Still living in the past? Go back to the 2022 season and bump some of your chicken little posts from that season. Remember how we were only really dominant in the 2nd quarter and then were lucky to milk that lead to survive the second half?

We beat a division rival on the road by 25 points. Did we do that last year?

Nope, but we manhandled the Bucs earlier in the year and they were a good team. Ultimately meant nothing and they embarrassed us later on.

Whoops!

I'm guessing Barkley wasn't his first read

Watch it about 3 more times and look where his eyes are when the ball is snapped…that’s not not reading the field.  That’s not reading the before the snap.  @Iggles_Phan @we_gotta_believe were right.

Purdy had mason wide open out of the backfield on 2nd down.

you love to see it though

They are a MASH unit, so it makes sense.

Evaluating the game today strictly from a Hurts perspective it was the definition of a mixed bag.

The Good:

Easy win on the road over a division rival, no turnovers, high accuracy when he did put the ball in the air, further established his value in short yardage

The Bad:

Basic strategy tells you when you’re playing against the team leading the league in sacks and without your LT — get the ball out.  Hurts didn’t/couldn’t do it.  The punishment he took today didn’t injure him today, but it may lead to cumulative injury this season — especially if his history is an indication.  No points in the first quarter again today, and again the offense did not get on track until Barkley galloped more than half the field.

This was an easy victory dictated, IMO, more by the ineptitude of the opponent than a dominant performance by the Eagles.  Hurts was a game manager today, not a leading force.

My issue with Hurts today (and other days) is that he completely misses on wide open receivers/TE's running short/intermediate routes.  It's weird because sometimes it's as though he's looking right at them but, because he's indecisive, he waits too long and then starts running around like a maniac.  He makes life harder on himself.  There's so many times where he has enough time in the pocket to make a ham sandwich, watch a Netflix movie AND play a quick game of Madden but still can't make a decision.  It's maddening.  I suppose we should all be happy be didn't turn the ball over today but, honestly, whenever we are in obvious passing downs, I'm bracing myself for a strip sack or a pick because he can be so careless with the football.  I guess it is what it is at this point.

Please do go back to 2022 and dig into quarterly scoring stats.

This year the opposite could be true. But it's too early to make it a fact.

Correct. Anything can happen, but there are still a lot of issues with one specific player that needs correcting.

I am glad he hasn't turned the ball over for two weeks. It will be infinitely easier to do if we continue to take the ball out of his hands, as we did today, moving forward.

Even though the Eagles won handedly today, it’s so frustrating watching other games.  This offense is so stagnant and boring. Thank you Saquon for carrying this team.

I love when people question fandom if you criticize something

If he can play mistake free football and they limit him to 25 throws max while leaning heavy on the run game that can be a winning formula.

If he has to throw 30-40 times a game or more then we're probably in trouble.

Don't know how possible it is but I wouldn't mind trading for a pretty good RB to pair with Barkley.

I'd call Baltimore.  They have a guy that's kind of ok.

That's his biggest problem.  He takes too long to process things and too long to make decisions with the ball.

His head was turned to that side of the field. Whoever was his read, he stared at far too long. It shouldnt have taken long to look Barkley's way. Heck, he should have seen it with peripheral vision.

Might be a dream and he just came back from injury but I was thinking maybe Nick Chubb if Cleveland is thinking of selling.

136 total yards from a RB is a nice day.   136 total yards by a QB isn't something to brag about.

It may not be something to brag about, but neither should it be something to criticize when the way game played out didn’t warrant it to be anything more than that.

I was unhappy with Hurts’ performance early this year too… But some just want to keep piling on even after two wins with no turnovers by him in the last two games.

I just want his TD/turnover ratio to continue to be where it’s been these last couple games.  If that happens, the Eagles win a lot of games.

It might be a crazy thing to suggest... but Miles Sanders would be one that I'd call about.   Let him back up Barkley again like he did at PSU.

The criticism is not of him, but of those who are hailing today's performance as something to herald.  There's a difference, but not many seem to be able to see the nuance there.   Hurts played like you would want a game manager type QB to play.  Trent Dilfer, Brock Purdy, Rex Grossman...  If he can be carried by all the guys around him, and he doesn't screw it up with bad turnovers, then that can be a winning formula.   BUT, the coaches would have to lean in to that style of offense and he'd have to embrace it and not try to play hero ball.

Just looked at the box score.

Didn't realize the Eagles were 1-13 on 3rd down.  Jeez.  It did seem like it was 3rd and long quite a bit.

3-3 in the redzone is a nice improvement tho.

Why bother? Hurst could go 30/30, 500 yds, 7 TDs and he would be labeled a showboat and ball hog by some.

No…he couldn’t.

Yup the reactions on here are not surprisingly idiotic

Hurts goes 10-14 tosses a td no turnovers while the running game goes for over 200 and a win and  Hurts haters on here are calling hurts a problem.🤷‍♂️

Dude passed the ball 14 times missed 3 of them exactly what was so horrible about those 3 incompletions that one would feel the need to complain about hurts?

It wasn’t the incompletions. It’s the same thing it’s always been, the guy can’t read a defense, and doesn’t see wide open players 5-10 yds in front of him.

Sanders shouldn't cost hardly anything and I'm sure he'd be hyped to come back.

I don't think he ever wanted to leave in the first place.

Youve already softened up based on the statline. He wasnt even a good game manager today. Aside from his on field benching today, the other reason his passing attempts were so low was because of the sacks he took while running around like an idiot and not throwing it to wide open players. He still needs to elevate his game to be a good enough game manager to beat good teams. The offense cant be quite so one dimensional.

Im definitely criticizing Hurts, as were many during the game. Rightfully so. And we can also criticize the people who hailed and heralded his performance.

They converted 3-3 in the red zone by running the ball.

Or people want the 255M face of the franchise to play better than average? Especially considering the talent he has to work with

Some people set the bar so low
