Just read something that said the Eagles have yet to score in the 1st quarter this season - 0 points in the 1st quarter through 4 games.  Wow.

That happens when the HC eschews FG opportunities early in games because he's trying to prove that he's doing something to help the team... meanwhile, it actually undermines the team's success.  He's stupidly aggressive.

I really think Reddick has a screw loose which is one of the reasons the Eagles dumped him.

Yeah doesn’t make sense.   $14.25 million is nothing to scoff at.  He’s going to lose all of that plus lose even more because of fines, etc

It just really depends on if it works or not.

This doesn't include FGs but shows Touchdown scoring and which quarter. No 1st quarter TDs.

Now look at the defense, other than the Tampa game, did not give up a TD in the 1st quarter. The defense does it's job early, but the offense doesn't. If the offense would score early, it would put them in better position on defense as well.

Also interesting to look at points by player. Clearly, they need to feed Barkley.

Reddick might have lost his mind. Pulled an Antonio Brown.

They need to feed Barkley, Brown and Elliott!

I get going for it on 4th and less than a yard, even in the first quarter.  BUT, Nick has been going for it on 4th and 4 in the first quarter, and in scoreless games.   That's just criminally stupid for a HC.   Step 1 for any team... get the lead.  Then worry about the rest of it.  But, while 7-0 is better than 3-0, 3-0 is infinitely better than 0-0.  Any points starts to put some pressure on the opposition offense.  But, 4th and 4 from roughly the 20 yard line... which doesn't even bury the opposition deep near their own end zone is just reckless decision making by the HC.  Get points, give the defense a lead to actually defend, and give the offense something positive to come away with after a productive drive to boost confidence for the next one.

Brown coming off the iR really does nothing for me, not seeing him as some kind of savior by any stretch. Interested to see what he can do but he is pretty much a depth type player. Nothing special by any means. Vic better get things straightened out in a hurry but these are Howie players and he just doesn't know how to build defense. He needed better evaluation from his personnel dept but again, those are his guys. All blame eventually comes back to him and then Jeff, who could have simply said, we a need more or better talent evaluators in here.

Avoid him next week. Double-team Lawrence on every single snap. Run at Burns.

@mattwill

A desperate Browns team runs into an unprepared Eagles squad.

Fangio's bent and broken D gives up over 5 ypc to Ford. Watson dinks and dunks up and down the field at will. Another slow start dooms Philly.

Browns 26

Eagles 24

Bonus: Mitchell first career INT

*The wheels on the short bus finally fall off.

Saw something during my morning reading that made zero sense…the Eagles OL has the second worst pressures allowed rate in the NFL?  At 45%?  OL to me has looked pretty darn good.  Obviously a few mistakes, but overall good.  Is that Hurts holding the ball too long or running into pressure?  @just relax your thoughts?

Took his jersey off and walked off during a game?

The season isn’t completely lost yet, you can’t feed Barkley this early if they want to figure it out.  Hurts needs to be handed the ball and asked to do his job distributing the ball through the air.  I know it’s easy to say pound the rock, but it’s lipstick on a pig.  Eeking out some close wins and running Barkley into the ground isn’t the way.

Need to get Shipley into the mix.  I know they’ll use Gainwell first, but I think Shipley is the better change-of-pace RB

I do think the Birds win tomorrow, but I see it being more of a struggle than it should be. Something like a 24-21 final. No sense in tagging Matt until we know his status or someone else takes over though.

After week 1 the O went basic and there has been no creative utilization of their playmakers IMO.  Getting all the RB’s involved would be nice.

Looks like Bama is doing their best to let another unranked team beat them.

Welp. Scratch that I guess

@mattwill

Eagles 27

Browns 16

Eagles finally score a 1st quarter touchdown.

We should win handedly but what actually happens is usually very different

Insane Bama/SC game going on right now!
