Watch it about 3 more times and look where his eyes are when the ball is snapped…that’s not not reading the field.  That’s not reading the before the snap.  @Iggles_Phan @we_gotta_believe were right.

I was agreeing with you that Barks got into his release too quick but I haven't gone back to watch it again. Either way, Hurts had his share of misses today.

The Eagles are an enjoy the ride team now.  Today was a great win if you just get on that boat.

They aren’t SB caliber.  They aren’t winning a SB.  They aren’t going to the SB.  It’ll take significant luck for a deep run.

But they have a lot of stars and just had their first truly fun win in about a year and a half.  So if you just enjoy the ride, it’s not so bad.  Just accept the ride isn’t ending with a parade or anything close to it.  The upside is a division title and a playoff win.

I suspect you would have said the same thing about the 2011 Giants. Teams can — and sometimes do — start to gel in December and January. We have enough talent to be that team.

I blame Hurts.

But, theres a reason I was just fine with WR3 by committee when it was just gonna be guys like Covey, Campbell, and Wilson. I knew that there werent going to be targets for WR3.

So I guess if I knew that, you can argue the GM should have recognized the QB problem, and knew that too.

AND then again, I cant blame him for putting as many weapons as possible around Hurts. If he Hurts fails, you leave him no excuses. GMs job is to improve the team so he did that.

Here’s the thing that puzzles me a bit…Donovan Mcnabb was a 1 read qb.  (Sorry everyone, he was).

But when he was the QB, the Eagles were famous for spreading the ball around.  WR3s, TE2s…they got steady targets.  That’s because AR diversified the target and that first read….even when we finally got some top heavy marquee weapons.

I’m all for feeding AJ and Devonta, but you also make it a bit easier on them by establishing the pretense of a threat with WR3.  Especially considering that WR1+2 do their best work along the sidelines.

I don’t know if the coaches refuse to dial other numbers, if Hurts is overruling them, or if Hurts simply isn’t comfortable consistently making the other throws.

100%.  But there is a 2011 Giants once every 20-30 years.

If you are banking on a once in 30 year lightning strike into the bottle of your team to get them incendiary enough to win it all, then it’s definitely best to be in "enjoy the ride mode.”

Nope…should I clear my browser cache after I watch it?

Its a really good breakdown of some of the staple formations and route combos the eagles like to run. A lot of 2x2 stuff what Warner isnt a big fan of, but admits everyone has it in their playbook. The eagles just run a lot of it.

He notes throughout the video that other WRs on the field are running routes in to the middle of the field, but Hurts continues to throw the curls and come backs to the guys on the outside.

He also notes how hurts is often checking to the same exact play over and over again with the same route combination.

Kurt doesnt Monday morning QB it, but you can often see big missed opportunities with other receiving options being wide open but not getting the ball.

The video is titled something that indicates the offense is limited by Hurts. That is Kurt Warner's assessment.

Its a good video.

Uncomfortable stat:

Olamide Zacheus: 15 rec 151 yards with Commanders

Jahan Dotson: 6 rec 35 yards with us

And they have our 3rd round pick.

Through 5 games we had 11 total sacks. Today we added 8 more.

The Dotson trade hasn't gone the way fans had hoped thus far, but he could become a factor later in the season. I'll be honest, my expectations weren't that high when I first heard about the trade, simply because we have yet to establish a third WR in a Hurts offense. JJAW was a blocker and Watkins was a field-stretching decoy. It seems like Hurts was comfortable targeting Covey before he got hurt, but they don't appear to be using Dotson in that way. It's not really my thing to be critical --- especially after wins --- but I do believe this is a Hurts issue that he needs to overcome. IMO, it's a trust issue and since Hurts began the season with way too many turnovers, I believe he's a little hesitant right now to get out of his comfort zone and trust an unknown like Dotson who wasn't with the team for TC.

I have no idea if the lack of targets has anything to do with what's been happening in practices between games. But I just believe that a QB will target you if he believes in you.

I thought Dotson would be a factor when Brown and then Smith were out but he’s been a ghost. Giving up a 3rd for him looks bad right now.

Nick is not nearly as bad as people think.

He might not be, but this team with all of this firepower should be rolling teams. It shouldn't take a pathetic Giants team for the Eagles to show signs of life. There's still something incredibly off about the team. Is it the coaching or the QB? You have a bully in AJ Brown and an absolute route running technician in DeVonta Smith and it seems they struggle with ways to get them the ball.

Why are they not feeing AJ slants to start the game? This team starts SO SLOW. If you insist on passing on 1st and 10 to open the game, quick drop, AJ slant. Set the tone. How can Kenny Gainwell get more targets than DeVonta Smith?

Feels good to have an easy win but greedy for better.

We don't have the coaching though.

If I had to make a Super Bowl prediction right now it’d be Lions vs Ravens

From Next Gen Stats --- This might explain why Hurts is holding the ball or hesitant to throw:

Average Receiver Separation (vs Giants)
A. Brown1.99 yds G. Calcaterra0.61 yds J. Dotson1.12 yds P. Campbell2.35 yds D. Smith1.22 yds -------------------- League Average2.96 yards

The league average is approximately 9 feet of separation?

Something doesn’t pass the smell test with that.

You never see guys wide open?

There were times when the line failed to protect Hurts but there were also times when he had a clean pocket and held the ball too long

Both problems can be solved by the QB

NGS has his average separation at 1.37 yards for the game.

3rd and 10+ continues to be an issue for the offense. It’s basically an automatic punt. They look fine when they’re on schedule, but they’re not disciplined enough to avoid penalties that back them up. 4-5 yards on first down is a win so it would be nice to see them start games with some quick, high percentage completions. The offense has been a total disaster in the first quarter.

Sure, but is that the average route?  3 yards of separation on average is enormous.

I understand taking the ball out of Hurts' hands in the third quarter.  Their ability to protect was suspect and Hurts' can't seem to throw the ball away to avoid a sack.  Furthermore, the run game was cooking.

Hurts didn't have any turnover friendly plays.  That's a step in the right direction.

That said, their inability to avoid sacks on each of their first three drives of the game falls on both the coaches and Hurts.

Good Lord, that double catch by Pickens. Insane focus.
