they do need to move on when it becomes possible

Very courageous of AJ to suit up this week.

A team that needs a QB, is cheap and will likely have additional 2025 picks....

Not until after 2026, realistically. His full 2026 comp guarantees on the 3rd day of the league year in 2025 (over $20mm already guaranteed). Assuming you can't trade him and shift the 2026 guarantees to another team, he's here for 2 more years.

Who needs Hamilton when we have Brian Chalkins?

The reigning dive forward for an interception champ!

Leave Talcum Jenkins alone damn it!

@mattwill

Eagles 31

Browns 13

Bonus: No turnovers for QB1

I doubt we'd get a team to trade for him. Though we did get someone to trade for Wentz so I guess anything is still possible

Still have the best roster and have one of the 5 easiest schedules DVOA in the NFL the rest of the season. They are still favored and should be. Doesn't mean they will win it, but the Commanders and Cowboys are not better teams. If the Eagles lose this division, make no mistake, it was a pretty sizeable failure and underachievement.

Its purely due to our defense at this point and turnovers. This scheme is figured out

You think we wanna give washington any love? Young man took a dead franchise and gave them an offense. Hoping somebody figures it out, but right now it looks like he took Lamar's game and said, oh and I throw it all over the yard....looks like folding him like a yard furniture is how to slow him down ... and that's it

Ok fine but it's only been a few games.

I know alot of people like to crown someone quickly but I'd like to see these young players play at a high level for multiple years before I say they've arrived.

We've seen too many examples of QBs play well and then fall off.

I can respect it. Kid is definitely best rookie we've seen in awhile

I still wonder what damage the hit from Clowney caused.  He carried a toothless WR corps to 4000 passing yards in 2019.  Then got smashed in the brain box by Clowney.  And 2020 was a disaster.  That seemed to be the final nail.

Honestly i think it was somewhere in between.  He was never the same after that hit though.

I can see hurts in LV. Reunited with minshew for the lols

Curious who the two cuts would be. Realistic options I'd say would be Nick Gates, Tristin McCollum, Devin White and Byron Young. I get they are thin at WR but bringing back Smith who never looked that good anyway is kind of an odd decision. They would be better off signing Parris Campbell to the 53 instead of him.

I think better tbh at this point. We will see as the season progresses, but wouldn't be shocked if washington is averaging more points and he has a higher completion percentage.

I get it, washington. Be a football fan instead of an eagle fan for a second and he is fun to watch
