I bet TB12 is jealous of QB1.

Speaking of QB1, did any of you ever play QB1 back before anything was streamed? At first you had to play it in bars or restaurants that subscribed to buzztime, but later you could just play it online, but the latter was never fair because of speed of streams, feeds, and lag. It was a pretty fun game, though in its day and made boring games more interesting to watch.

If you look at their recent draft picks (last 2 drafts), and then look at how many of those players that are still on their team, it is very easy to see that the new regime just wanted to completely clean house…really completely clean house.  It’s sort of like the ripping the Band-Aid off type of approach (which can be good sometimes).

But if this is the case, then a couple mistakes will be made.  If you just throw a blanket over a dozen players and say ‘we don’t want them because we didn’t pick them’, then you are bound to let two or three of those guys go that could’ve really helped you.

Here’s to hoping Dotson is one of those…

@mattwill, taking game predictions as well?

Yes

Weird guess I missed it yesterday, wish the Eagles would have signed him. Though Washington probably was more attractive in that he might start there.

I think it was time for AR to move on, for his sanity.

For his family but it turned out that Philly wasn’t the issue given his other son’s issue in KC. That said, I suspect his and probably more so, his wife’s, mental health benefitted from severing ties with the place where they lost a child.  It is endearing from a fan perspective that despite the job severance that AR still has such a positive relationship with Jeff and Howie.  Suggests what we all suspect is true, they are good people and the Eagles is the type of organization that people want to work for.  The latest Athletic agent survey is out and suggests as much while also celebrating the Chiefs organization.  Meanwhile they trashed the cowpads. BTW, they were positive towards Peters and the commies.

That Gaudreau story wrecked me today. Total nightmare and I can’t imagine what their family is going through.

Words will never threaten the public good (which is a subjective and therefore meaningless term). Only actions can. Whole point of free speech

So we can say anything at any time without consequence? I guess slander and libel and fraud are illusions. I understand your point of view, I do. I just don’t share it.

Here's the kicker. Apparently there will be no tweeting from the game. So, I don't have Peacock and no twitter. About to be a very quiet week 1.

Completely forgot this is on Peacock, damn. Going to have to free trial or something.

Peacock discontinued the free trial but I think it’s $8/month. Order it, cancel it after, and it’s still cheaper than going to a bar and getting drinks/food to watch.

It's on local television, y'know.

No, this game is primarily on Peacock, unless I've been misinformed?

The NFL has a rule where local games are always on local stations. So in Philly it’ll be on nbc 10. And I also believe it’ll be on NFL network. At least my YouTube TV DVR has it set to record the game on NBC10 and NFL network.

It's on Peacock all across the country. BUT the fans in Wisconsin and the Philadelphia area ALSO get it on local television. It's going to be on channel 10 here.

Gotcha, OK. I wonder what "local" is. I don't have NBC10 here near Harrisburg but I do get everything Philly when it comes to sports.

These two guys have to make up their minds.

The real question is how we limit hate and falsehoods and threats. And who does the limiting. Otherwise it all becomes the dark web.

Do people honestly think they can regulate hate? I hate slow drivers. Try to keep me from spreading that hate. "Falsehoods" are mostly just opinions. Not everybody believes the same thing. People claim Dean is "injury prone" or "can't stay healthy" even though last season was the only time as a football player he missed practice or games with injuries. People claim Watkins "dropped that pass in the Super Bowl" yet that was statistically a PD and a PD is never a receiver "drop." In reality it was an uncalled DPI, but since it wasn't called, it is statistically a PD, but no presentation of this fact is going to stop Watkins haters from believing that was a drop.

As far as libel and threats, there are already laws in place. It is my opinion we don't need more regulations on the matter.

This time next week we'll be pulling our hair out. Can't wait!

Chargers released Isaiah Spiller. I'd sign him the PS in a heartbeat.

Except he owns the building. The libertarian in me says we should all do or say whatever we want but the louder voice in my ear is that we will then descend into chaos. X or whatever, is a public forum, not just a private conversation in my home entity. Words have consequences and if they threaten the public good, it’s a problem. The real question is how we limit hate and falsehoods and threats. And who does the limiting. Otherwise it all becomes the dark web.

I think they take the anything goes approach too far, but hate is subjective. I think harassment and doxxing should be banned. Anything against the law like threats. I see people on there all they do is reply to people with racial epithets. If I ran it those people would be banned. But I can also understand the "anything goes unless it breaks the law” approach as well because once you say ok we will ban hate speech, then bad faith actors will try to lump a bunch of things under the hate category that aren’t hate. I remember years ago social media platforms mass suspended users for replying to posts with "learn to code” and said that was hate speech. Which under no sane universe does that constitute hate, but you have activists and vocal minorities trying to categorize anything that offends them as hate. And if you start suspending users for hate, some worry eventually hate will be expanded to many many things and I can’t tell those people they’re wrong for being concerned about that.
