Maybe the giants are planning on being the first team to never use a Qb in a game

But Eagles fans are the worst. They booed Santa Claus, y'know.

Philly fans absolutely have their history of poor behavior, including the Santa Claus thing.   And there were batteries thrown from the upper deck at JD Drew, a flare fired across the field in the 2nd half of a MNF game, ice balls thrown at Dallas players and coaches, and the like.  And yes, we had a jail in the basement of the Vet, once upon a time.  But the Vet hasn't existed for 20 years, and neither CBP or the Linc has one, and it certainly seems its not necessary either.  Maybe some of these other stadiums around the country should install a court for game days though.

BUT, the national media doesn't harp on other cities who have had far more egregious incidents, much more recent incidents and more frequent incidents.  They go to the Philly narrative, and maybe its because Philly fans almost embraced the moniker.    But it needs to stop at this point.

Cleveland fans threw glass beer bottles on the field at players, officials, etc. at a game.   Multiple people have been killed in the parking lot of multiple stadiums.   It's almost like those incidents were too serious to make a narrative about, because the narrative about Philly almost seems lighthearted (at least in the intent).

I don't know.  It's tired and old to talk trash about Philly fans.  Yes, we boo.  And we boo a lot when it merits it, and sometimes our tolerance is lower than other cities and we boo more ferociously, more quickly.  But what happens at Philly games is actually far less horrific than other places these days.

Speaking of Cleveland.. Imagine if Philly fans did this

Is this what we sounded like when we defended Wentz?

It'd be nice if you could add a poll to the blog. Curious how many actually want to move on from Hurts. I know I could create a thread but a lot of people don't venture out of the blog

RTK and maybe 5 others would be pro Hurts. The rest of us want him out of here as soon as possible.

Holy moly… shots fired. That kind of assessment is the norm here, but the media-types usually couch their criticism more.

Too many times I order a glass of red, look at the menu and then end up ordering something that would be better with a white.  Then I have a difficult decision: Roll with the red or be an alcoholic, chug the red and order a white.

I make one choice, it appears she makes the other one.

My solution is to order an Absolut martini with a twist, hold the vermouth, then look at the menu, and then order the wine.

Greg Cosell is right. I see a lot of people saying all Jalen Hurts needs to do is manage a game. Well, the Eagles didn't pay 50m per season for a game manager. You can get that for 15m per season. He was the highest paid player in NFL history on the day he signed his contract. He's paid to to be a "carry a team on his back" QB. I maintain that Hurts gets next season regardless. But if 2025 looks a lot like 2024 and 2023, then he's not the QB in 2026.

His contract dictates another year, and the bottom hasn’t dropped out where he isn’t playable (merely a handicap against the better teams that you find occasionally and definitely in the playoffs). The contract is also a sunk cost, so making him ‘manage’ the game might be immaterial when finding the optimal path to winning on a weekly basis. However this isn’t what Jalen wants, nor AJ , nor the owner or GM - so that’s a lot of pushback for our CEO to handle.

My solution has always been a simple one... order what you like to drink, and don't worry about what others think.  It's not their business, it's not their meal, it's not their money.  If someone else is buying, then I allow them to make the selections, and I am grateful for their generosity.

My simplest solution though has been to stick to a nice craft beer (I generally prefer the darker ones  - stouts and porters... maybe an amber ale from time to time), and get whatever red meat I'm in the mood for.  When I get seafood, I usually pass on the alcohol and don't worry about red or white wines.  I'm not a wine guy.

Of course, given some recent medical news, I don't drink alcohol much at all anymore, and just stick to water and/or iced tea.

Move on to what?

Most people agree Hurts should play better. Most people comprehend that he's the qb for the foreseeable future, and even his critics admit he is top half in the league.

There is only the whiners and the non whiners. That's the poll.

Also, not to nitpick, but before the game, Cosell was gushing how the eagles rbs could dominate the giants lbs in passing routes, and after the game he was complaining that Hurts didn’t come off a route that featured a rb lined up against a lb, so he was dead wrong at least once.

Move onto drafting a QB when the 'out' for his contract is available. Everyone knows he's the QB until after 2025 because of that ugly contract

You remind me of some of the people on facebook though

This is where the player either evolves his game or he flames out, so to speak.

Hurts has to make that transition from believing his legs are his best weapon to understanding that the collective talent around him is his best weapon.  McNabb got to a point where he wasn't mobile enough anymore, but the good news was he threw a fantastic deep ball, had Andy Reid designing plays, and a really solid defense to help him.  Mike Vick did a decent job adapting his game, but he had a cannon for an arm to go along with his speed and mobility.

Hurts has AJ Brown, Smith, Barkley, and a very good OL to help him out.  He's likely putting too much on himself, whether that's because he's wired that way (if he's a good dude) or he's just selfish (if he's not a good dude).  He has to buy into the system Moore is installing and he has to immerse himself in it.  If he puts in the mental work to become an expert, Moore's track record dictates this will be a prolific offense.

So you want to poll people if the team should move on from Hurts in 2026?

At least procrastinating isn't your biggest issue.

That's not a bad plan, but personally I stay away from liquor.  I could swap that out for beer, but thats too filling.  So I always go back to delicious wine.

Since you care so much about it

I wanted a poll to see how many would like to move on from Hurts despite the contract not allowing that to happen yet

It's not an issue of what others think.  If I end up with a glass of red from before I was served my Chilean sea bass, @hputenis mocking me would have no impact.  I would ask him to put his dong back in his pants and return to his table.

It's a matter of taste.  A lot of white wines have too much bite to be enjoyable with a steak.  Conversely red's arn't acidic enough to balance out a fish dinner.

Also, I'm not going to pry but I hope everything is ok.  I've mostly cut out alcohol for health reasons too.  (No diagnosis, just trying to lose weight and be healthier overall)

He may have been the highest paid player at his position when he signed the contract, but in one more off-season, he probably will fall out of the top 10 on a per year average basis.  In two seasons, he will probably be right in the middle.  I’m not sure his contract is that big of a deal anymore.

All that said, in the future, I really only give a QB a huge 2nd deal if I truly think he’s going be a consistent top 3-5 guy.  If not, keep reloading the position.

I’m just pointing out that with all the contracts that have been signed recently, his doesn’t look as bad as it once did.  And in another year or two, it won’t even look bad at all.
